Fuck your mother!
I’m the one who killed him, why are you looting!
I’m looting because I’m giving you face, okay!
“I lost over ten million yesterday, can you stop arguing? Wanna go hit the vault?”
Before even entering the room, Bai Yao heard the noisy commotion coming from inside the dorm.
Having lived in the rental apartment for several days and gradually getting used to the quiet, she actually felt a bit nostalgic for this kind of racket.
She pushed the door open.
As soon as the door opened, she saw Wang Zuhao shirtless, one foot propped on a chair, hunched over staring at his computer screen, completely devoid of any decorum.
Chen Zhilong had a cigarette dangling from his mouth, ashes falling onto the desk without a care as he yelled about needing to hit the vault to recoup losses.
Qiu Ye was at least somewhat proper, sitting up straight, though he was muttering curses under his breath.
Lin Mingxin was alone, clutching his hitbox, leaning back in his chair focused on playing Street Fighter, his button presses creating a rapid-fire clatter.
The whole room was filled with a faint haze of smoke, a strong tobacco smell hitting her face.
The moment Bai Yao stepped into the dorm, she felt the urge to cough.
Hearing the door open, Qiu Ye was the first to abandon the game, quickly getting up to greet her: “You’re here so early? We can grab food together later. Didn’t you ask me to help you wash clothes?”
Wang Zuhao hadn’t paid attention at first, but hearing that familiar voice, he glanced over, immediately threw down his keyboard and mouse, and hurried to grab a t-shirt from the wardrobe to put on.
In the middle of autumn, he was the only one still going shirtless.
Chen Zhilong casually stubbed out his cigarette and called out to Wang Zuhao: “Open the back door to air the place out. Bai Yao, why didn’t you say you were coming? Is Qiu Ye even human? Specifically calling you over to help wash clothes?”
Lin Mingxin teased as usual: “Bai Yao, you’re really helping him wash? People who don’t know better would think you’re his wife.”
Clearly, Chen Zhilong’s mouth was pretty tight.
Bai Yao had thought the whole dorm knew she and Qiu Ye were dating, but now she was caught in an awkward situation.
“Uh… maybe you could wash mine too while you’re at it? I lost a bet with him.”
Bai Yao explained stiffly, her face flushed with embarrassment.
She pursed her lips in distaste, ignoring Lin Mingxin.
She waited until the smoke in the room had mostly dissipated before covering her nose and walking in.
Smoking without even opening a window or door, making Qiu Ye breathe in all that secondhand smoke.
She glanced somewhat concerned at Qiu Ye’s desk, but didn’t see an ashtray or drink bottles full of cigarette butts.
Qiu Ye eagerly pulled a plastic bucket from the wardrobe, which was about half-full of dirty clothes: “I can wash them, I was really just joking. Or maybe I could take them to your rental place and use the washing machine there?”
“Since I’m already here.”
Bai Yao took the plastic bucket and walked out onto the balcony.
She hadn’t been back to the dorm for days, yet she had the strange feeling of being an outsider.
Her roommates were being overly polite to her, only Lin Mingxin still teased her…
This guy was popular with women, always hanging out with groups of girls, so he naturally wouldn’t feel the same awkwardness around a “femboy” as he would around a woman.
Bai Yao took a step back, leaning against the balcony railing, poured laundry detergent into the bucket, and turned on the faucet to fill it with water.
Qiu Ye followed closely behind: “I can wash the underwear and socks myself.”
“It’s fine.”
Bai Yao didn’t mind handling Qiu Ye’s personal laundry, but Qiu Ye hesitated, thinking it probably wouldn’t be noticed, so he guiltily kept quiet and leaned against the railing next to Bai Yao.
“Can’t you wash your own clothes?”
“Mostly just lazy.”
Bai Yao rolled her eyes.
She had lost fair and square at badminton before, mainly because she was in a good mood from making money, that’s why she came to help wash clothes.
But looking at the state of the dorm now, she felt a new layer of disdain.
“After I left, have they just been smoking in the dorm every day?”
Bai Yao looked down at the balcony floor again, cigarette butts were still scattered everywhere, they hadn’t even bothered to sweep them up.
