Boom!
A massive cloud of dust rose in the middle of the tribe.
But the Goblin Lord did not stop there; he continued grabbing a wooden stake from a recently demolished house nearby and hurled it in that direction.
Then came the third, the fourth…
Only when there was nothing suitable left at hand did he finally stop for the moment.
The spot where Xulilm had been standing fell silent after the first tree trunk was thrown.
The Goblin Lord stared into the smoke-filled distance, sniffed the air, and a cruel smile stretched across his lips.
Yet, at that very moment,
A fireball burst out from another direction without warning, striking a goblin archer who had climbed to the rooftop.
“Ga—!”
The goblin shrieked miserably, rolling off the roof, while the flames quickly spread from its body to the roof made of branches and straw.
In an instant, the entire house was ablaze.
But the assault was far from over.
One fireball after another shot out from various locations.
Goblin archers fell one by one amid their screams, and soon the fire was raging across the entire tribe.
Many goblins, incapacitated by gut-wrenching pain, could do nothing but stare helplessly as the flames engulfed them.
The Goblin Lord watched this scene, his bloodshot eyes nearly oozing with rage.
“GAOH—!!!”
Thud! Thud! Thud…
He charged at the culprit with reckless abandon, trampling over anything in his path—whether it was a groaning goblin lying on the ground or houses already burning or yet untouched by fire.
All for the sake of destroying that enemy!
Yet Xulilm had no intention of engaging him directly. Relying on various buffs, she maintained her distance, weaving through the tribe while harvesting every goblin she encountered.
Only when the last goblin archer, consumed by flames, finally collapsed did Xulilm come to a halt…
Facing the towering figure of the Goblin Lord before her, Xulilm calmly pointed her staff at him.
“Now it’s your turn.”
“… …”
Now that Xulilm had stopped moving, the Goblin Lord surprisingly did not attack immediately. He glanced around at his tribe.
Once powerful, his tribe was now utterly devastated, and of his mighty army, only a couple of the lowest-rank goblins wielding rough clubs could be seen.
Huff—!
A stinking white steam blasted from the Goblin Lord’s nostrils, mingling with the drifting smoke all around.
Then—
Both the Goblin Lord and Xulilm moved at the same time.
The massive stone axe slammed down where Xulilm had stood, carving a huge crater into the earth.
But Xulilm had already leapt high into the air.
Bathed in sunlight from above, she cast a spell down upon the Goblin Lord from the sky.
“[ᛓᚠᛏᚱוᚠᛃᛖᛜᛁᛄᚾᛒᛜᚢᚪᛖᛡᛞᚠᛟᛃᛜᛣᚠᚱᛈᛜᛃᛏᚠᛞᚲᛜᚹᛚᛖᛗᛜᛉᚱᚠᛄᛓᛖᛚᛜᛖᛗᛃᛞᛋ]”
“Grand Fireball!”
Boom—!
The Goblin Lord was blasted backward and fell on his back.
Thud!
Just as he was about to hit the ground, he swung his axe behind him with all his strength, forcibly arresting his fall.
“Ga—!”
With a furious roar, the Goblin Lord somehow managed to extinguish the flames on his face.
Despite the severe burns, he seemed oblivious, once again raising his massive axe at Xulilm.
The tip of Xulilm’s staff, too, shimmered with the light of gathered mana.
“Ga—?!”
At that moment, the Goblin Lord’s body suddenly shuddered, freezing mid-swing as he prepared to attack.
“…?”
A flicker of puzzlement passed through Xulilm’s eyes.
Then she saw the Goblin Lord, who had just tanked the Grand Fireball head-on, clutch his stomach and slowly lie down…
“… …”
So it wasn’t that the poison hadn’t worked—it was just taking a while to take effect…
Xulilm dispelled the spell she was preparing and gazed at the Goblin Lord before her, whose hateful stare was now mixed with a constipated expression. She felt a little dazed.
Is it over just like that?
“…Well, Semilis did say I could use any method, so this counts as passing, right?”
“Whatever. Anyway, let’s have Semilis come back first.”
With that, Xulilm once again raised her staff, aiming at the now helpless Goblin Lord.
As the tip of the staff began to glow, the Goblin Lord finally sensed real fear. He forced himself to endure the excruciating pain in his belly, both hands trembling as he tried to lift the stone axe to strike at Xulilm once more.
“[ᛓᚠᛏᚱוᚠᛃᛖᛜᛁᛄᚾᛒᛜᚢᚪᛖᛡᛞᚠᛟᛃᛜᛣᚠᚱᛈᛜᛃᛏᚠᛞᚲᛜᚹᛚᛖᛗᛜᛉᚱᚠᛄᛓᛖᛚᛜᛖᛗᛃᛞᛋ]”
“Grand Fireball!”
