“Um… are you okay?”
Bai Yao was still a bit timid, not daring to look at Qiu Ye.
He had heard about Qiu Ye fighting before, but seeing it with his own eyes made him a bit apprehensive.
Qiu Ye sat with his legs crossed, grinning.
“It’s fine, a flawless speedrun! What man hasn’t fought a few times?”
‘I’ve never fought…’
So, Qiu Ye really was a Wolfdog! He looked fierce, majestic, and handsome, but he was actually very friendly.
Whenever someone threatened his owner or spoke ill of them, he would bare his teeth and pounce—he was extremely protective.
Some of these descriptions weren’t quite right, and Bai Yao almost laughed at his own thoughts.
[The “Hero Saving the Beauty” trope never goes out of style! Qiu Ye taught the neighbor who spoke ill of you behind your back a lesson, filling your heart with feelings of admiration, worship, and gratitude~]
[Your relationship has heated up! But stay grounded. Even if a thirty-year-old could suck up the earth, don’t act like you’re desperate for it~]
The smile that had just appeared vanished instantly.
Bai Yao thought he might admire Qiu Ye because Qiu Ye was indeed better than him in every aspect, but why did the system make it sound so ambiguous?!
‘Where did this heated-up relationship and desperation come from?’
[Received Phase Reward: Easy Makeup Artifact!]
‘A Phase Reward?’
The last one was on the fourth day of quitting smoking and drinking, and this one was when his “feelings” had supposedly heated up…
The former was for health, and the latter was for love? In that case, there would probably be a similar reward once his career made progress.
The three major things in life~ a certain Chinyu was a loser in all three categories.
At the desk less than two meters away, Qiu Ye glanced at Bai Yao from the side.
He didn’t know what the guy was muttering to himself.
His usually indifferent face was now full of expression.
One moment he was tilting his head and biting his nails in distress, the next his eyes were wide with shock as he froze in place, and then he seemed a little excited, smiling until his eyes narrowed and his cute aegyo sal appeared.
It was as if he were immersed in his own little world.
Bai Yao stood up and opened the wardrobe.
Sure enough, he saw a package with his name on it inside.
‘Is the wardrobe a spawn point for supplies now?’
Some kind of makeup artifact—he would never wear makeup in this lifetime anyway…
He would rather have more money!
Giving him items only forced him to find ways to hide them.
He had already tucked those women’s clothes into the bottom of the wardrobe, terrified of someone finding them.
After stuffing the package deep into the wardrobe, Bai Yao closed the door.
When he turned around, he saw Qiu Ye looking at him with a strange expression.
He felt uncomfortable and looked away guiltily.
“What?”
In his subconscious panic, he hid his hands behind his back.
He looked like a shy little girl pretending to be calm, but he realized it a moment later and suppressed his feminine posture.
Qiu Ye was already used to it. Fortunately, Bai Yao was good-looking enough that it didn’t feel out of place.
If he were a 200-pound man, Qiu Ye would be so disgusted he’d want to hit him.
“Want to go eat?”
“Eating out?”
Bai Yao hesitated.
He didn’t want to change clothes, and he had blisters on his feet, so he didn’t really want to leave.
But then he remembered how Qiu Ye had just protected his owner, so he nodded.
“I’ll change.”
He grabbed his casual clothes and ran to the bathroom.
Qiu Ye didn’t even bother to tease him.
It wasn’t like he enjoyed looking at another man’s body.
A moment later, Bai Yao returned to the dorm, frowning and tugging at his waistband.
“What’s wrong?”
The waistband was loose… It looked like if he let go, the pants would fall straight down.
Bai Yao held his waistband as he walked to the mirror.
When he let go, the pants barely clung to his waist.
With just a little movement, they began to slide down to his hips.
That mountain climb had caused his chest to grow and his waist to shrink.
He couldn’t even wear his pants anymore.
“I need to change my pants…”
“You probably need to buy new ones. Those obviously don’t fit, right?”
Bai Yao nodded, feeling like life wasn’t worth living.
Plus, he had to buy them in person this time.
His body had changed so much that he had no idea what size he needed, so online shopping was out of the question.
After changing into a pair of drawstring sweatpants, Bai Yao tidied up his appearance and followed Qiu Ye out.
