Just as the two were explaining,
Residents who had been controlled already appeared at the corner.
Each one wore a blank, vacant expression.
Upon seeing this, Rain immediately channeled the Transcendent Power converted from Lu Ming Divine Power.
She unleashed the Elemental Attack divine art.
In an instant, two immensely thick tree trunks burst from the ground, blocking the corner.
This prevented the residents from coming in for the time being.
“In this situation, how are we supposed to find that person? For all we know, he might have already started summoning the Evil God.”
Li Ang’s face was extremely grim, his finger tightly on the trigger.
Getting away wasn’t the issue, but the real problem was that they had to find the one holding the “Evil God Summoning”.
“Should we choose these thousands of residents before us, or the lives of everyone on Blue Star?”
“That’s a tough choice for you, isn’t it?”
Aside from Rain and Lyle, both Li Ang’s and the other’s expressions turned obviously gloomy.
“Messiah” raised the coffin, the pitch-black coffin gradually growing larger, becoming three times its original size in no time.
And it was still growing.
“The Electric Train Dilemma is a hard choice for you, but for me, it’s just about making a decision that keeps losses to a minimum.”
Even Lyle fell silent.
What Messiah said was right—in most cases, you could only choose to sacrifice the weaker side.
As the coffin expanded to several dozen meters,
Rain suddenly spoke up.
“Wait!”
“That person isn’t here!”
Rain’s words made Messiah halt her actions.
With one hand propping up the enormous coffin, she seemed to want to hear what Rain had to say.
“Among those villains, there are people from the Containment Facility, right?”
Lyle nodded at her words.
Rain looked to Messiah again.
“There are barely any security personnel left in the Containment Facility now, correct?”
“Nearly everyone’s been sent out, only the higher-ups remain, along with Forbidden Objects that can’t be mobilized.”
Rain’s voice was incredibly heavy.
“If it’s someone from the Containment Facility who wants to summon the Evil God…”
“If his goal is the destruction of the world…”
“Then, where would summoning the Evil God ensure the world is utterly destroyed?”
Lyle’s brows knitted, understanding Rain’s point.
Even Li Ang grasped what Rain meant.
“The Containment Facility!”
“Yes, his real goal is to lure everyone out of the Containment Facility, then summon the Evil God there.”
“If he does that, even just breaking the seals on the containment items would be enough to destroy this world.”
Li Ang immediately clutched his head and squatted down.
“Damn it!”
“We’ve been completely played… Even if we hurry back to the Containment Facility now, we probably won’t make it in time.”
Not just Li Ang.
Even Lyle and Rain were silent.
They’d been led away from their post.
There was no good solution.
“Rain, can you get in touch with the Goddess, Your Highness?”
Lyle looked at Rain, a bit nervous as he asked.
“These days, I’ve tried to contact Her Highness every day, and I’ve succeeded each time.”
“But Her Highness already said before—She cannot descend in person so easily again. If She did, Blue Star might explode from the strain before the Evil God even arrives.”
“She can only perform Divine Descent, letting her divine soul arrive through my body as a vessel.”
“But that takes time, and right now, time is what we lack most.”
“Oh? If it’s really as you say, then maybe we’re not short on time after all.”
Messiah suddenly interjected.
She pinched her chin.
“If that bastard chose to summon the Evil God at the Containment Facility, he’s made the wrong move.”
“Did you report to the others that the enemy can hypnotize people?”
Rain nodded immediately. “Yes, I already reported it.”
“In that case, you don’t need to worry about running out of time.”
“That guy will stop him from causing chaos inside the Containment Facility.”
Rain and Lyle were both confused.
“That guy?”
“All right, let’s not waste any more time. I’ll take you all back first. Rain, remember to contact Your Highness the Goddess while we’re on the way.”
With that, not giving them a chance to ask questions, Messiah grabbed all four of them one by one and tossed them onto the coffin.
Then, with one hand, she hoisted it and hurled it far into the distance.
The terrifying force sent the coffin soaring through the air.
Messiah then leaped up herself, easily landing atop the black coffin.

Outside the Containment Facility,
Thousands of faceless residents clustered together, rapidly breaking through the Containment Facility’s outer defensive perimeter.
Hundreds of horribly mutilated corpses were left in their wake.
Yet, they didn’t stop for a moment.
They moved with precision toward the hidden entrance of the Containment Facility.
Among these people, there was one in hiding.
His expression was normal, but a strange and sickly smile hung on his face.
“It’s close… Soon, I’ll be able to see You with my own eyes, Evil God…”
Just as this group prepared to storm the Containment Facility,
The Facility’s main gate suddenly opened.
A young figure stepped out.
He wore a hood and clothing that seemed to belong to the previous century, his face obscured, yet he gave off a deeply mysterious aura.
“Sorry, Rui Ze, but this time, I can’t let you get in as you wish.”
The man’s voice carried a sense of deep weariness.
Rui Ze, hidden among the crowd, stared at the man in shock.
“How… How does he know about me? During all my time in the Containment Facility, I’ve never seen him before…”
Rui Ze became more cautious.
Dozens of people broke off from the main group, charging wildly at the man.
Brandishing all sorts of weapons, chaos erupted in an instant.
But, just as their weapons were about to touch the man,
An invisible, transparent wave separated the man from everyone else.
No matter how they hacked, stabbed, or jabbed, they couldn’t harm him at all.
This bizarre scene made Rui Ze furrow his brow tightly.
The man before him—his words, his very being—were simply too strange.
Rui Ze couldn’t help but consider fleeing.
But on second thought, he was unwilling to give up.
If dozens can’t take him down, what about hundreds? Surely they can kill him, right?
So, Rui Ze dispatched another few dozen people, attacking the hooded man with all their might.
Because it was so crowded, they even accidentally injured some of their own.
But they still didn’t stop.
Seemingly annoyed,
The hooded man waved his hand, and the hundreds of attackers were instantly sent flying as if struck by some force.
Yet, as they hit the ground,
It was as if something cushioned their fall.
“Leave.”
The hooded man spoke calmly.
Rui Ze’s pupils contracted, then, without hesitation, he led his group away in a mighty retreat.
The hooded man turned and calmly entered the Containment Facility.
He walked toward the enormous Bronze Gate.
***
A few hundred meters outside the Containment Facility,
Only after confirming that the man wasn’t pursuing did Rui Ze finally stop.
He stepped out from the crowd.
His hair was a tangled mess, his beard unkempt, fitting the public’s image of a mad scientist.
He carefully pulled out a Note from his pocket.
Scrawled on it were some indecipherable words.
But ever since Rui Ze had come into contact with this piece of paper, he understood everything in his mind.
The Path of Redemption was right here!
He dropped to his knees, impatiently reaching for his own eyes.
The controlled citizens also moved in unison with his actions.
A sickening, squelching sound echoed as Rui Ze gouged his eyes out of their sockets.
Now hollow-eyed, blood began to seep from his eye sockets.
Thousands of eyeless people knelt together, a strange atmosphere growing thicker.
Enduring the excruciating pain, Rui Ze placed his eyes beside the “Evil God Summoning”.
Then, those thousands of citizens did the same, unconsciously, and thousands of eyes were neatly lined up in several dozen rows.
“O writhing worm in the starry sky, polluted, evil thing—You are the True Lord who brings despair to this world!”
“Descend, ancient evil thing, Evil-Eyed Worm! I summon you with thousands of eyes seeking the truth!”
