Leo stared at the brand-new icon in his skill list, his heart pounding faster.
[Summon: Elven Archmage].
This was a top-tier intelligence unit among magic users.
Unlike Alice, who was a physical-type Knight, a powerful mage could do so much more.
He took a deep breath and began the summoning.
[Please select the Archmage’s gender: Male/Female]
“Female.”
Leo answered in a flash.
Of course, if you’re playing a summoner, who isn’t trying to build their own beautiful girl squad?
[Please select appearance template: Template One/Template Two/Template Three]
Three lifelike holographic models appeared in front of Leo.
Template One: Green hair, slender figure, temperament like the wind in the forest—lively and ethereal.
Template Two: Blond hair, petite figure, features so delicate she resembled a doll, looking obedient and adorable.
Template Three: Blue hair, and… a very ample figure, radiating mature feminine charm, with a hint of a teasing smile in her eyes.
Leo’s gaze swept back and forth between the three templates.
They say only children make choices.
But now he had no choice but to pick one—how tragic.
He hesitated for 0.3 seconds, then decisively chose Template Three.
No kidding, Alice was the cool, aloof type.
It’d be perfect to have someone more lively to balance her out.
Most importantly, this character model was just… unbeatable.
He couldn’t resist, absolutely couldn’t resist.
“It’s decided, you’re the one!”
Leo made his selection and activated the skill.
In an instant, 900 points of his mana were drained—one hundred more than summoning Alice had required.
That instantly shaved a third off his already not-so-abundant mana bar.
Still, this amount of mana was already a dimensional blow compared to locals at the same level—or even those ten or twenty levels higher.
“In my name, answer my call!”
Unlike the holy white light that appeared when he summoned Alice, this time, a vivid green magic circle made up of countless intricate runes emerged on the ground.
The surrounding vegetation began to grow wildly, the air filled with an intense aura of life and pure magical energy.
A gentle green pillar of light shot skyward, countless tiny specks of light fluttering like fireflies within it.
When the radiance faded—
A female figure in a blue mage’s robe stood at the center of the magic circle.
Her hair was a deep ocean blue, with several delicate leaf-shaped ornaments woven among the strands.
Pointed ears peeked through her hair, proof of her elven heritage.
The style of her robe was bold, perfectly accentuating her astonishing curves.
Unlike Alice, who knelt on one knee, this newcomer surveyed Leo with interest.
Her violet eyes held both curiosity and a playful smile.
She took long, graceful steps toward Leo, drawing close—so close that her nose was nearly touching his.
A faint, honey-like fragrance drifted over.
“So, you’re my master?”
Her voice was lazy and magnetic, with a slightly rising tail at the end.
“Not bad looking, you know.”
Leo felt his cheeks flush.
Goodness, this intelligence unit’s personality seemed a bit too lively.
He forced himself to stay calm, stepped back half a step, and cleared his throat.
“That’s me. What’s your name?”
“Name?”
The blue-haired elf tilted her head, touching her finger to her lips in a charming gesture.
“I don’t have a name yet, Master~ Won’t you give me a nice one?”
The way she called him “Master” nearly melted Leo’s bones.
He felt like he couldn’t handle it.
“Ahem… From now on, your name is Liana.”
“Liana…”
She repeated it, her smile growing even brighter.
“That’s a beautiful name. I like it.”
“Thank you, my master.”
Liana said this as she naturally slipped her hand through Leo’s arm, pressing herself close to him.
Leo’s body tensed.
Beside him, Alice glanced at Liana’s hand holding Leo’s arm, then looked at her own hand. A hint of confusion seemed to flicker in her blue eyes.
Leo hurriedly opened Liana’s status panel, trying to calm himself down with some numbers.
[Name: Liana]
[Level: 40]
[Class: Elementalist]
[HP: 1200/1200]
[MP: 2500/2500]
[Strength: 18]
[Agility: 42]
[Constitution: 60]
[Spirit: 125]
[Skills: Fireball, Frost Arrow, Wind Blade, Earth Wall, Mana Shield… (expand)]
Hiss…
Leo drew in a sharp breath.
Yet another monster.
Completely different from Alice’s Guardian Knight role, Liana was a pure glass cannon.
Her massive 125 Spirit stat gave her terrifying magical firepower.
And the skills she commanded covered the four basic elements—fire, ice, wind, and earth—as well as a lifesaving shield.
Most importantly, there was even an “expand” at the end, meaning her skill list was far from complete.
She was basically a walking elemental artillery platform.
Too good!
“Master, what are you looking at?”
Liana’s voice snapped Leo out of his state of euphoria.
“Nothing.”
Leo calmly closed the panel and gently slipped his arm free.
“Now that you’re here, it’s the perfect time to test your combat abilities.”
Through his mental link, he dismissed all the summoned guardians around them.
In an instant, the Dire Bear, Earth Guardian, Abomination, and the rest all dissolved into points of light.
The forest returned to silence.
“Alice, Liana.”
Leo issued his order.
“Next, we’re going to find an elite monster for some practice.”
“Understood.”
Alice’s reply was concise.
“Yay! I finally get to stretch my legs!”
Liana, on the other hand, was full of excitement.
“Master, watch me shine!”
Leo led his two “hero units” through the forest in search of a suitable target.
Before long, he spotted a dozing magical beast near a cave at the base of a cliff.
It was a massive bear-like creature, its body covered in rock-like armor, sharp bone spikes jutting from its back.
[Lv40, Elite, Elite Armored Rockback Bear]
“That’s the one.”
A flash of excitement crossed Leo’s eyes.
“Alice, get ready.”
“Yes, Master.”
Alice drew her Knight’s sword and extended her left hand, conjuring a silver kite shield inscribed with intricate patterns.
“Liana, you’re in charge of long-range offense and support.”
“Leave it to me, Master!”
Liana smiled, raising her slender fingers, fire elements already gathering at her fingertips.
“Alice, go!”
At Leo’s command, Alice shot forward like an arrow, charging straight for the still-sleeping Armored Bear.
She wasted no time—her shield slammed down hard on the bear’s head.
Thud!
A dull boom echoed out.
Startled by the pain, the Armored Bear jerked awake, letting out a furious roar.
It raised a massive paw and swung it at Alice.
Alice didn’t dodge.
She raised her shield, activating [Guardian Stance].
The bear’s paw crashed into the shield, producing a deafening metallic clang.
Alice staggered but managed to hold her ground.
At the very moment the Armored Bear’s attack was blocked, a blazing fireball shot over, striking it square in the eye.
“Roar!”
The bear howled in even greater pain.
It was Liana’s [Fireball].
With a successful hit, Liana didn’t pause for a second.
She crossed her hands and chanted.
The next moment, three razor-sharp [Wind Blades] sliced through the air, targeting the bear’s less-armored belly.
Then, a [Frost Arrow] fired off just as the bear raised its leg, striking its knee joint and causing a momentary slowdown.
Alice seized the opportunity, swinging her sword as a golden light flashed.
[Holy Strike]!
The blade carved a deep wound into the bear’s leg.
“Beautiful!”
Watching from behind, Leo felt his blood boil.
Perfect teamwork!
Alice acted as the tank, flawlessly drawing aggro and controlling the elite monster’s movements.
Liana, as the mage, rained down a ton of damage and provided effective crowd control from a safe distance.
A physical core who could tank, fight, and control.
A magical artillery platform whose burst damage and versatility were off the charts.
Watching the two figures fighting side by side, the smile on Leo’s lips grew ever more smug.
This team was unbeatable!
