The Dragon Mother had a familiar feeling, but she couldn’t quite put her finger on it.
Regardless, this was surely the reason her daughter had returned home.
“Who is that girl?” the Dragon Mother asked bluntly, not overthinking the matter.
“She’s my wife,” Jukkido Simon said.
“You, a female dragon, brought a wife home?” the Dragon Mother questioned.
“Is there a problem with that?” Jukkido Simon retorted firmly.
“I told you to bring the child back for me to see, and you brought me a wife? Where did you get a wife? You’re a Red Dragon; I thought you would have eaten her by now,” the Dragon Mother said.
“The child is the one I had with her. She’s quite rebellious, but I’ll bring her back,” Simon replied.
The Dragon Mother’s gaze suddenly sharpened. “Is she the Demon Sword?” she asked coldly.
“Huh? How did you know?” Simon froze, letting out a cry of surprise.
She had originally intended to hide the Truth from her mother.
She didn’t want to tell her about Feini’s true form because she knew the Dragon Mother would be furious if she found out that Simon had stripped the Demon Sword from herself.
“Because we Red Dragons have no reproductive capacity. Our species continues through the Magic Sword Phoenix,” the Dragon Mother explained.
“What do you mean?” Simon asked.
“It’s simple. You were birthed by the Demon Sword using my flesh and blood. It creates new Red Dragons by consuming our flesh, and then it detaches from our bodies. Since I don’t see the Demon Sword on you, I know a new little Red Dragon must have been born,” the Dragon Mother explained.
Simon was utterly stunned, her small mind unable to process this revelation.
Feini was also eavesdropping from the shadows. Although this Truth was somewhat terrifying, it was actually quite logical when she thought about it.
Given the personalities of these Red Dragons — natural clean-freaks, narcissists, and violent maniacs who loved and trusted no one but themselves — how could a high-tier species like them ever fall in love?
Furthermore, Ancient Dragons were generally frigid. If they could produce multiple dragon babies normally, it would have been easy for them to rule the world with their combat power.
In reality, even the Red Dragon species, which had the largest population, only had numbers in the single digits.
Most other Ancient Dragons were the only ones of their kind, such as the Hongshan Dragon, a Giant Earth Dragon.
The Crimson Dragon Clan was actually considered numerous.
However, Feini had not inherited the original memories of the Demon Sword, so she had no idea it held such a secret.
‘So, I’m not just Jukkido Simon’s wife.’
‘I’m also Jukkido Simon’s father!’
Of course, a Demonic Beast could not be judged by the secular ethics of the Human Race.
While that was one way to put it, the reality was entirely different.
“Child, you were forged by the Witch using my right hand. I paid a small price compared to the previous Red Dragon, but you paid an even smaller one. I see that you aren’t missing anything, so what price did you pay to make the Demon Sword fall off?” the Dragon Mother asked.
“I…” Simon was momentarily speechless.
She hadn’t paid a price to get rid of the Demon Sword. Instead, she had crushed it and thrown it away.
She feared that saying this out loud would cause an immediate fallout between mother and daughter.
But why hadn’t her mother told her something this important earlier?
Well, her mother probably didn’t know that she had awakened her Dragon Breath and mastered the Art of Severance.
Even now, the Dragon Mother didn’t know that her daughter had broken through the constraints of being a Red Dragon.
Simon never told her mother anything, just as her mother never shared any secrets with her. They were a pair of purely “clean” mother and daughter.
“It seems you are hiding something from me.” The Dragon Mother’s eyes narrowed.
“Logically, the Demon Sword should be parasitic on our descendants. It cannot act independently. What exactly happened? Why has she become like this?”
“I can’t say, Mother.” Jukkido Simon shook her head, refusing to explain.
“It seems that we mother and daughter cannot avoid the fate of the Dragon Tribe killing one another,” the Dragon Mother said in a low voice.
A surging killing intent began to howl, and visible Battle Qi collided.
Jukkido Simon also knew that this battle was likely unavoidable. There were many things she simply couldn’t say. For the sake of enjoying her retirement with her wife, she would have to kill her mother and seize her home. It was incredibly shameless and despicable.
However, this couldn’t be analyzed with the common concepts of the Human Race.
The philosophy of the Dragon Tribe was the Law of the Strong — it was either kill or be killed.
Even so, Simon’s reasoning was considered quite absurd among the entire Dragon Tribe.
An Ancient Dragon actually going to war with her own kin for the sake of love was unheard of.
Boom!
In an instant, the Dragon Mother’s fist slammed into Jukkido Simon’s face.
Simon was sent reeling backward, but a large patch of Dragon Scales sprouted on her face like a half-mask, blocking her mother’s teleport-like straight punch.
“I let you have that one, Mother. I won’t bully you since you only have one hand left,” Jukkido Simon said cockily.
“You’ve grown up, haven’t you? Then let me see how tough your wings really are.” The Dragon Mother swung her arm violently, launching a left hook at point-blank range.
In a flash, Jukkido Simon raised both hands, crossing them to catch the Dragon Mother’s left hook.
She actually used a grappling move to pin her mother’s arm.
With a flip, she used the momentum to pin her mother to the ground, twisting her elbow and wrist. She only needed to apply a little force to snap her mother’s arm.
“This is Human Martial Arts I learned at the God and Demon Academy. Only you are worthy of being my practice partner,” Jukkido Simon said calmly.
“Mother, I don’t want to hurt you. Don’t ask any more questions, and please leave.”
“You really underestimate me, daughter,” the Dragon Mother said coldly.
*Thud! Thud! Thud!*
The ground began to vibrate from a source of pure power.
Even though her entire arm was clamped by her daughter, the Dragon Mother’s feet actually left the ground as she slowly stood back up.
She used that one thin arm to lift Jukkido Simon’s entire body into the air.
Jukkido Simon’s expression turned grim. She hardened her heart and applied more strength, but she found it impossible to press her mother’s arm down, let alone break it.
Crack!
The protective Dragon Scales on her face were smashed, and she was sent flying backward.
Crack!
At the same time, however, Jukkido Simon managed to twist the Dragon Mother’s arm out of its socket.
The Dragon Mother took the opportunity to break free.
Even though her arm was dislocated, she felt nothing, and it would recover in the next second.
Such a minor injury was child’s play to the Battle-hardened Red Dragon King, who had survived countless battles.
The Human Martial Arts that Jukkido Simon practiced were completely ineffective against her battle-hardened mother.