Boom!
Another Grand Fireball struck true, blasting the Goblin Lord straight backward.
Bang!
The Goblin Lord crashed heavily to the ground, another patch of his body charred black, but that was the extent of it.
Given his enormous size, such injuries were little more than superficial.
Xulilm felt a bit of a headache. Although the Goblin Lord’s armor provided some protection, the key issue was his immense vitality—even a C-rank spell could barely faze him.
No doubt about it—he was already at C+ rank.
Thankfully, the poison worked; otherwise, who knew how this would end…
The Goblin Lord struggled to rise and fight back, but Xulilm wasn’t about to give him another chance.
“[ᛖᚢᛋᛒבᛤᛜᛖᛓᛃᚺᚾᛜᛣᛈᛏᛡᛣᛃᚾᚠᛏᛁᛋᛚᚪᛜᛗᛜᛣᛃᛗᚢᛜᛖᚲהᛤᛜᛞᛈᛃᛡᛚᛖᛋ]”
“Lightning Strike!”
Crash!
A bolt of lightning descended from the sky, striking the Goblin Lord.
“Ga—!”
The Goblin Lord howled in agony, his body even less able to move under the numbing effects of the lightning.
Clearly, attacks that could penetrate his body were more effective against such thick-skinned opponents.
“GAOH—!!!”
Realizing he couldn’t escape, the Goblin Lord threw his head back and roared.
“Galu!”
“Ga!”
“Ga…”
The remaining green-skinned goblins had already lost their will to fight when their lord was blasted away by the Grand Fireball. Now, receiving the lord’s command for help, they hesitated, not daring to advance.
“GAOH—!!!”
Boom!
A fireball exploded directly in the Goblin Lord’s mouth.
“Your voice is too loud. Please, be quiet now.”
Clutching his mouth, the Goblin Lord let out painful whimpers as blood streamed from the corners of his lips.
Though he could no longer roar, when the lord frantically commanded again in even greater fury, the instinct to obey their superior finally drove the green-skinned goblins into action.
“Ga!”
“Galu!”
“Ga…”
Seeing the green-skinned goblins charging with their weapons, Xulilm muttered, “What a bother,” and pointed her staff at them.
“[ᚣᚠᛟᚪᛚᛜᛖᚾᚠᚲᚢהᛤᛜᛖᛗᛞᚪᛡᛖᛞᛃᚺיᛤᛜᛖᛃᚱᚪיᛏᚠᛜᛓᚠᛃᛋᚾᛈᛡᛣᛃיᛞᛃᛡᛓᚠᛄᚲᛜᛋᚠᛟᛃᛏᛜᛣᚢ]”
“Earth’s Grasp!”
As the spell was cast, the ground around them began to flow like liquid, then surged up into a giant hand that crashed down upon the goblins.
“Ga!?”
“Galu!!”
Seven or eight green-skinned goblins managed only a scream before they were swallowed by the earth.
Those who had been lagging behind and survived by luck saw this and instantly lost what little courage they’d mustered. None dared to advance; the smarter ones already began to flee.
“One after another, what a pain. Better to finish you all off first.”
Now, the Goblin Lord’s movements were extremely sluggish, making the lower-ranked goblins, especially those who might pick up a bow and launch a sneak attack, the greater threat.
“[ᚷᚲᛏᛓᛖᛚᛜᚻᚠᛏᛖᛡᛣᛏᚠᚳᛜᚾᛃᚲᛟᛖᛡᛓᛏᚠᚱᛜᚾᛟᚲᚠᛚᛜᛖᛗᛃᛞᛋ]”
“Wind Blade!”
“[ᛒᛚᚢלᛤᛜᛖᛗᛞᚪᛡᛖᛞᛃᚺיᛤᛜᛈᛚᛟᛡᛃᚾᛒᚪᛜᚣᚠᛋᛓᛚᛜᛖᛗᛃᛞᛋ]”
“Stone Shot!”
“[ᚣᚠᛟᚪᛚᛜᛣᛃᛗᛡᛁᚾᛗᛚᚪᛜᛣᛃᛗᛡᛃᚱיᚺᛜᛖᛋᚢהᛖᛜᛏᛖᛗ]”
“Water Arrow…”
Xulilm began to hunt down the green-skinned goblins. Those still hesitating were the first to be targeted.
In an instant, none of the goblins needed to decide whether to fight or flee—they all scattered in every direction.
Before long, the number of lower-rank green-skinned goblins had dropped drastically; none could be seen moving about openly.
But Xulilm knew not all the green-skinned goblins had been eliminated—some were still hiding somewhere.
“Maybe I should just burn down the entire tribe?”
