The afternoon classes ended abruptly in a subtle atmosphere.
Ange stood on the podium, looking at the three students below.
She suddenly understood why her own teachers back then always liked to brag and chat in class instead of giving a proper lecture.
Bragging was indeed much more interesting and relaxing than dryly imparting knowledge.
For nearly three hours, she had basically just read from the textbook about the ecological habits, weaknesses, and standard response methods of several common Low-level Demons.
The content was so boring that she almost yawned herself.
She only managed to maintain her professional integrity thanks to Ingrid’s sparkling eyes of admiration and the constant scratching of her pen on her notebook.
When the eerie, unsettling bell — which sounded as if it came from an ancient clock tower — rang to signify the end of class, Ange announced the dismissal almost immediately.
“Class dismissed!”
This was the first time she had appeared in the sight of other students and teachers at the official dismissal time in her capacity as Teacher Ange.
As the group walked out of the empty classroom, they immediately attracted many curious glances.
Ange, in particular, was exceptionally eye-catching in the crowd with her rare long silver hair, her tall and curvaceous figure, and her Black Silk Hunting Outfit that was both hot and cool.
Many passing students and teachers showed surprised and inquisitive looks, whispering about when such an unfamiliar, mature female mentor had joined the Academy.
Normally, teachers and students should go their separate ways after class.
However, Ange’s Small Squad was a special case; they all lived in the same Old Dormitory Building.
Thus, the group of four — Ange, Huayin, Ingrid, and Sakika — naturally walked together, forming a wonderful sight.
Huayin’s signature long fiery-red hair and Ingrid’s bright blonde hair were quickly recognized.
After all, the identities of these two young ladies were no secret in the Academy.
The surrounding gazes were mostly speculating about the identities of Ange and the quiet black-haired girl.
Whenever someone tried to approach them or pry, Huayin would always drive them back with a sharp glare and a cold remark: “Could you have some manners, please?”
Her presence as a rich young miss was on full display.
Finally, they left the Teaching Building area and returned to the relatively secluded front of the Old Dormitory Building.
Out of habit, Ange pulled out her cell phone and skillfully opened a delivery app, muttering to herself.
‘What should I eat tonight… Braised Chicken with Rice? Or Spicy Incense Pot? I want pizza again…’
Her stingy appearance immediately drew Huayin’s dissatisfaction. The red-haired young lady waved her hand with her usual flamboyance.
“Forget delivery! Look at how pathetic you are! Tonight is my treat. I’ll take you all out for a good meal!”
“Is Classmate Huayin treating us? Hooray!”
Ingrid responded happily at once, her face full of anticipation.
Sakika’s eyes also brightened slightly as she stated the most cost-effective fact in her flat, emotionless tone. “A free meal? That’s great.”
Ange followed Sakika’s lead almost subconsciously.
“A free meal? That’s great…” As soon as the words left her mouth, she felt they were inappropriate.
She quickly cleared her throat, trying to regain some of her dignity as a Teacher.
“Ahem, I mean, thank you for your generosity, Miss Huayin. We are most grateful.”
Huayin snorted at their reactions and raised her chin triumphantly.
“Hmph, just watch. With one phone call, I can make the best chef get up from the break room specifically to work for us!”
Hearing this, Sakika blinked her seemingly innocent black eyes and raised a question with the rigorous air typical of a science student.
“But it’s dinner time right now. In the catering industry, no matter the shop, wouldn’t they still be working during the meal rush?”
Huayin: “…”
She was choked up by Sakika’s blunt question. A trace of subtle embarrassment flashed across her face before she forced herself to stay calm and coughed twice.
“Ahem! What do you know! The place I’m taking you to… the chefs there might not even work once a day! They’ll be firing up the stove specifically for us, understand? It’s a symbol of status!”
Looking at Huayin’s “what I say is the truth” expression, Ange couldn’t help but laugh inwardly, but she still maintained an amazed expression on the surface.
“I see! It seems we’re going to enjoy some luxury today thanks to you, Miss!”
At this moment, her heart was filled with anticipation for the free feast.
She didn’t notice at all that the red-haired young lady beside her, who had vowed to treat them, was thinking about much more than just the dinner menu.
Huayin glanced out of the corner of her eye at Ange, who was completely unaware and secretly rejoicing over saving money on a meal.
A smile curled on her lips, a mix of vengeful pleasure and a certain mischievous intent.
‘Eat, eat as much as you want, my dear Teacher Ange…’
‘Once you’ve had your fill and we return…’
‘Get ready to watch me mess up your bed!’
‘Hmph, let’s see if you can still laugh then!’
She could hardly wait to see what kind of wonderful expression would appear on that face — which always wore a dead-fish look or an indifferent expression — when Ange discovered her bedding had met with an “accident.”
Ange asked, “So where are we going? Do you want me to drive? The Academy will still reimburse me for this bit of gas money.”
Sakika remarked, “Teacher Ange actually has a car? Incredible.”
Ingrid added, “Teacher Ange’s car is a Limited Edition Sports Car! It’s so cool!”
Huayin countered, “You’re overthinking it. That’s the Academy’s car; they’re just letting her drive it.”
Sakika nodded. “I see.”
“Hey! Give me some face, Huayin!” Ange barked.
