Charlotte was in the library studying Fourth Tier Magic when a voice suddenly called out from behind him.
“Charlotte!”
It had been a while since Charlotte last heard that voice.
“Bella, I don’t recall giving you any orders to come here.”
“Can’t I come over without an order? This is a place where I’ve left precious memories…” Bella acted as if Charlotte’s home was her own, leaning her body in close to him.
Bella had thought Charlotte would be happy to see her, but the man remained as cold as ever. She still wasn’t quite used to his indifference.
“Why haven’t you called the servants back yet? How long has the staff been on leave for…” Bella’s figure swayed in front of Charlotte.
“I see your skin is getting itchy again. You dare meddle in my family’s affairs?”
As Charlotte spoke, he delivered a sharp slap to Bella’s backside.
With a crisp “slap,” the talkative Bella instantly shuddered and shut her mouth.
“If you came here simply to provoke my anger, I suggest you’d better not come at all. As you can see, I am studying magic.” Charlotte’s tone sounded extremely blunt.
Bella felt incredibly wronged. Last time they met, he had given her clothes, yet even though she came wearing the clothes Charlotte liked, she was still getting scolded.
Of course, Bella couldn’t lose face. She responded with a bit of a fierce edge:
“Who would specifically come looking for a devil like you! I can’t hate you enough…”
“Slap!” Another one.
Bella clutched her backside. “I have business! I have business! Stop hitting me…”
Even though she said that, Bella actually felt a slight thrill in her heart—this was simply how she and Charlotte interacted.
“If you have business, speak quickly.”
Charlotte set down the Magic Book.
Bella leaned in toward Charlotte, gesturing for him to comfort her. “Anyway, you’re busy, so I assume you won’t be going to the First Prince’s banquet tonight.”
Since Bella was being obedient, Charlotte saw no need to hit her further. He casually began to rub the “peach” that he might have hurt with his strikes.
“I received an invitation, so I’ll likely go.”
On the surface, Charlotte was still part of the Neutral Faction, so it was only natural for him to show his face. The Prince’s banquet was the perfect opportunity to make an appearance before everyone.
“Then I recommend you’d better not go.” After being rubbed by Charlotte, Bella tried to sit on his lap.
Charlotte pulled his legs back in disdain and moved to the other side. “What, are you planning to make a move on me again?”
Bella’s aggrieved expression returned. “Yeah, there are quite a few people who want to kill you… they all see you as a thorn in their side. Never mind the First Prince, even the Second Prince seems to want to take you out. Those two have interests that align quite well with that animal, Karl.”
“So you mean to say that if I go tonight, I might not come back?” Charlotte sounded somewhat helpless.
Bella pinned down Charlotte’s restless legs and forced herself onto his lap.
“Pretty much. Karl told me to act. The other two probably want to see whose side you’ll stand on. But for a person like you, no matter who you choose, the other side will want to eliminate you, right?”
It was indeed true. If Charlotte couldn’t be used by them, it was best if he didn’t exist in the world at all. But Charlotte wouldn’t stand with anyone.
Seeing Bella sitting on his lap, Charlotte’s hands began to move, pinching the soft flesh at her waist and gradually applying pressure.
“I understand.”
Bella let out a soft moan from the pain of the pinch, but she endured it.
“So… hiss… it’s best not to go. Tonight, run if you can.”
Charlotte pinched harder. “Impossible. All the young nobles will be there tonight. If I don’t go, it would be far too conspicuous. I don’t want to have a falling out with them just yet.”
“Ah~”
Bella grabbed Charlotte’s wrist to get him to stop, and only then did he let go.
She aggrievedly stroked the spot that had just been pinched.
“Anyway, I just came to give you the news… I don’t care what happens to you, just remember to undo the Magic Contract before you die. Don’t take me down with you…”
“You’re trying to negotiate terms with me?!” Charlotte’s volume suddenly rose.
Bella knew Charlotte had taken the bait—right into her hands! What followed should be…
“At first, I thought that by choosing you, at least I had a smart man. Looking at it now, it’s undoubtedly a suicide mission.”
“Heh, Miss Bella, have I not disciplined you for too long? Have I given you too much face?”
“What do you want to do?”
“Do you even have a choice in what I want to do?”
Charlotte knew Bella’s skin was truly itchy this time.
It just so happened that Charlotte had been getting bored studying magic lately, so he would use her as a little spice for his life.
Usually, he was afraid of hurting Floleen, but Bella was different.
Although she had a small frame, she was a Fourth-Rank Swordsman; her physical fitness was on a much higher level.
…
However, this time Bella no longer felt the same dread and fear as before. In fact… she was a little expectant.
She was actually quite happy to see Charlotte treat her this way.
Such a brilliant young talent was actually obsessed with her body, sinking into depravity because of her.
Bella had always believed that it was her charm that had changed Charlotte, giving him these strange hobbies.
Goodness, although Bella often called Charlotte a devil, in reality, she was the one.
She was able to tempt such a polite noble and turn him into a beast controlled by desire. It was truly wonderful.
Seeing Bella starting to act all fidgety, Charlotte knew that this Grand Duke’s Eldest Daughter, whose head was filled with strange thoughts, must be fantasizing again.
But it didn’t matter; Charlotte didn’t mind. Based on today’s performance, she was loyal enough to him.
A loyal puppy naturally deserved a little reward.
“Will it be the Magic Whip or something else later…”
Bella thought to herself. Listening to the rustling sound of Charlotte flipping through his tools, her anticipation grew.
But Bella wouldn’t be this calm for much longer.
With a snap of his fingers, Charlotte used Fire Magic to light a Magic Candle he held in his hand.
Even through the black gauze covering her eyes, Bella saw a sliver of light in the darkness, flickering with the wind.
“Eh?!”
Bella was shocked. What was that? Just as she tried to squint her eyes to identify it…
As a powerful Fourth-Rank Swordsman, this level of temperature was completely unable to break her defense, but… it was really ticklish!
Bella was extremely ticklish!
In an instant, Bella understood what Charlotte was holding in his hand. A candle…
“Heh heh, weren’t you quite calm just a moment ago?” Something inside Charlotte was indeed being released. At this moment, his lost emotions seemed to have been found again…
