“Lilia, I’m hungry.”
Yaoyao’s soft, sweet voice suddenly rang out, breaking Lilia’s train of thought.
She hurriedly closed the book and slipped it into the gap in the bookshelf, her cheeks still warm as she turned around.
“Hungry? Then let big sister take you to eat some sweet plum blossom pastries, how about that?”
Yaoyao immediately tossed aside her picture book and rushed over to hug Lilia’s hand.
“Yes, yes! I want the ones fresh from the oven!”
“Then… let’s go.”
Lilia held Yaoyao’s little hand and led her outside, the rough texture of the book pages still lingering on her fingertips, while that secret fluttering in her heart felt like a little rabbit bouncing around, never stopping.
“Lilia, after we eat, let’s go find Big Sister, okay?”
“Alright.”
Lilia smiled and rubbed Yaoyao’s head, the softness of her hair making the flutter in Lilia’s heart grow even stronger.
Actually, even without Yaoyao saying so, she had been thinking about finding Yibao too.
A sweet aroma wafted from the kitchen.
The freshly baked plum blossom pastries, dusted with golden sugar, were stacked on the porcelain plates like little mountains.
Lilia took the oil paper bag from the head chef, carefully picked out a pastry, and handed it to Yaoyao.
“Here, take it. Eat slowly, don’t choke.”
Yaoyao took the pastry and, on tiptoe, took a big bite right away.
The flaky crust crumbled down onto her dress, and her lips were ringed with golden sugar, making her look like a little squirrel sneaking a treat, her eyes curving into crescent moons.
“Wow! So sweet! Lilia, you have to try one too! It’s super yummy!”
The head chef stood by, watching the soft and sweet Yaoyao, and couldn’t help joking with a smile.
“Your Highness, you’re so cute, but eating too many sweets isn’t good for you, you know. You’ll get cavities.”
Hearing this, Yaoyao paused mid-bite, then quickly chewed again and mumbled, “Just this once! Next time I’ll eat less!”
Her words made Lilia and the head chef both laugh.
Meanwhile, the atmosphere in the room was completely different from the warmth of the kitchen.
Yiyi was pinned to the bed by Aze’s body, unable to move, her back pressed against the soft bedding, and the faint scent of cedar on the other person’s body lingering at the tip of her nose.
What made her even more embarrassed was that her right foot was tightly wrapped by Aze’s silver-white tail, the tip occasionally brushing gently over her ankle, sending a tingling, ticklish sensation.
“You bastard… Let me go!”
Yiyi gritted her teeth, struggling as her cheeks flushed uncontrollably and her breath grew uneven.
“Tsk, so noisy.”
Aze looked down at her reddening cheeks, a sly smile flashing in her eyes.
Her tail tightened even more, even deliberately tugging twice at Yiyi’s own tail.
“Nagging and nagging—Hades, don’t you ever get tired?!”
“Mm!” The moment her tail was pulled, Yiyi couldn’t hold back a muffled groan, her body tensing instinctively, her eyes brimming with tears as she glared, both ashamed and angry.
“Don’t touch my tail! Let go!”
“Not letting go.”
Aze leaned in, their noses nearly touching, her warm breath brushing Yiyi’s face with a lazy dominance.
“Unless you behave and stop making a fuss, so I can get some proper sleep.”
Her tail softly stroked Yiyi’s ankle, the movement a mix of teasing and an intimacy that allowed no refusal.
Aze reached out, her cool fingertips gently patting Yiyi’s flushed cheek, then closed her eyes, speaking unhurriedly with a hint of mischief.
“Call me Daddy and I’ll let you go.”
“In your dreams!” Yiyi trembled with anger, her cheeks burning so red they could drip blood as she glared at Aze’s closed eyes.
“Who’d call you Daddy! You shameless scoundrel!”
She struggled even harder, kicking and pushing, but Aze only pressed down more firmly.
That silver-white tail even wound around her wrists, pinning her arms at her sides.
“Not calling?”
Aze slowly opened her eyes, the triumph in her gaze reflecting Yiyi’s reddened face.
“Then I’ll just keep you pinned here. Not like I lose anything—holding something soft and fragrant while I nap is a win for me.”
Her breath tickled Yiyi’s ear, warm and gentle.
“Besides, isn’t it nice to call me Daddy? Then I can protect you. What a deal.”
Yiyi was both ashamed and infuriated by her words, but no matter how she struggled, she couldn’t break free.
All she could do was bite her lip and glare, her eyes brimming with tears that stubbornly refused to fall.
“You… You’re shameless!”
“Shameless it is.”
Aze shrugged, utterly unconcerned, her tail lifting Yiyi’s chin with a playful motion.
“You’re not getting away anyway. You might as well behave so you don’t suffer.”
As she spoke, she deliberately pressed down harder, her tone filled with crafty pride.
“Hades, you’re a weakling now—no power left at all. Resistance is useless. How about this, from now on I’m your big sister, and you call me Daddy, deal? This is a guaranteed win for you~”
“You!”
Yiyi’s lips trembled with rage, her eyes finally reddening, crystalline tears welling up but still refusing to fall.
“Who wants to make such a ridiculous deal with you! Even if I’m pinned by you forever, I’ll never call you that!”
Just as the tension and ambiguity reached a peak, the sound of knocking suddenly broke the moment, and Yaoyao’s sweet voice burst in like a spring of clear water, shattering the charged atmosphere.
“Big Sister! Yaoyao brought you a treat! It’s fresh plum blossom pastry, super sweet!”
“Wait! Don’t come in yet!” Yiyi froze in shock, her cheeks instantly turning so red they seemed about to drip blood.
Flustered, she glanced at Aze, who was still smiling infuriatingly on top of her.
Her right hand shot out, precisely pinching Aze’s waist and giving the soft flesh a hard poke.
“Ow~!”
Caught off guard, Aze gave a muffled yelp, the mingled pain and ticklishness making her loosen her grip and shift aside a little.
Seizing this rare opportunity, Yiyi slipped out from under her like a slippery fish, scrambling to the far corner of the bed before stopping.
Her chest heaved violently, her cheeks still burning, her eyes glittering with unshed tears as she glared at Aze, both embarrassed and angry.
“You bastard! If you do that again, I won’t let you off!”
Aze rubbed her sore waist, sitting up with a look of teasing amusement in her eyes.
Her silver-white tail swayed gently, the tip even seeming a little aggrieved.
“Such a ruthless move, Hades. Can’t you be a little gentler?”
Outside, Yaoyao, hearing no reply, knocked lightly again, her voice tinged with concern.
“Big Sister? What’s wrong? Are you not feeling well? Can Yaoyao come in?”
Yiyi hastily straightened her rumpled clothes, taking a deep breath to calm her frantic heart, then raised her voice toward the door.
“N-no problem! You can come in now!”
As soon as she finished speaking, the door swung open.
Yaoyao ran in holding a piece of plum blossom pastry, Lilia following behind with the oil paper bag in hand.
Yaoyao ran straight to Yiyi, tipped her rosy little face up, and held the pastry to her mouth, her voice dripping with sweetness.
“Big Sister~ Have some! It’s fresh from the oven, still warm—super sweet and fragrant!”
She even reached out her soft little hand, gently touching Yiyi’s cheek.
The coolness of her fingertips contrasted sharply with Yiyi’s burning cheeks, making Yiyi instinctively flinch back.
