The dim room was only illuminated by the cold moonlight shining on the floor. From the bed came the sound of fabric rubbing together and the gentle creaking of the frame.
Fingers were slightly cool, skin was burning hot.
“Yiren…”
Breaths approached, intertwining.
Merging.
“Wah!”
Lin Yiren snapped her eyes open, breathing heavily, fine beads of sweat covering her flushed face.
She turned her head; sunlight was draped across the bed, and the two blankets beside her—one large and one small—were empty.
It was a dream. How could she have such a… Spring Dream? Lin Yiren rolled over and buried her face into the pillow, her entire body feeling weak.
Besides, why was she being pressed down in her own dream? This feeling was way too strange! It was all Chen Zhaoyue’s fault; the things she did in the backyard last night must have left too deep of an impression.
The person under the covers brainwashed herself for a long while before finally sitting up.
Lin Yiren slid her feet into her slippers, intending to go wash up. When she stood up, however, she suddenly froze.
Why was there a sticky feeling?
A few seconds later, the girl’s face turned as red as a tomato, and she ran to the bathroom with her legs pressed together.
This damn Spring Dream!

“Why do you keep staring at me?”
Chen Zhaoyue put down her bowl and asked the girl in front of her.
“Ah, no, it’s nothing.” Lin Yiren lowered her head and shoveled rice into her mouth, her soft eyelashes shielding her eyes.
Chen Zhaoyue raised an eyebrow in confusion. It had been a long time since she had seen this secretive way of looking at her.
But it was probably a good thing? Trusting her sixth sense, she gave up on overthinking it.
“I combined the previous travel guide with my own impressions of Xicheng and sent a file to you.” Chen Zhaoyue pulled out her Smartphone.
“Have you been to Xicheng many times?” Lin Yiren looked up, her eyes bright.
“Hmm—three or four times, I think. I haven’t gone recently though.”
“Who did you go with?”
The investigative hint in her words made the corners of Chen Zhaoyue’s mouth curl upward.
“Let me think, it seems it was with…”
Those watery eyes stared at her without blinking.
“Who was it again?” Chen Zhaoyue’s elongated tone shifted into a thoughtful one.
Lin Yiren realized she was being teased. Her eyes flashed with annoyance, and she leaned back in her chair with her arms crossed.
“Tell me or don’t, see if I care.”
“Alright, I’ll tell you, I’ll tell you.” Chen Zhaoyue quickly stopped while she was ahead.
“I remember twice was for parties, and I went once with Tang Chaoyun and the others. I didn’t actually get to explore much during those two party trips.”
“What kind of parties were they?”
Chen Zhaoyue didn’t expect Lin Yiren to be more interested in that. She leaned her chin on her hand, reminiscing.
“Well, like holding a party on a yacht. Um, once was on the rooftop of some building. There was Music, drinks, barbecue, things like that. They’d hire people to perform. It was pretty boring.”
After Chen Zhaoyue finished speaking, she saw Lin Yiren lost in thought and laughed, “Why? Do you want to go?”
“Ah, no, I don’t.” Lin Yiren snapped back to reality like she was waking from a dream, her teeth biting and gently grinding the soft flesh of her lip.
Yacht parties and things like that were things she had only seen in TV shows or novels; flashing lights and wine, it sounded like another world.
Yet Chen Zhaoyue called it “boring” when she spoke of it.
Lin Yiren imagined Chen Zhaoyue holding a wine glass amidst the noise, her movements languid and her expression indifferent. It was as if she didn’t fit in with her surroundings, yet her aura dominated the room, with the environment merely serving as her backdrop.
This image was so fitting that she felt it must have happened exactly like that.
But now… the Eldest Miss was smiling gently in front of her, her expressions vivid and warm.
Was she only like this with her? Was she like this with Tang Chaoyun and Luo Qing as well? Did the Eldest Miss, who found even yacht parties boring, feel happy when she went to Xicheng with her friends? Would this trip be even happier and more anticipated than the last one?
