“You still wanted to take him and leave me together?”
“But he already rejected you!”
Ye Moran’s voice was soft and sweet, but every word was steeped in ice. Her fingertips pressed firmly, making Su Ling’s chin ache as she forced him to open his reddened eyes and look directly into the obsession and hostility surging within her gaze.
Su Ling’s entire body froze like a block of ice. The cat ears atop his head pressed tightly against his scalp, and he didn’t even dare to breathe too heavily. Tears uncontrollably pooled in his eyes, yet he stubbornly refused to let them fall, leaving only a heart full of panic and helplessness.
He had only said he wanted to run away, only wanted to take his only “friend” and leave together. How did he — get caught red-handed?
“Master, I… I didn’t… I wasn’t trying to run away.”
Seeing Qin Siyu behind Ye Moran, Lu Yu immediately knelt in a panic, terrified that she would misunderstand and think he also wanted to escape!
Qin Siyu didn’t speak. Instead, she gently stroked his head and said in a low voice, “I know.”
Ye Moran lowered her gaze. Her eyes slowly swept over Lu Yu, who was kneeling stiffly on the ground and not daring to make a sound, before falling back onto Su Ling’s pale face. Her smile deepened, yet there was not a trace of warmth in it.
“Running away? And trying to run away with someone else’s property?”
Su Ling’s lips trembled, and he finally squeezed out a broken, sobbing sound. “I didn’t… I just don’t want to stay here. It’s so cold, and it’s so painful…”
“Cold? Painful?”
Ye Moran straightened her back and let out a light chuckle filled with cruelty.
“Then, logically speaking, I have wronged you. You weren’t trying to run away; you just wanted a change of scenery, right?”
Su Ling was stunned. He hadn’t expected her to think that way. However, since she did, ‘Should I tell a small lie? It should be fine, right?’
Thinking he could muddle through and avoid punishment, a flash of relief crossed Su Ling’s heart. He immediately nodded.
“Yes, exactly. I just wanted to go somewhere else. I didn’t want to run away.”
“Hahahaha!”
Hearing this, Ye Moran suddenly burst into laughter. She laughed so hard she could not stand straight, and tears almost came to her eyes!
“My goodness, how did your acting suddenly become so terrible?”
“Your lies are so shallow. Or perhaps — “
“Do you think I am easy to fool!”
Ye Moran’s expression changed instantly. The smile on her face turned into a distorted, ferocious look. She grabbed the little fellow by the neck, choking him hard as she pressed him violently onto the bed!
“You are mine. You are my property, yet you are still thinking of lying to me and running away. Did you think you could just muddle through?!”
“Mgh! ~”
Su Ling struggled desperately with his hands and feet. A suffocating pain radiated from his neck, and waves of terror surged in his heart.
‘It’s over. It’s really over now!’
Ye Moran watched as the little fellow’s face gradually turned bright red from the lack of oxygen before she slowly released her grip.
The moment she let go, Su Ling gasped for breath, greedily sucking in every bit of air he could find. For a moment, he felt like he was truly going to die.
“Cough… *cough*… *sob*... I was wrong. Please, don’t. I beg you, Elder Sister.”
Su Ling curled up in the corner of the bed, his whole body shaking like a withered leaf in the autumn wind. The purple-red finger marks on his neck were exceptionally jarring. He panted heavily, tears blurring his face. The cat ears on his head were completely drooped, and he didn’t have even a shred of strength left to resist. Only a bone-deep fear remained.
Ye Moran stood up and looked down at him from above. The hostility in her eyes had not dissipated; instead, it was shrouded in an even thicker sense of possessiveness. Her fingertips tapped lightly on the edge of the bed. Each sound felt like it was drumming against Su Ling’s heart.
“You were wrong?”
She let out a soft laugh that was bone-chillingly cold.
“You say that every time, but when have you ever truly taken it to heart? One moment you admit your mistake, and the next you’re thinking of running away and lying to me. Little fellow, you have exhausted all of my patience.”
Su Ling shook his head in a panic. He scrambled forward, trying to grab the corner of Ye Moran’s clothes, his voice sobbing beyond recognition.
