Roy put on a luxurious golden suit once more. He stepped toward Floleen, bowed, and extended his hand. “Miss Floleen, I am Second Prince Roy Kalixi. Would you do me the honor of sharing a dance?”
Roy even emphasized his status as the Second Prince of the Kalishi Empire.
He lifted his head to look at the three beautiful girls before him, and he was once again struck by Floleen’s beauty.
Her dignified and elegant aura was in no way inferior to his own sister’s. She wasn’t particularly tall, but her curves were perfect.
Her platinum-blonde hair, crimson eyes, and unique charm were captivating. Most importantly, Floleen was an Elf.
Those pointed elven ears paired with silver earrings shaped like small bat wings made him want to reach out and taste her.
Simply put, she was breathtakingly beautiful. It would be worth losing ten years of one’s life just for a single glance.
Roy felt an increasing urge to conquer this delicate flower. ‘What kind of illness does Charlotte have? How could he ignore such a beautiful fiancée at home to go chasing other noble ladies every day? In my opinion, he must have a tumor in his head the size of his own brain.’
However, Floleen, who had just finished arguing with the other two girls, was in a foul mood. She merely spared Roy a glance. “I’m not interested. Go find someone else.”
Others might fear the title of Second Prince, but Floleen did not care in the slightest.
Although her family only held the rank of Count, no one would trade that Earldom even for a Dukedom.
First, her family belonged to the absolute Neutral Faction. Second, they were wealthy—so wealthy that they didn’t need to care about anyone’s opinion.
Moreover, the Weiss Domain was a hub for various emerging industries.
Whether it was the most advanced Magic Tools or the newest magical creations, they always appeared in the Weiss Domain first.
Roy was stunned. Hadn’t everyone told him that no one would refuse him?
Why did Floleen reject him the moment they met?
Roy was about to lose his temper, but he suddenly remembered that he couldn’t afford to offend House Weiss.
They were the one family in all of Kalic that no one dared to cross. If he offended them and they decided to provide financial support to someone else, he would be finished.
Money would always be a powerful force in this world.
House Weiss possessed a Magic that even a Genius like Charlotte could not master: Infinite Gold Coins.
Even Lilia, who wasn’t particularly sensitive to politics, realized how foolish the Second Prince was being.
With the alliance between House Weiss and the Misty Moon Family, and the fact that this prince had already offended Charlotte, there was no way House Weiss would show him any kindness.
Floleen was already irritable because that blonde Holy Maiden had just asked her, “Why is your husband dancing with another woman instead of you?”
Being invited by Roy now only made her more frustrated. ‘Where did Charlotte go? Why hasn’t he come to find me for a dance? Even if I don’t know how, he could teach me.’
Floleen also wanted to show off in front of the nobles, proving that she was Charlotte’s legitimate fiancée.
She was absolutely furious!
Roy stood frozen in embarrassment, unable to move forward or retreat. To save face, he decided to give it his all.
“Miss Floleen, I believe the cooperation between the Imperial Family and House Weiss can start with the two of us. You don’t like your marriage to Charlotte, do you? I can persuade my Father to cancel it. I believe that in the future, House Weiss won’t need to rely on a Marquis. Your own house could be promoted to the rank of Marquis. What do you think?”
Roy was painting a grand picture. To an ordinary noble, this might have seemed like the ultimate honor.
But Floleen was clearly not an ordinary person; she was an Elf.
She was even willing to give up her noble status to elope with Charlotte.
Why would she care about such small favors? Not to mention, this prince’s words carried no weight. He was nothing but a clown.
However, Floleen was still obsessed with why Charlotte hadn’t invited her yet, and her teeth felt a bit itchy with annoyance.
She grabbed a fork from the nearby table, snatched a piece of beef from Lilia’s plate, and stuffed it into her mouth. She chewed forcefully. “Can’t you see who is standing next to me?”
Lilia was stunned. ‘Why is she stealing my food? If she wants to eat, she can get her own. Why take it from my plate?’
She looked at Floleen unhappily and then stuffed another piece of meat into her own mouth.
Floleen didn’t care. Under Roy’s watchful gaze, she specifically pointed at Clecia.
Roy was suddenly at a loss because Clecia was looking at him with a mischievous smirk.
“Oh, Brother, you must be joking. If you are qualified to promote House Weiss to the rank of Marquis, then am I qualified to talk to our Father and promote the Misty Moon Family to a Dukedom?”
He had messed up; he was trying to show off in front of someone who knew better.
Clecia was essentially asking him, ‘Who do you think you are, thinking you have the authority to grant titles?’
His Imperial Majesty was still very much alive. For Roy to say such things was undoubtedly a challenge to Emperor Bartel’s authority.
His usual strategy of making empty promises had failed completely.
Clecia sneered. “Prince, if you want to lure in noble ladies, please be mindful of the status you use when you speak. Oh, and it’s best to find a place where no other members of the Royal Family are present. Otherwise, it’s far too easy for your lies to be exposed.”
Hearing her words, Roy’s pride was utterly shattered.
Once again, he felt the mocking gazes of the people around him.
If he lost face here, everything that happened today would become a nightmare that would haunt him for the rest of his life.
He turned toward Lilia.
“Then, Miss Lilia, could you…”
‘Why is he bothering me now?’ Lilia wondered. She was just there to eat. Why was he annoying her?
Lilia gave him an unhappy look and then went back to eating, acting completely indifferent.
Though she was socially awkward, she could see the lust in his eyes and knew she should stay far away from him.
“I suggest you stay away from me. My Father specifically told me that I could come out, but I had to keep my distance from you. I’m a kind person and I don’t like seeing people die. If you come any closer and Duke Ryan finds out, he will definitely beat you to death.”
The expression on Roy’s face grew uglier. Having been rejected repeatedly, he was starting to lose control of his emotions.
It was that same feeling of suffering in silence.
He didn’t dare to get angry, as Lilia’s father was the Grand Duke Protector and the Duke of the North, Ryan Karen. He doted on Lilia immensely.
If Roy actually did anything out of line, let alone being the Second Prince, even the Emperor himself might not be able to save him.
He had to admit defeat. Retreat was the only option.
Roy, whose face had been slapped by rejection after rejection, looked as dark as the bottom of a pot.
He turned his gaze back to the dance floor, but Charlotte and Bella had disappeared.
He rubbed his eyes and continued to search. Charlotte and Bella were truly gone.
‘Where did the two of them go?!’
A bad omen rose in Roy’s heart. ‘No, no, something is very wrong!’
How could he not even get an invitation from a single beautiful girl?
He hadn’t even touched Bella’s hand, yet Charlotte had just taken her away?
Roy recalled the way Bella looked while dancing with Charlotte, appearing as if she were enduring great humiliation—though in reality, Charlotte had been squeezing her rear the entire time.
At that moment, Roy felt like a powerless husband. His fingernails dug deep into his palms…
He ran away in a pathetic state. He had to kill Charlotte!
Rage had stripped him of his ability to think clearly.
Tonight! It had to be now!
