The Dragon Tribe is notoriously petty and vengeful. If you release a dragon back to the mountains now, you’ll just face their revenge in the future.
“Ugh… I haven’t lost yet…”
Orange Sea Dream’s face was full of despair.
She hadn’t expected to stumble in such a ditch—dragon tears were streaming down her cheeks in anxiety.
She was terrified of dying, deeply unwilling, but her mouth remained stubborn.
Judging by overall strength, Blackie couldn’t possibly beat Miss Red Dragon.
As long as Miss Red Dragon didn’t get reckless, as long as she played the Sky Tyrant and didn’t give the Black Dragon a chance to get close for a melee, and just kept up a high-altitude bombardment for twenty-four hours, victory was assured.
But what Dragon Maid isn’t proud and headstrong?
None are willing to be a turtle hiding in its shell—they insist on a head-on fight, wanting to win beautifully.
Now look, they kicked the iron wall, lost the entire game, and even their life is at stake.
“Boss, thank you for your guidance, and also for looking after me in the past. Please take care of yourself from now on.”
But Heiqi Long didn’t go for the kill. Instead, she sincerely gave her thanks, then turned and dragged her battered body away.
“Blackie… you…”
Orange Sea Dream trembled all over when she heard this. She didn’t know where the strength came from, but she actually struggled to stand up.
She felt supreme humiliation, so furious she spat blood. A mere half-dragon dared to look down on her like this—it was even harder to endure than death.
Miss Red Dragon truly was a villain template, always forcing the protagonist to kill her, not allowing them to leave without her death.
She was clearly terrified of dying, but stubbornly refused to give up. What was the point?
But Heiqi Long had never intended to kill Orange Sea Dream—she just wanted to force her to retreat.
That wild fighting spirit she’d just had disappeared in an instant.
She was able to control her anger, and after subduing her enemy, she regained reason and calm.
This was completely different from the legendary Red Dragon.
Once a Red Dragon entered slaughter mode, it couldn’t be stopped in a short time—everything around had to be annihilated, friend or foe, until nothing remained.
There was no way to just finish a fight and enter a sage-like calm, as Blackie had.
Orange Sea Dream found it incredible and impossible to comprehend.
“What’s your relationship with Shijietang Simon?” Orange Sea Dream looked at the limping Heiqi Long’s back, her tone somewhat helpless and sorrowful.
She could no longer sense any fighting spirit or killing intent from Blackie—she really was just letting her go.
“Enemies.” Blackie replied blandly.
This only made Orange Sea Dream more certain that Blackie and Shijietang Simon’s relationship was extraordinary, because for our Dragon Tribe, parent-child relationships are generally that of enemies.
Qingshamu came up to support Heiqi Long and led her away from the scorched battlefield.
On the other side, Dragon Maid Weima Ana saw her master beaten to such a state—for the first time seeing her so weak—so she had no heart to fight the White Feather Dove any longer.
She rushed over to help Orange Sea Dream and led the club students to flee together.
Blue Little Octopus and the Stone Demon were the quickest to run away, so in the end, the only unlucky one left behind was Heian Zhua Mo.
And thus, this great battle of the century ended.
—————
The Pseudo-Demon Squad completely left the jurisdiction of the God and Demon Academy, but that didn’t mean they were safe.
It just meant they wouldn’t be hunted by the Academy’s forces for the time being.
In reality, the witches took no action at all—they simply watched us escape.
Only one Red Dragon chased after us—that was truly a miracle. Otherwise, escape wouldn’t have been so easy.
But even so, after the fight, Blackie collapsed—unconscious, unable to rise again.
White Feather Dove and Qingshamu could only each carry one, trudging onward across the perilous land of the Demon Domain.
Right now, the most miserable one had to be White Feather Dove— her younger sister was gravely wounded and unconscious, her mother had become a vegetable, with no idea if she could be saved.
Was there anything more painful than this?
“Don’t worry. Everything will get better.” Qingshamu patted White Feather Dove on the shoulder, comforting her.
“Mm.” Normally, White Feather Dove would retort back at her evil father, but now, she didn’t even have the energy to sigh.
But their luck was pretty good. Along the way, they didn’t run into any danger.
Instead, they found an abandoned wooden cart, where Feini and the Black Dragon could lie down—this sped up their escape.
That was good news, meaning they’d reached the Neutral Territory where humans were active.
But they couldn’t relax yet. Meeting people in the wild was just as dangerous as meeting monsters.
This wasn’t the Chaos Mountains; out here, the ones they’d meet weren’t necessarily adventurers—they could well be bandits.
Now, they desperately needed to find a safe human settlement, contact the Cathedral Knight Order as soon as possible, and find a secure place for Feini and Heiqi Long to recover and rest.
Qingshamu and White Feather Dove worked hard every day, pulling the cart.
In the shortest time possible, they reached the border between humans and demons and finally entered the United Kingdom.
White Feather Dove had never seen such a vast stretch of emerald grassland before. But there was no time for sightseeing—they pulled the little wooden cart and hurried on.
From a distance, they could already see a village on the other side of the river at the end of the grassland.
The two crossed the grassland and stepped onto the wooden bridge that spanned the river.
But at that moment, a large group of kingdom knights quickly appeared around them, surrounding the suspicious pair and their small cart.
Looking closely, that wasn’t a small village in the distance, but a frontier city.
After all, the place they came from—the other side of the green plain—was the road leading straight to the Demon Domain.
“Who are you? Why did you come out of the Demon Domain?” the Knight Commander of the kingdom questioned.
“We are…” White Feather Dove was about to take out her adventurer’s badge.
But Qingshamu raised a hand to stop her, then took off the broken mask on her own face.
Not only that, but the features of her face subtly shifted—almost no change, yet somehow completely different.
This was actually a kind of visual-disruption disguise magic, one of the special spells she used to infiltrate the God and Demon Academy.
Now, Qingshamu looked eighty percent similar to White Feather Dove, startling the kingdom knights.
It was such a strange feeling. At first glance, nothing seemed wrong, but on the second look, weren’t these twin sisters?
“I am [Southern Hero—Sword of the Bright Moon].” Qingshamu said calmly.
As she spoke, her magic activated, and sword after sword of Moonlight Power appeared on her body.
The kingdom knights were shocked again. Most of their hostility faded instantly.
Though they didn’t recognize the hero by sight, they’d all heard tales of the Southern Hero’s Moonlight Swords.
Just like that, Qingshamu and White Feather Dove were allowed into the Frontier Fortress.
But they didn’t linger there; after getting a map of the area, they borrowed two big-headed horses and quickly set off for the next town.
Better to go farther, head inland, and get farther away from the Demon Domain.
