Chapter 30: An Awkward Smile

Facing Bai Ningbing’s words, Lin Guanqi could only offer an awkward smile.

After all, if she said she really used to be a boy, would Bai Ningbing even be able to accept it?

“How could that be? You’re overthinking things. I just happened to come across it at that time, and I just so happened to be changing, so, isn’t it just…”

“All right, all right, no need to explain, I get it. After all, there’s no way this is your first time having your period.”

If she admitted this really was her first time, who knew what Bai Ningbing would think.

The strange thing was, even though she remembered her past life as a woman, a lot of the details were fuzzy.

There was no way anyone would go so far as to make her remember these things on purpose.

When Lin Guanqi woke up again, the plane had already landed.

“We need to get off, the plane’s already at the gate.”

“Then let’s sleep at the hotel. If you keep sleeping on the plane, do you want them to have to carry you out?”

Yawning, Lin Guanqi reluctantly got up. This economy class seat was way more comfortable than her old rented room in her past life.

“Where have we landed? I just followed you out on this trip—I don’t even know where our destination is.”

“Did you forget? We’re overseas now.”

Lin Guanqi widened her eyes and looked at the people around them— all foreign girls.

“I just took a nap, and we’re overseas already? Wait, why are we even abroad? I thought we were traveling inside the country, but you brought me out of the country?”

Lin Guanqi couldn’t believe her eyes. No wonder it was dark after one nap—they’d flown overseas!

“Since we’re going on a trip, of course we should go somewhere far. Domestic spots are always there, but going abroad is different. There’s a city of love here, and I really wanted to bring you!”

Bai Ningbing had been talking more these days, probably because the two of them had finally opened up to each other.

“But you can’t just take me out of the country! I can’t speak the language—what am I supposed to do? I’m not good at this stuff!”

Ordering food might even require a translator app. Traveling abroad was nice and all, but the language barrier was a real problem.

Bai Ningbing glanced at her watch. The interpreter should be arriving soon.

But since they were already abroad, going straight back would be such a waste.

“Hello, I’m Mary, your interpreter.”

Her Mandarin was so fluent, she sounded even better than Lin Guanqi, who was a native.

“Hello, hello, nice to meet you! I don’t speak the local language, so I’ll have to trouble you for a while.”

Lin Guanqi greeted her first.

“Don’t worry! I’ve been in this business for years, and all my clients are super satisfied with my translating skills! You can leave everything to me!”

Seeing that the two of them got along, Bai Ningbing dismissed all the backup interpreters she had arranged.

“You really are a beautiful lady. If I weren’t a girl myself, I might have fallen for you.”

Mary’s sudden compliment caught Lin Guanqi off guard.

She’d heard plenty of people call her pretty back home, but if a foreigner said she was good-looking, that meant she really was.

Even overseas, Lin Guanqi understood the power of mutual flattery in business.

“Miss Mary, you’re gorgeous too. Blonde hair and blue eyes! I’ve seen plenty of foreigners before, but you left the deepest impression on me!”

That wasn’t a lie, after all, Mary was the first impression she had here.

Mary seemed happy to hear that.

“Really? Thank you.”

After some small talk, the three of them found a restaurant. After all, they hadn’t eaten a thing on the plane.

Lin Guanqi had wanted to find some street food, but Bai Ningbing stopped her.

“Come on, we’re already abroad—why settle for street snacks? I’ll take you to try some local specialties!”

But the interpreter did her job, and quickly translated the question.

“The waiter asked what you two would like to eat.”

Bai Ningbing nodded, handed the menu to Lin Guanqi, and said, “Since I’m treating you, don’t be shy. Order whatever you like.”

Lin Guanqi opened the menu—and nearly jumped out of her skin.

“What the hell is all this?!”
