“The other squads have all returned. Where is the Third Squad?”
Alexander asked at the KING camp.
“With Fu Qiesi’s abilities, she shouldn’t have taken this much time. Unless… there really is a mole between Lin Yu and Li Hao,” Yuan Jinglong said lightly, resting his chin on his hands.
As a Vice President of KING, he knew the French woman’s strength all too well.
Whether it was her intellect or her combat prowess, she was top-tier among all the students who had not yet graduated.
It was for this reason that Yuan Jinglong was willing to hand over the position of second-in-command to her, though perhaps there was also a bit of personal bias involved.
“I’m saying, have you really not considered that those two might be spies? They stayed out there for two days unarmed before coming here. And according to them, they used Divine Sense to survive. According to the rules of The School, Divine Sense shouldn’t be allowed yet, right?”
“The news about a mole is fake, Long. The School did give me a slip of paper before the Second Phase began, and there was a name on it. I imagine the leaders of the other clubs received slips from The School as well. No one knew what The School meant until that note saying ‘Beware of those around you’ appeared in the supply crates. Most people probably think the person on their slip is a spy planted in another club, but I don’t see it that way.”
Alexander smiled.
“Guess whose name was on my slip, Long?”
“The answer shouldn’t be that hard to guess since you decided the news of a mole was fake the moment you saw the name,” Yuan Jinglong shrugged.
“Long Yun?”
Alexander nodded.
“Exactly. But we both know that Long Yun would never betray Mu Chengfeng.”
“But what does that prove? Long Yun won’t betray Mu Chengfeng simply for personal reasons, right?”
“What about you, Long? Would you betray KING?”
Alexander looked him in the eye.
Yuan Jinglong kept his chin on his hands and remained silent.
“You wouldn’t. You wouldn’t, and neither would Fu Qiesi. None of the core members of KING would ever commit an act of betrayal,” Alexander said confidently.
“You trust us that much?”
Yuan Jinglong yawned and spoke airily.
In Yuan Jinglong’s eyes, Alexander was sometimes an arrogant wealthy young master, sometimes a majestic leader, and sometimes like a child who hadn’t graduated from his middle school delusions, saying things only a kid would say.
But perhaps that was exactly why Yuan Jinglong followed him.
“Because we are companions. If you can’t believe in them 100%, then being companions is meaningless, isn’t it? As for Divine Sense…”
Alexander paused and held out his palm.
A small flame slowly rose from his hand.
“The School never specified what the punishment would be for using Divine Sense early.”
Meanwhile, at the Pink Flags camp, Lin Yu sat on the ground with nothing to do.
In the center of the camp, Kobayashi Mirai was communicating with the other members of the club.
They were speaking Japanese, and he couldn’t understand a word of what they were discussing.
Lin Yu took a general look around the camp.
Compared to KING, the number of pink tents was insignificant; there were only about ten of them.
After an unknown amount of time, Kobayashi Mirai walked over and sat down beside him.
“So? Do you regret turning down my invitation back then?”
‘What the hell, I don’t know Japanese. This club might not be as big as KING, but it still has at least thirty or forty people. Shouldn’t there be a translator here?’
Lin Yu complained in his heart.
“I don’t know what you are talking about. I can’t speak Japanese,” Lin Yu replied helplessly in English.
Kobayashi Mirai froze for a moment.
She clearly remembered Lin Yu saying “hello” to her in Japanese.
Although his pronunciation had been a bit strange, she had assumed he just couldn’t speak it well but had no problem understanding it.
Otherwise, he wouldn’t have followed her here…
“Lev!”
Kobayashi Mirai shouted toward the camp.
Before long, a man wearing glasses walked over.
Just as Lin Yu hoped, a translator had arrived.
After getting a general grasp of the situation, Lev accurately translated Mirai’s question.
“I’m really regretting it. I know I was wrong. Can you let me go?”
Hearing this answer, Lev couldn’t help but freeze for a moment before translating Lin Yu’s response for Mirai — this answer was truly disgraceful.
He silently lowered his opinion of Lin Yu.
Kobayashi Mirai was also stunned by the answer, not knowing what to say.
Seeing the two of them dazed, Lin Yu felt a bit lost.
Were they unsatisfied with his answer?
He had rejected her invitation before and was now her prisoner; this was the perfect moment for her to gloat.
‘Should I have acted like someone who would rather die than submit to satisfy these people’s psychological needs…?’
The conversation went nowhere, and he was eventually settled into an empty pink tent.
For a prisoner, his treatment seemed fairly good.
It was likely because many people had already been eliminated, leaving these tents vacant.
He couldn’t help but think of the several Pink Flags members Fu Qiesi had eliminated.
‘It’s already been three days. In a few more days, I’ll be able to earn another credit,’ he thought, playing with the school’s Survival Device.
Why did Kobayashi Mirai threaten him to come here?
There were still sounds of discussion outside the tent.
These people didn’t seem to have any guard up against him at all.
Although he really didn’t understand what they were saying and didn’t have the ability to resist… it didn’t matter to him anyway.
Coming here was just changing locations to continue wasting time.
Lin Yu felt these people were quite boring.
Hundreds of people were playing a real-life battle royale game organized by The School in Antarctica, everyone brandishing weapons and acting all excited.
‘If this were a battle royale movie, I’d probably be the side character who only knows how to scream in shock and then gets slapped in the face by the protagonist,’ he thought.
“Good morning.”
Three days later, in the morning, Lin Yu’s tent was opened.
Kobayashi Mirai stood at the entrance.
“Ohayou,”
Lin Yu replied perfunctorily.
After another three days of doing nothing, he was already somewhat numb.
Perhaps realizing that communication was useless, Mirai didn’t waste words.
She walked straight in and grabbed him.
Lin Yu put up a token resistance, but it was futile.
In front of these violent fanatics, he was like a helpless small animal.
Mirai dragged him out with ease.
‘This strength is way too much,’ Lin Yu couldn’t help but marvel.
‘Are they going to discuss how to deal with the prisoner now?’
In the center of the camp, nearly twenty members in pink clothing were ready to depart.
After Mirai dragged Lin Yu over, the group began discussing things again.
Lin Yu yawned, waiting for them to decide his fate.
The discussion lasted for about half an hour, and then the Pink Flags members began to disperse.
Contrary to his expectations, he wasn’t treated with cold glares; these people didn’t pay him any attention at all.
He looked around and, confirming he was being completely ignored, he strolled back toward his tent, preparing to lie down for another day before forfeiting…
“Ah!”
Lin Yu’s heart jumped.
Kobayashi Mirai used her superpower to flash before his eyes like a ghost, startling him so much he almost leaped into the air.
‘This superpower would be perfect for a haunted house,’ he thought.
Kobayashi Mirai looked at his expression and smiled disdainfully.
Then, she gestured for him to follow her.
Seeing that she was about to grab him again, Lin Yu immediately nodded to show he understood.
