Lin Sheng wasn’t sure if it was just his imagination, but ever since he’d caught a glimpse of Serveyia’s panties that day, he couldn’t shake the feeling that something had changed in the way Serveyia treated him.
He couldn’t quite put his finger on what exactly had changed, but it seemed that when they bathed together, Serveyia’s gaze burned even hotter than before.
Normally, during their baths, Serveyia would throw in the occasional comment or two, but she’d never been so earnest about it.
To be honest, the serious expression she wore now always made him feel as though she was about to devour him.
What’s more, Serveyia was sticking to him far too closely.
In the past, every few days, she’d set aside an afternoon just to deal with paperwork.
But now, it was different.
It was as if Serveyia had completely forgotten the concept of personal space, clinging to Lin Sheng all the time.
While Lin Sheng wasn’t exactly averse to having Serveyia so close, this just wasn’t normal.
It was nothing like the Serveyia he used to know. Something unusual was definitely afoot.
Lin Sheng couldn’t say for sure whether Serveyia had really changed, or if she was secretly plotting something odd.
He did try to ask Serveyia about it whenever he got the chance, but the only response he got was, “There’s nothing strange,” which sounded odd in itself.
It looked like there was no way to get an answer out of Serveyia. Still, Lin Sheng’s curiosity wouldn’t let him leave the matter alone.
Fortunately, he had other means of satisfying his curiosity.
“Eh? Princess, are you asking if there’s been anything unusual with Princess Serveyia lately? Hmm, I don’t think there’s anything out of the ordinary. My apologies, Princess.”
This was Lien’s reply after hearing Lin Sheng’s question.
“Besides, these past few days, Princess Serveyia should be spending even more time with you. If there were really any issues, shouldn’t you, Princess, be the first to notice?”
That made sense.
These days, Serveyia practically wanted to glue herself to him.
Still, she had become so odd lately…
Uh, could it be that she was on her period?
After finally managing to escape from Serveyia, he certainly hadn’t expected this kind of answer.
“But, if you really aren’t sure, Princess, you can tell me about it. Maybe I can figure out the reason for you.”
Uh, should I really say it?
Lin Sheng wasn’t sure what kind of response he’d get if he told Lien that Serveyia practically wanted to stick to him all the time.
After hesitating for a moment, Lin Sheng decided to voice his confusion, and even mentioned his own guess.
“As for that, Princess need not worry.”
Listening to him, Lien couldn’t help but lift the corners of her lips a little.
When she heard Lin Sheng’s speculation at the end, she couldn’t hold back a laugh—though the smile she wore seemed more mischievous than kind.
“Hehe, Princess, you can just treat Princess Serveyia’s changes as a bit of moodiness from her period. Don’t worry about it.”
What could he say?
Even though Lien told him not to worry, she didn’t explain anything, and instead just made him even more curious.
That last sentence was less of an explanation and more like teasing. Damn, now he was even more curious!
“Oh, right, in case you weren’t aware, Princess, there actually is a room for Princess Serveyia inside Qingli Hall.”
“Eh?”
That was news to Lin Sheng.
After all, Serveyia was always by his side, to the point that she practically watched him constantly and insisted on eating, living, and sleeping together.
When they first arrived at Qingli Hall, she’d even said that her room was his room.
But now, she was saying she had a room all to herself.
Damn it, if you have your own room, just stay obediently in your own room!
Why sleep with me every night and torment me like this?!
(Actually, it wasn’t much torment at all.)
“Since Princess didn’t know, I can tell you where Princess Serveyia’s room is. If you’re really curious, you could go take a look, but…”
“But, what?”
“First, you can go, but I can’t guarantee what might happen, and I won’t be responsible for it; second, if you get caught, Princess, you absolutely can’t say I gave you the information; finally, I suggest Princess picks an appropriate time—preferably a whole, idle afternoon.”
Lien’s lengthy explanation sounded a bit like she was listing rules for some bizarre game, but honestly, the longer she went on, the more curious Lin Sheng became.
It’s just a room—could it really be that dangerous?
Anyway, he was bored now, and Serveyia wasn’t by his side.
Why not take this opportunity to go have a look?
Once he had the thought, he acted on it.
As for Lien’s warnings, come on, nothing’s going to happen.
Following the directions Lien had given him, he arrived at what was supposedly Serveyia’s room.
But, well, standing in front of the door, Lin Sheng suddenly found himself hesitating.
He wasn’t sure what he might see if he opened it. What if—just what if—he stumbled upon something horrifying?
But if there really was any danger, surely Lien wouldn’t have let him come here alone.
Since he was here, it meant there wasn’t any real problem.
At worst, he might just discover a few of Serveyia’s little secrets. It’d be fine, really.
(Definitely.)