If Chen Zhaoyue was looking forward to it, then this had to be a perfect trip. Lin Yiren released the soft flesh that she had bitten into, picking up her Smartphone to check the file Chen Zhaoyue had sent her.
“Liuguang Beach and Fengmian Bay are all connected in this area, so we should be able to go to them together. I checked, and they regularly have Music festivals and light shows at night.” She had also looked up quite a bit of information, comparing it with the locations on her Smartphone.
“Yeah, I remember there’s a fish market nearby that’s worth visiting,” Chen Zhaoyue said.
“Lantern Alley also seems to have rave reviews, and there’s an old district near the coast—or we could drive along the coastal line first.” Lin Yiren turned her Smartphone toward Chen Zhaoyue, showing the coastal map.
“That works.”
“Then I’ll look into the place where we’re staying…”
“I’ve already booked the place to stay, an ocean-view room. If we need anything else, we can just book it then,” Chen Zhaoyue said with the air of someone with deep pockets.
“Um…” Lin Yiren pursed her lips, pinching the fabric of her pants.
“Then I’ll be responsible for finding the Restaurant, buying tickets, and things like that.” She silently counted the money she had saved up from her University part-time jobs and scholarships over the years.
Chen Zhaoyue was about to say, “You just need to be responsible for being beautiful,” but when she met Lin Yiren’s serious gaze, her words took a turn.
“Alright, then I’ll look forward to it.”
Lin Yiren nodded heavily, leaning back to continue looking.
“You can look later, we don’t leave until tomorrow anyway.” Chen Zhaoyue leaned forward, waving her slender fingers in front of Lin Yiren. “I have a big question.”
“What question?” Lin Yiren indeed put down her Smartphone after hearing this, her gaze focusing on the other’s face.
“It’s—have you bought your swimsuit yet!”
This was the indispensable part of the relaxed and romantic Xicheng trip Chen Zhaoyue had planned.
Lin Yiren’s gaze began to flicker, and her fingers curled unconsciously.
“I bought one.”
“Let me see what kind it is.”
“It’s just a normal style… the kind you’d probably wear by a pool,” Lin Yiren answered vaguely.
That meant it was a single piece of black, incredibly conservative.
But given Yiren’s level of shyness, it was within expectations. Chen Zhaoyue puffed out her cheeks.
“What about other clothes? You brought the clothes I gave you before, right?”
“It shouldn’t matter what I wear.”
Lin Yiren’s hands clasped together, nervously picking at her skin.
Chen Zhaoyue sighed in her heart.
The sky in Xicheng was clear and the sea was blue, with waves crashing against the reefs like shattered crystal. Many newlyweds would pick a good time to go there for wedding photos.
Although they hadn’t reached that stage yet, she also wanted to take the most beautiful photos there, which was why she had specially hand-picked the clothes.
“At least don’t wear those black gym shorts of yours,” Chen Zhaoyue said, slumping onto her arms as if all her strength had left her.
“Okay.”
The two of them were silent for a moment.
***
In the evening, Lin Yiren changed into her pajamas and went to Chen Zhaoyue’s room.
Ever since the first time they slept together, Xing Yao had firmly kept her Mamas together on one Bed.
After Xing Yao fell asleep, they would usually do their own thing or sometimes chat together.
But this time, while Chen Zhaoyue stroked her sleeping daughter’s face, she kept glancing over at Lin Yiren, only to see her quietly looking at her Smartphone.
What’s going on? Could it be she heard me sighing during the day? Chen Zhaoyue’s elegant eyebrows knit into a knot.
When it was time, Lin Yiren smoothly slid into the blankets. Chen Zhaoyue could only grit her teeth and turn off the light.
The room was pitch black.
Now, however, Lin Yiren made a move, her thin voice drifting over.
“Zhao Yue, are you looking forward to tomorrow’s trip?”
Asking such silly things.
Chen Zhaoyue let out a helpless smile.
“Of course I am.”