“I was really wrong. I won’t ever dare to do it again. I don’t want to run away anymore. I’ll be good. I’ll always be good…”
Su Ling was frantic and terrified. He was so scared that he could not think of anything else now. He didn’t want a change of scenery, and he didn’t want to leave. He only wanted his Elder Sister to stop being angry, to stop choking his neck, and to never let him experience that near-death suffocation again.
Kneeling on the ground, Lu Yu dug his fingernails hard into his palms. A bold and crazy thought suddenly popped into his mind! He looked at Qin Siyu beside him. His breathing became rapid, and his voice trembled as he spoke.
“Su… Su Ling, you… you have to be obedient. Otherwise, you’ll be like me and get thrown into the Young Slave Pavilion…”
His voice grew softer and softer until it was almost inaudible at the end.
Qin Siyu lowered her gaze, her eyes carrying a scrutinizing light. Lu Yu looked up cautiously, happening to meet her gaze. The moment their eyes met, he immediately looked away, not daring to look at her.
Qin Siyu leaned down slightly and reached out to stroke his trembling back. The movement was not exactly gentle, but it carried a hint of reassurance. Her voice was low and cold, meant only for Lu Yu to hear.
“Stay quiet. This is none of your business.”
Lu Yu nodded hurriedly, his voice as thin as a mosquito’s buzz. “Yes, Master.”
Ye Moran’s gaze swept over the two on the ground. Without another glance, it returned to Su Ling. She reached out and grabbed his slender wrist, the force making Su Ling hiss in pain. She leaned down, bringing her face close to Su Ling’s reddened eyes. Her tone was eerily soft.
“It seems your relationship isn’t very good!”
Su Ling was stunned. He did not understand why she would suddenly say that.
“Tell me, if I send you to the Young Slave Pavilion, will you become obedient?”
“No! No!”
Hearing those four words, Su Ling’s pupils dilated instantly, and his body began to tremble uncontrollably.
“I beg you, please no! I don’t want to go to that kind of place. I’ll die. I won’t become obedient. I’ll really die!”
“You won’t. I’ll give the people inside a heads-up. They will only be responsible for teaching you to be obedient; they won’t take your life.”
“No, it won’t work! Elder Sister, I was wrong. I’ll never run away again. I’ll definitely be good from now on. Please don’t send me to that kind of place. That… that’s not a place for humans…”
Hearing this, Lu Yu’s body trembled slightly. The trace of guilt that had just risen in his eyes vanished instantly, replaced by an even deeper hatred!
‘Heh, “not a place for humans”? Is he saying that I am not human? As expected, this guy has always been high and mighty, living in the favor of others. He has no idea how people like us — those he considers subhuman — survive in that kind of hell! He should be sent in there to experience what that place is really like.’
“I was wrong… I was really wrong… I won’t run anymore, and I won’t lie to you again. I’ll do whatever you want. Just don’t send me there… I beg you, Elder Sister…”
Su Ling was truly terrified — terrified to the extreme, to the point where even his breathing trembled. The moment the words “Young Slave Pavilion” came out of her mouth, it became the most horrifying nightmare in his heart.
Ye Moran leaned down, slowly approaching him. Her warm breath brushed against his burning earlobe, her tone low and obsessive.
“If you want me to temporarily hold off on sending you there, that’s fine. But you must remember that you are mine. From head to toe, inside and out, every strand of hair, and every ear is mine. You aren’t allowed to cry, you aren’t allowed to be afraid, and you aren’t allowed to have any thoughts of leaving me. Furthermore, you aren’t allowed to say a single extra word to anyone else. Be my Little Kitten obediently, and I will keep you by my side. Otherwise…”
She paused, a flash of ruthlessness crossing her eyes. Her voice was cold to the bone.
“I will personally send you to the Young Slave Pavilion and let you stay in that ‘place not fit for humans’ for the rest of your life!”
Su Ling nodded frantically, his sobbing voice broken and submissive.
“I’ll remember… I’ll remember everything… I’ll be good. I’ll always be good…”
