Irina Zi was in a great mood today because her little follower, Liyakade, had perfectly carried out her orders.
She had heard from other classmates that Alice and Liyakade had gotten into a fight during class. Alice had even laid hands on Liyakade, and as a result, both were punished by having to stand in the corridor.
No one knew exactly what methods Liyakade had used or what vicious words she had written to make Alice so furious. But one thing was clear: Alice’s facade as a good student was completely torn apart in front of Field.
After all, she was just a savage commoner.
Irina Zi chuckled softly and continued planning how to further torment Alice and win back her beloved Field.
On the other side, Field was also very pleased. Judging by Alice’s expression, she must have seen through Liyakade’s mask of false friendliness and recognized her true nature.
After all, the two hadn’t spoken all afternoon, and Alice’s face was flushed with anger. She kept stealing meaningful glances at Liyakade, surely regretting having befriended her in the first place.
Now, all Field had to do was comfort Alice and she could win back her affection.
Thinking this, Field pushed open the dormitory door.
“Alice, are you still upset?”
Field came up behind Alice.
“N-no, I’m not!”
Alice had been deeply absorbed in reading the book’s text and hadn’t noticed Field’s return until she suddenly snapped shut the book, clearly not wanting anyone to see its contents.
“Sigh, does Alice understand now? You never truly know a person’s heart by their face. That Liyakade has been deceiving you all along; she never genuinely wanted to be your friend,” Field said slowly, showing sympathy for Alice.
However, Alice’s next reaction completely stunned Field.
“I thought Miss Liyakade just wanted to be friends with me, but…” Alice trailed off, twisting and turning shyly, a faint blush coloring her cheeks.
“Although she didn’t truly want to be friends with me, Miss Liyakade’s feelings must be real.”
“W-what?!”
Field immediately lost her composure. The slightly aloof tone she had been using vanished as she pressed eagerly, “What exactly did she do?!”
So all afternoon Alice avoided speaking to Liyakade not because she was angry, but because she was embarrassed. Those glances were actually secret signals. Field had even heard Alice cursing with words like “pervert” and “disgusting”—what was going on?
Oh right, the book!
Alice had started the conflict this afternoon after reading that book, and just now she was reading it again!
What kind of mind-altering potion did Liyakade slip into Alice’s hands?!
“Let me see! What does the book say?”
“No!” Alice quickly clutched the book to her chest.
“There are matters in here that concern both me and Liyakade’s lives! Even Her Highness Field is not allowed to look!”
“Cough…” Seeing Alice’s resolute stance, Field felt a blow to her pride. She hadn’t expected Alice and Liyakade to be bound by a Destined Bond, to the point that even she was forbidden from seeing the book.
I was here first… how could this happen…
“Her Highness Field?”
Alice stared blankly ahead, muttering words too quiet to catch, looking deeply wounded.
“…Her Highness Field, if you promise not to tell anyone, I’ll show you,” Alice finally relented, unable to bear seeing Field so distressed.
“Really?”
Field instantly brightened.
“I promise I won’t tell a soul.”
“Okay.”
Alice handed over the book, but as she did, she suddenly remembered its contents, and her face flushed all the way to her ears.
“Maybe it’s better if I don’t…”
Just as Alice was about to change her mind, Field took advantage of her momentary hesitation and snatched the book away.
“Her Highness Field!!!”
“I told you, I won’t say a word. I just want to take a look, that’s all,” Field insisted. Today she was determined to find out what Liyakade was really up to.
“Her Highness Field, how could you! I’m going to sleep now! Don’t wake me!”
Unable to get the book back, Alice quickly crawled under the covers and buried herself to prevent Field from seeing anything else.
“Why so worked up today…”
Field was helpless. She had never seen Alice so emotional.
“You agreed to let me see it as long as I didn’t tell, and now you want to back out.”
“Let me see what this is all about.”
Seeing no response from under the covers, Field stopped trying to argue and opened the book.
“Heh… she’s an adult, and even a minor noble, yet she’s doodling in someone else’s book like a child. How boring,” Field sneered at the several pages marked, mocking Liyakade’s childishness.
But the more she read, the less she could laugh.
[ Alice-chan, there’s actually something very important I want to tell you, but I find it hard to say aloud, so I can only express it in writing… ]
Field’s anger grew as she read on. Her eyes seemed to shoot flames. This was obviously a confession letter!
How shameless could someone be—to write a love letter right in someone else’s book, this was absurd!
And the worst part?
Field had been first in line, yet this random newcomer had jumped ahead!
Field flipped further.
“Liyakade!!!”
Field slammed the book shut, her icy expression now flushed with embarrassment. If Liyakade were here, she would definitely get a scolding.
What kind of person—what kind of creature—would write a confession in the book of the very one they were confessing to?
And then, on top of that, write an r18 story about the person?
If this was serious, Liyakade was truly extraordinary.
Daring to defile Alice like this!
If it weren’t Alice’s book in her hands, Field would have torn it to shreds already.
Looking at the bulky lump under the covers, Field guessed that if she tried to call Alice now, Alice would just pretend to be asleep and not respond.
Field tossed the book onto the desk, firmly resolved to challenge Liyakade to a proper duel tomorrow.
She had to win Alice back!
