As soon as Liyami asked her question, she noticed Lavinia smiling mysteriously. Lavinia picked up the bag she had brought into Kolin’s room but hadn’t opened yet. This action immediately piqued Liyami’s curiosity about what was inside.
However, Lavinia didn’t open the bag right away. Instead, she first addressed Liyami’s question.
“All of us, of course! You didn’t think I’d go on a seaside vacation all by myself, did you? That would be far too lonely! So, I’ve already booked vacation tickets for everyone to go to Sunlight Island in the southern part of the kingdom! I even reserved the Teleportation Circle! We can leave as soon as you’re ready!”
Lavinia spoke with excitement, showing no sign that this had been a long-planned scheme. It seemed as though this really was just a sudden whim.
Seeing this, Liyami didn’t know whether to marvel at Lavinia’s incredible acting skills or her erratic train of thought. How could she suddenly decide to drag them all the way to the southern coast of the kingdom without a word of warning? She could have at least mentioned it sooner!
Kolin shared Liyami’s headache on the matter.
“While it’s true we don’t have anything to do right now, we aren’t exactly on vacation. We’re on standby, you know? If an emergency happens, we have to deploy immediately! Going to a southern island for a vacation at a time like this is a bit…”
Kolin was cut off by Lavinia raising her hand. With an air of preparation, she said, “I knew you’d say that, Kolin, so I already prepared a way to convince you!”
“Oh?” Kolin looked at the confident Lavinia with surprise, arching an eyebrow. “Then I’d really like to see how you plan to persuade me. Just so you know, if your argument doesn’t pique my interest, I won’t be going on any vacation.”
“Heh heh! Don’t you go back on your word!” Lavinia smiled triumphantly, as if she had been waiting for him to say exactly that.
Looking at Lavinia’s expression, Liyami already knew how this would end. Although Lavinia was usually a bit scatterbrained, she rarely made mistakes when she was truly determined about something. After all, she was a Legendary Elf Archer.
“Actually,” Lavinia quickly presented her argument, “I heard that Sunlight Island hasn’t been very peaceful lately. It seems like some Magic Monsters or the Demon Race are causing trouble? Young girls have been disappearing across the island, causing quite a panic! Anyway, I’ve already received the official request for aid dispatched from Sunlight Island. Well? Are you interested, Great Holy Knight Master Kolin?”
It had to be said that Lavinia knew exactly which buttons to press. The events she described were precisely the kind of high-risk incidents Kolin was dedicated to solving. Especially now, while his movement was restricted to certain areas, Kolin found it hard to pass up an opportunity to handle a high-risk situation elsewhere.
“I am interested in what you said, but…”
Kolin still seemed hesitant, as if he couldn’t quite leave Kit City and its surrounding areas unattended. But Lavinia was clearly prepared for this as well.
“Don’t worry! I’ve already notified a Special Incident Handling Squad that is nearby and happens to be between missions! They are more than happy to keep an eye on things here while we’re on vacation. According to their warrior Squad Leader, they want to repay the favor you did for them before. Do you two know each other?”
Kolin had a good idea of who that warrior Squad Leader was. Seeing that Lavinia had made every possible preparation, he gave up on arguing and obediently agreed to the idea of going on a seaside vacation with them.
“Wouldn’t it have been better to just agree from the start? Don’t you agree, Liyami?”
Liyami didn’t say anything, merely nodding in agreement.
She really wanted to complain, ‘Why didn’t anyone ask for my opinion?’
However, since Kolin had decided to go, there was no need for her to object.
And so, the sudden seaside vacation to a southern island was decided.
Of course, the three of them wouldn’t be the only ones going. Lavinia hadn’t forgotten about Eleanor; she just hadn’t told her yet. As for Hifny, Lavinia couldn’t even contact her. It seemed the information security at whatever magic laboratory she was visiting was too strong. Consequently, Lavinia had no choice but to give up on bringing Hifny along.
“By the way,” Liyami suddenly thought of something. “Even though we’ve agreed to go with you, you haven’t said when we’re leaving. It shouldn’t be too late, right?”
Lavinia gave a smug smile, her face practically shouting that she was one step ahead.
“Don’t worry! I know our time might be limited, so I figured the sooner, the better. Therefore, I’ve already booked the Teleportation Circle for tomorrow morning! Once we pack our bags, we can head out!”
“What?! That soon?!”
Liyami was shocked by the time Lavinia had set. Her worry about it being “too late” felt entirely redundant. Even Kolin was surprised that she had scheduled it so early.
Lavinia simply gave a casual explanation. “Remember! Time waits for no one. There’s no harm in being a little early!”
“I don’t even know what to pack yet,” Liyami said with a frown.
“Oh, it’s just a seaside vacation. How much luggage could you need? Traveling light is enough! If you really need something, we can just buy it there. It’s not like we’re short on money.”
Lavinia spoke non-chalantly, looking completely unconcerned. But Liyami still seemed worried.
“But I haven’t even picked out a swimsuit. More importantly, I’ve never even worn a swimsuit before? I’ve never even bought one, so how can I suddenly…”
Before Liyami could finish, she noticed Lavinia’s smile growing wider. Only then did Liyami realize that Lavinia had, at some point, opened the bag sitting on her lap. Revealed inside were… swimsuits of all shapes and sizes!
At the sight, Liyami’s eye twitched. She found herself at a loss for words.
“I already anticipated this! That’s why I’ve already prepared swimsuits in your size! Now, you just have to pick one you like!”
Liyami was speechless. After taking a deep breath, she asked with a trembling voice, “How… how do you know my measurements?! I never told you!”
Upon hearing this, Lavinia chuckled softly. She pointed to her eyes and said proudly, “I saw them with my own eyes, of course! Don’t forget, I’m a Legendary Elf Archer! My vision is beyond reproach! Figuring out your bust size was nothing to me!”
‘Can a Legendary Elf Archer’s vision really be used like that? No, wait, what kind of vision allows someone to see a person’s bust size at a single glance?! This is completely irrational!!!’
Even though Liyami was screaming her head off internally, it didn’t change the fact that Lavinia knew her measurements. After this incident, Liyami would always be extra conscious of Lavinia’s gaze—especially when it drifted toward her chest!