“They’ll probably sweep it when the hygiene inspection comes.”
“You don’t say anything to them either.”
“I don’t really mind the smell of smoke, but it might stick to my clothes.”
Qiu Ye lowered his head and sniffed.
Bai Yao also leaned in, pressing the tip of her nose against Qiu Ye’s shoulder to smell.
Hmm, a faint scent of tobacco mixed with male hormones, plus a bit of sweat and warm body heat.
Her face flushed red without warning, a faint tightening sensation deep in her abdomen.
“There is a bit of a smoke smell.”
Bai Yao pretended nothing was wrong, walked over to turn off the faucet, pulled a washboard from under the counter, and started scrubbing Qiu Ye’s clothes.
What’s going on?
Too much self-indulgence these past two days?
Awakening?
It’s just a whiff of a man’s scent!
“I can do it.”
Qiu Ye felt somewhat uncomfortable.
Even though he won the bet, watching Bai Yao help wash his clothes felt weird.
Even if they were a couple, there was no need to help wash underwear, right?
It felt like something only a mother would do.
“Don’t go saying I didn’t keep my word later.”
Bai Yao muttered, quickly scrubbed one piece of clothing, then pulled a pair of underwear from the bucket and continued scrubbing.
Qiu Ye immediately tensed up.
“Why is it so slippery?”
He quickly explained: “Isn’t laundry detergent supposed to be slippery?”
“And a bit sticky?”
Qiu Ye guiltily averted his gaze, not even daring to look at Bai Yao’s back.
Wasn’t it all Bai Yao’s fault?
Usually, just getting close, a little physical contact made him feel hot, let alone all the intimate interactions.
It made him have all sorts of wet dreams at night, just like during puberty, almost every day, waking up and always having to change his underwear.
But Bai Yao seemed like she never went through puberty, otherwise she wouldn’t be only 165 cm tall, barely any body hair, her voice still childlike, just a slight modulation turning it into a girl’s voice, probably her testosterone levels were very low.
Or maybe these past few months were her actual puberty, she never experienced anything similar, completely unable to understand.
After scrubbing the clothes once, then rinsing them with clean water, Bai Yao considered it done.
“You wring them out and hang them up.”
Bai Yao turned and directed Qiu Ye.
“I’m not strong enough, I can’t wring them properly.”
“Okay.”
Qiu Ye eagerly stepped forward to help.
He had been feeling awkward and uncomfortable for a while now, finally able to do something.
Seeing she wasn’t needed anymore, Bai Yao returned to the dorm room like a male lion patrolling its territory.
“Long Ge, aren’t you going to throw away all these cigarette butts?”
“Right away, right away.”
“Wang Zuhao, you even have chest hair?”
“I’m just more of a man, okay! You didn’t say you were coming, I didn’t have time to put a shirt on.”
“Why would I need to announce coming back to my own dorm? We’re all guys, what’s there to be shy about?”
Bai Yao felt like she was a homeroom teacher or counselor doing a hygiene inspection, and these two were nervously cooperating.
Chen Zhilong, however, noticed Bai Yao’s personality had become a bit more outgoing.
“Lin Ge, how’s it going with your girlfriend?”
Lin Mingxin turned his head, lifting eyes with heavy dark circles, weakly saying as if half-dead: “Just broke up yesterday.”
She could probably guess the reason.
Bai Yao’s silence seemed to sting Lin Mingxin, something probably any man would find hard to bear.
He stood up, righteously retorting: “If your girlfriend wanted it three times a day, could you handle it?!”
“I don’t have a girlfriend…”
“Anyway, don’t go for girls with high demands, they’re like fox spirits, who can stand it?”
Bai Yao already had a boyfriend.
In the future, once she got a taste of “meat,” he felt she might be even more exaggerated than Lin Mingxin’s ex-girlfriend.
After all, The System said the future her was a top-tier “Chinyu” aiming for the “Thousand-man Slayer” title.
A thousand men was probably an exaggeration, but the possibility of her fixating on Qiu Ye alone was very high.
