Bai Yao had no idea how to stop Lin Mingxin from going on his date!

They were just roommates, and not even the close kind.

Looking at the triggered reactions from Wang Zuhao and Chen Zhilong in the chat, Bai Yao realized it wasn’t just the system that didn’t want Lin Mingxin to go on his date.

“Who told you to go a whole month since school started without talking to a single girl?”

Lin Mingxin teased casually.

Bai Yao had no intention of looking for a girlfriend.

Using the other roommates’ threats didn’t work.

He racked his brain, trying to find the right words to stop Lin Mingxin from leaving.

Lin Mingxin stripped off his clothes and pants, standing in his underwear as he pulled out a set of casual clothes.

Sensing the gaze behind him, he turned and locked eyes with Bai Yao.

Seeing Lin Mingxin fully dressed, shoes on, and grabbing his phone and charging cable to leave, Bai Yao made one final attempt.

“Can’t you just… not go?”

Bai Yao steeled his heart and nodded vigorously.

“Yeah! I’m afraid of the dark!”

Lin Mingxin almost burst out laughing.

He turned back, only to see Bai Yao with his brow slightly furrowed.

His almond-shaped eyes were filled with a mix of tension and anticipation, though his gaze shifted away as if he were terrified of being rejected.

He looked like a cautious stray cat.

It was obvious that Bai Yao knew his request was unreasonable, yet he had struggled and hesitated before finally speaking up.

Lin Mingxin’s movements paused for a moment, but he still pushed the door open.

“Stop being a freak.”

Bai Yao slumped onto the desk, feeling like he had completely humiliated himself.

After closing the door behind him, Lin Mingxin felt his heart racing a little.