He followed like a little sidekick, half a step behind Qiu Ye, constantly watching his behavior to act as manly as possible.
“Should we go to the mall after dinner to buy clothes?”
Qiu Ye asked, looking back.
“I need to buy a jacket too.”
“Um… yeah.”
“Walk faster. You’re so slow.”
Bai Yao rolled his eyes and hurried to catch up.
It wasn’t that he wanted to stay behind; Qiu Ye was tall and had long legs.
With the same walking pace, he naturally fell behind.
Of course, he actually preferred being in the back.
Having someone lead the way made him feel more relaxed.
They found a restaurant Qiu Ye liked on the student street.
After eating, they called a ride-hail car to the nearby Commercial Pedestrian Street.
It wasn’t until they arrived that Bai Yao realized the street looked awfully familiar… especially that Milk Tea Shop not far away!
The Clerk was busy inside! And the alleyway next to it!
He had been here when he wore women’s clothes!
While Bai Yao was looking around, Qiu Ye walked straight toward the Milk Tea Shop.
“Wait!”
He jumped, quickly catching up.
“The milk tea there isn’t good.”
He instinctively tried to stop him out of guilt.
“I had it a couple of days ago. It was okay.”
‘You actually drank it? A couple of days ago?’
Bai Yao couldn’t think of an excuse to stop him, so he had no choice but to follow Qiu Ye to the shop.
He kept his head down, glancing at the alley next to the store.
He could vaguely see the image of a figure in a shirt and short skirt, wearing a mask, standing timidly at the entrance.
‘I won’t be recognized, will I?’
“Do you want one?”
Qiu Ye turned back and asked Bai Yao, who didn’t dare get close.
The Clerk followed his gaze.
Bai Yao’s heart tightened, and he quickly shook his head.
“Hey, beautiful, why not try one?” the Clerk greeted with a smile.
“I wanted to treat you last time.”
‘He actually recognized me! Damn it!’
Bai Yao pretended not to hear and looked down at his phone.
“You two know each other?”
Qiu Ye leaned against the counter and asked curiously while waiting for the milk tea.
“This guy usually acts like it’s the end of the world if he has to leave the house.”
Recalling Bai Yao’s behavior that night compared to now, the Clerk nodded.
“Social anxiety, right?”
“Probably?”
“Are you her boyfriend?”
Qiu Ye almost burst out laughing.
He was about to explain, but Bai Yao suddenly grabbed his arm and pulled him aside.
“What is it?”
‘If you two keep talking about me wearing women’s clothes, I’m going to be exposed!’
Bai Yao showed him his phone screen, making up an excuse.
“Look, what do you think of these pants?”
“Cargo pants? They’re alright.”
Qiu Ye glanced at the street.
“There are clothing stores everywhere. Just go inside and try some on. Why are you looking online?”
“Um…”
“The milk tea is ready!”
Bai Yao breathed a sigh of relief, bought the milk tea, and Qiu Ye didn’t seem interested in chatting with the Clerk anymore, leading him around the Commercial Pedestrian Street.
They entered a clothing store at random.
Bai Yao stood still without saying a word, scanning the mannequins, while Qiu Ye casually called over the Guide.
“Guide, pick out two pairs of pants for him and a light jacket for me.”
The Guide was stunned for a moment.
She looked at Bai Yao a few times before she could barely confirm his gender.
“Mister? These pants sell very well. Do you want to try size 165?”
Bai Yao nodded expressionlessly, took the pants, and walked toward the fitting room.
‘Why does this fitting room only have a curtain… What if someone barged in?’
He grumbled internally.
After trying on several sizes, his face was full of gloom.
‘This isn’t working…’ Most men’s pants either had a waist that was too large or a hip circumference that was too small.
They were incredibly uncomfortable.
Although sweatpants could be tightened with a drawstring, the crotch and legs were baggy and looked sloppy, which didn’t fit his aesthetic.
“Maybe you’re suited for women’s pants,” Qiu Ye, who had already bought his jacket, commented as he held his shopping bag.
“Seriously, what man has a butt as big as yours?”
Bai Yao glared at Qiu Ye in anger and huffed as he went back to change.
