In order to refute Hadia’s plan that would result in both of them “dying” at the hands of the Demon King, Emily spoke up in a panic.
“Hero, I refuse! I can’t possibly get away, so you should be the one to run! If you escape alone, you will be successful!”
Of course, even if Emily could truly escape on her own, she would never dream of leaving the Hero behind.
Even if it were possible, Emily could never abandon the Hero.
If she were to actually do such a thing, she would not only regret it for the rest of her life, but she would certainly be punished by God.
After all, a Saintess who abandoned the Hero to flee would be seen as a total failure as a Saintess by that control-freak God.
A Saintess should sacrifice everything to protect the most important person, the Hero.
That was the only definition of a Saintess that the God accepted.
In other words, whether for public duty or personal reasons, Emily did not have the option of leaving the Hero behind and escaping alone.
Hearing Emily’s words urging her to run, Hadia felt that she had indeed not misjudged the girl.
Emily was truly a holy person worthy of Hadia throwing everything away to protect!
After all, Hadia had seen far too many people in the Church who appeared holy on the surface but were actually incredibly filthy inside.
A pure “gem” like Emily must never die in a place like this.
Humanity still needed the Saintess to guide them toward a better future!
In Hadia’s heart, she was nothing more than a sword.
She could kill enemies, but if she were asked to lead the people like a true Hero, she would be completely incapable of it.
That was why Hadia believed that the Saintess, who could guide the people, was far more important than a sword like herself!
After all, no one could guarantee that the next Saintess would be as holy as Emily.
Of course, if Emily knew that Hadia held her in such high regard, she would be completely speechless.
In reality, Emily was essentially a lazy person with no ambitions who was entirely forced by God to play the role of the Saintess.
However, Hadia didn’t know any of that.
As Hadia’s determination grew stronger, she felt more certain that she had to make Emily escape no matter what!
“I am sorry, Lady Emily!”
After saying those words, Hadia thrust the Holy Sword into the ground and grabbed Emily with incredible speed.
Hadia’s sudden move naturally left Emily in a daze.
Seeing this, Natalie was instantly filled with killing intent.
To Natalie, there should only be one person in this world allowed to be so intimate with Emily — herself!
Because it happened in an instant, by the time Emily reacted, she had already been thrown with great force into the sky by Hadia.
Under Hadia’s absurd strength, Emily was launched dozens of meters into the air, falling straight toward the forest outside the Demon King’s castle.
‘I hope Lady Emily isn’t hurt.’
Having done this, Hadia pulled out the Holy Sword and pointed it at Natalie, adopting a stance that signaled she would never allow Natalie to capture Emily again.
‘I’m going to die! I’m going to die! No way, Hadia! What are you doing?!’
Emily, having been thrown with full force, could no longer control herself and burst into tears.
Experiencing a free fall for the first time in her life, how could the cowardly Emily not be frightened to tears?
‘What should I do? What should I do? My physical strength is just that of a normal human girl! I’ll definitely be turned into meat paste if I fall from this height! Right, I need to use enhancement magic on myself immediately!’
With that thought, Emily instantly cast a barrage of enhancement spells on herself.
Physical Enhancement, Defense, and Impact Resistance…
Emily was truly grateful that she could use magic without chanting; it was one of God’s blessings.
Without that skill, she would have fallen to her death long before she finished an incantation.
This was also why Hadia had dared to throw Emily out in the first place.
Having finished applying her magic, Emily prepared for landing.
Even with a pile of enhancement spells, while she probably wouldn’t die, it would still hurt, and she would likely be injured.
But just as Emily thought that, her falling body suddenly began to hover.
“How is this possible…”
Hadia looked at Natalie’s raised hand and hurriedly turned back to look in Emily’s direction.
Emily’s body was flying back toward them.
Hadia really hadn’t expected the range of Natalie’s psychokinesis to be so massive!
In less than a few seconds, Emily, with tears still in her eyes, had returned to Natalie’s side.
After Natalie gently lowered Emily to the ground with her power, Emily’s legs were so weak that she couldn’t even stand.
“Honestly, you shouldn’t be so rough with a delicate girl like the Saintess, Hero! Besides, that counts as cheating, doesn’t it?”
As Natalie spoke, she used her finger to wipe the tears from the corners of Emily’s eyes.
“Let go of Lady Emily!”
In response to Natalie’s actions, Hadia lost control and lunged straight at her.
After flashing in front of Natalie, Hadia swung the Holy Sword without hesitation.
Under the influence of Emily’s various enhancement spells, Hadia’s speed and power were on a completely different level than before.
Faced with Hadia’s full-force slash, Natalie simply caught the Holy Sword between two fingers.
“!”
“Still, I am very magnanimous! I’ll forgive you for cheating just now.”
As Natalie spoke, Hadia tried her best to pull the Holy Sword from her grasp, but it was useless.
The Holy Sword seemed to be fixed in space; no matter how much strength Hadia applied, it wouldn’t budge.
“You damnable Demon King!”
Realizing she couldn’t pull the sword free, Hadia let go and delivered a roundhouse kick straight to Natalie’s head.
But before the kick could land, it was blocked by Natalie’s other hand.
The massive shockwave from the full-power kick passed right through Natalie and hit a nearby building, blasting a hole through the wall.
“My, you’re far too weak! What a dainty girl. Instead of a Hero who fights and kills, you’re more suited to being an embroiderer.”
Because Natalie had caught her foot as well, Hadia was forced to stand on one leg, leaving her completely without any means of attack.
“Allow me to let you suffer a little.”
With those words, Hadia’s body was once again sent flying by psychokinesis.
Her body smashed through countless walls, and before she could even recover, the force dragged her back in front of Natalie.
Then, she was launched 100 meters into the air before being slammed into the ground by the combined force of gravity and psychokinesis, creating a massive crater.
The violent impact caused the entire ground to shake violently as if an earthquake were occurring.
When the dust from the impact settled, Hadia lay powerless in the crater, having lost all strength to resist.
Although Natalie herself had held back, in Emily’s eyes, she was being far too cruel to Hadia.
With that sequence just now, had Hadia not been protected by Emily’s enhancement magic, she would have been dead long ago.
