Suddenly, Ye Qiao reached out her hand toward Lin Yi’s head.
Instinctively, Lin Yi leaned forward a bit, then paused and retreated backward.
“Pfft.” Ye Qiao withdrew her hand and covered her mouth with a laugh.
Her son had a habit he didn’t even realize—whenever she wanted to pat his head, he’d subconsciously lean forward just like when he was a child, then suddenly straighten up, saving face by pulling away.
That really is Lin Yi. But… what on earth is going on here?
Lin Yi carefully watched his mother’s expression. Seeing her laugh, then her face grow serious again, and then look back at him and say, “Xiao Yi.”
Lin Yi blanked out for a moment, then joy welled up in him. “Mom, do you believe me now?”
Ye Qiao nodded and turned to start the car. “Let’s go home first. I need some time to process this.” Raising a child really does require some time to process.

When they got home, Ye Qiao sat down on the sofa, and Lin Yi sat beside her holding the child.
“So, you were hit by a Meteor, and when you woke up, this was the situation? A supernatural phenomenon?” After doing some psychological prep in the car, Ye Qiao was a little calmer now, her tone steadier.
“Yes,” Lin Yi replied.
“I did see the news about the Meteor Shower yesterday, but today’s news didn’t say anything about any Meteors changing trajectory or anything like that.”
Could it really have been some sort of miracle? Lin Yi gritted his teeth in thought.
After a moment of silence, Ye Qiao broke it. “Let me hold the child for a bit.”
Eh?
She took the baby, letting the child rest in the crook of her arm, supporting the hips in one fluid motion.
“So cute.”
“Mom, this child’s origin is a mystery too. I think it has something to do with the Meteor.”
“A Star Child, huh?” Ye Qiao chuckled softly.
Could you not relax so suddenly?
Lin Yi held her forehead. Right now, she was sitting with her legs apart, elbows on her knees, sitting in a bold, open posture.
Even though her sitting posture was the same as before, Lin Yi could always feel this body was totally different from before—soft, fair-skinned, and some parts had an undeniable presence.
“You think the child could be related to you by blood?” Ye Qiao joked offhandedly.
“Mom!” Lin Yi frowned.
Ye Qiao looked at the girl in front of her, brows knitted, small lips pursed, a look her son would make, but with a completely different effect.
“Eh~” She sighed. “First we have to figure out what’s going on with you, but without any ID, you two can’t even go to the hospital.”
Lin Yi said, “How about we first check out the place where I saw the Meteor?”
“Alright,” Ye Qiao nodded. “But let’s wait for your dad to come back first.” With that, she went to make a phone call.
Lin Yi took the child, adjusted her hold to match her mother’s posture, and looked at the still sleeping baby. She couldn’t help but wonder what the child would look like when she opened her eyes.
Would she look like me? No, no, no. Lin Yi shook her head—this was all her mother’s strange ideas.
After Lin Zhengqing heard “Lin Yi has something big going on” he ran home from the Company, while Ye Qiao drove herself to the spot where Lin Yi saw the Meteor.
Lin Yi and the child stayed at home.
Not long after, Lin Yi received a message from her mother saying she hadn’t found anything.
As expected, Lin Yi thought, having already defined this whole thing in her heart as The God’s Prank.
At that moment, the sound of a key turning in the lock came from the door. Mom couldn’t have come back this quickly, so it had to be Dad.
Lin Yi turned her head, just in time to meet Lin Zhengqing’s eyes as he came in.
…Lin Zhengqing couldn’t understand why there was a beautiful young girl about his son’s age sitting at home holding a baby.
Could it be?! A wild thought flashed through Lin Zhengqing’s mind, and he said, “Are you my son’s…”
“I’m not!” Having already gone through this in the car, Lin Yi knew exactly what her dad was thinking.
“I am your son!”
Huh? A huge question mark popped up over Lin Zhengqing’s head—the elite executive who’d fought for thirty years in the big city of Haishi.

Lin Yi gently laid the child down on her freshly made bed and came out to see Ye Qiao and Lin Zhengqing both staring at her. She sat down on the sofa beside them.
“Let’s see if we can contact some friends at a Private Hospital to get you and the child checked out.”
Lin Zhengqing spoke up.
After Lin Yi and her mother did their best to explain, and after checking Lin Yi’s whereabouts yesterday from several angles, though it all felt like a dream, Lin Zhengqing finally accepted that this girl in front of him was really his son.
After deciding to go to the hospital tomorrow, Ye Qiao shoved a pile of clothes into Lin Yi’s hands and pushed her into the bathroom, telling her to take a shower first.
Hmm, a shower?
