“Now is the time!”
Black, who had been closely observing the developments on Anna Medias’s side, finally saw his chance.
Anna Medias’s powerful high-level magic had finally hit that Elf Archer.
Now, neither Anna Medias nor that Holy Knight Kolin would be able to interfere with his affairs!
After dodging yet another pillar of light descending from the sky, Black ignored Liyami’s pursuit and moved quickly toward the rock wall.
Due to the previous combined attacks from Liyami and Eleanor, the Shadow Black occupied had shrunk to a very small patch.
He estimated that one more similar attack would truly be the end of him.
However, because of this, Black—now only having to manipulate a tiny Shadow—saw his speed and concealment increase significantly.
Even with Liyami chasing him closely, she couldn’t land a hit immediately.
Suddenly, Liyami felt her vision darken.
Her pursuit faltered for a moment, and Black took the opportunity to successfully vanish into the shadows by the rock wall.
Liyami frowned and looked up at the [Illumination Magic] hovering above.
One of the light orbs had been covered by a mysterious darkness at some point, clearly Black’s doing.
However, even if her vision was obstructed for a short time, Liyami could still use her [Shadow Manipulation] to detect Black’s movements.
Soon, Liyami sensed the movement of a shadow in a nearby corner.
This direction was exactly where Eleanor was positioned!
Liyami quickly turned to move toward her, but before she could arrive, a small, eerie figure had already reached Eleanor’s back and made contact with her shadow.
But the expected disaster did not happen.
The moment the eerie figure touched Eleanor’s shadow, it felt as if it had been placed in a furnace to be roasted.
Not only could it not control her shadow, but it was also being burned by her shadow instead.
The eerie figure immediately tried to flee, but it found its path blocked.
A holy power obstructed every escape route.
At the same time, a pillar of light—extremely gentle to a normal person but scalding hot to the figure—descended upon the trapped, eerie form.
Immediately after, Liyami successfully launched the final [Assassination] against the figure being purified by the light.
Liyami merged the eerie figure into her own [Shadow].
At first, there were traces of struggle from the figure, but soon, all signs of resistance vanished.
It merged completely with the Shadow controlled by Liyami.
Seeing this, Eleanor couldn’t help but feel a bit proud and broke into a smile.
As it turned out, everything just now had been part of Eleanor and Liyami’s plan.
Eleanor had long realized her [Illumination Magic] was being eroded by Black.
In a silent understanding with Liyami, she designed this scheme to eliminate him in one go.
The result was smooth; Brian fell perfectly into the trap.
She first weakened and trapped the opponent, and then Liyami delivered the final blow!
As everyone knew, the simpler the plan, the easier it was to execute!
In contrast to Eleanor’s pride in the plan’s success, Liyami’s expression remained heavy.
She had just realized that there was no trace of Brian within the eerie figure she had just finished merging!
In other words, they hadn’t actually dealt with Brian yet!
Liyami was about to warn Eleanor when a dazzling light suddenly flared up, forcing her to raise her hand to shield her eyes.
When the light faded, Liyami discovered that the [Magic Barrier] obstructing them from Kolin and Lavinia had shattered!
On the other side of the broken barrier, Kolin was once again raising the [Temple Sword], preparing to continue his pursuit.
However, he was blocked by several large magical missiles from his opponent.
Just then, Liyami suddenly sensed an unusual movement in the nearby shadows.
She immediately looked toward the sound and saw a small but extremely fast shadow rushing toward a nearby cave entrance!
The barrier Kolin had previously set up to seal the room had already been broken by that flame pillar.
The shadow, clearly manipulated by Brian, passed through the entrance without any hindrance and vanished.
Liyami intended to give chase immediately to finish him off, but she was suddenly startled by a powerful burst of magical energy from behind.
Turning around, Liyami saw Kolin tanking the large magical missiles head-on, swinging his sword horizontally to send Anna Medias flying.
After being slammed into the rock wall, Anna Medias suddenly began frantically releasing fireballs, ice spears, flying stones, and various other types of magic.
Although most were low-to-mid-tier spells, they covered the entire wide [Space].
Liyami was forced to abandon the idea of chasing Brian and focus on dealing with these spells falling at random.
After maintaining the magical feast for a short while, Anna Medias stepped out from the cratered rock wall.
The moment she emerged, she raised a hand to release a [Magic Barrier], blocking a pillar of light descending from above.
Then, she crossed her arms over her chest and swung them outward.
A terrifying shockwave erupted from her body, blowing away the approaching Liyami.
Even Kolin’s charge toward her was forced to a halt.
Glaring at the group, Anna Medias looked around before slowly asking, “Where is Brian? Where did he go?”
Facing the question Anna Medias suddenly posed, Eleanor gave a mocking laugh.
“I didn’t expect you to care so much about him. Unfortunately, I’m afraid he will never be able to hear your concern again.”
Eleanor’s meaning couldn’t be clearer, and this time, Anna Medias was completely infuriated.
Although Brian wasn’t a particularly interesting person, he was the only fellow clansman Anna Medias had seen in the decades since she hid in this [Dark Cave]!
Not only that, he had sworn loyalty to her the moment they met and had helped her capture many people on the [Island] for her healing.
He wasn’t very interesting, but he had accompanied her for so long that she had grown somewhat fond of him!
But now!
This group of ungrateful things had actually killed him!
They killed Brian!
Simply unforgivable!!!
Anna Medias no longer cared about those pretty faces.
Compared to claiming those beautiful faces as her own, she now wanted to vent the rage of hearing of Brian’s death upon them!
Anna Medias stared intently at the people who had ruined her peaceful recovery.
She slowly opened her mouth, intending to softly chant a few lines of an incantation while they weren’t looking.
But at that moment, her brow furrowed, and she tilted her head slightly, dodging an arrow that had pierced through her [Magic Barrier].
Looking at the person who had interrupted her chanting and attempted to attack her, Anna Medias shouted in a mix of rage and confusion.
“How the hell did you damn elf survive?!”
Following Anna Medias’s words, a beautiful figure with pointed ears stood holding a bow a great distance away.
She let out a sneer at the furious question.
“Because, I am an Elf!”
