Upon hearing this, Lyle’s pupils shrank.
“‘Evil God Summoning’, a special high-risk Forbidden Object.”
“Its true form is an ordinary sticky note.”
“There’s writing on it in a language that doesn’t belong to any human nation.”
“Its property is that once you touch the ‘Evil God Summoning’, you will receive a call from the evil god and understand the writing upon it.”
“And then you’ll become obsessed with summoning the evil god at any cost, seeking to destroy the world.”
The other three also heard the words from the Containment Facility Receiver.
“‘Evil God Summoning’ was stolen?!”
“No way, are those lunatics trying to let the evil god destroy Blue Star?”
“How did they even get their hands on the ‘Evil God Summoning’? Wasn’t that thing secured under layer after layer of containment?”
Lyle immediately looked at Rain.
“Rain, which way did those people you just saw run off to?”
Without hesitation, Rain bolted toward a nearby alley.
Lyle and the others quickly followed.

As soon as they entered the alley, Rain ran straight into a black-clad man wearing a pig-head mask.
He blocked the corner of the alley, holding a chainsaw in his hand.
Seeing Rain approach, he immediately yanked the starter cord and then swung the chainsaw violently at her.
Rain’s expression didn’t change at all, and Supernatural energy radiated from her body.
Ever since she advanced to a fourth-tier Supernatural, Rain had become even more adept at wielding the divine power of her patron, the Goddess of Fertility.
But for some reason, when it came to Divine Techniques, she still only knew the Elemental Attacks and such, not a single Life-related Divine Technique.
Not to mention anything as advanced as Life Deprivation or Life Reduction—even something like Life Purification would do.
“Is it because I’m still too weak to use that level of Divine Technique, so the Goddess hasn’t taught me yet…”
Rain mused to herself, thinking this was quite possible.
With a single thought, she called forth a roaring gale, instantly forming a solid wall of wind that blocked the pig-head masked man.
He crashed hard into the wall.
The chainsaw fell from his hand, and he slumped down as if knocked out cold.
Just then, Lyle and the other two caught up.
“Rain, are you hurt…” Lyle stopped mid-sentence when he saw the pig-head masked man lying on the ground.
He finally remembered that Rain was the earthly representative of the Goddess of Fertility, and lately, she’d become much, much stronger.
She really didn’t need his protection at all.
Li Ang, gasping for breath, stepped up and yanked off the man’s pig-head mask.
It was just an ordinary-looking middle-aged man.
“Wake up! Hey, wake up!”
After a bit of gentle coaxing, the middle-aged man groggily came to.
“Who are you!? Why am I here? I’m going to report you for kidnapping!”
He looked at Li Ang and the other three in terror, seeming utterly unaware of what had happened.
The four exchanged glances, and Li Ang knocked him out again with a punch.
With their experience, they could tell this man wasn’t lying, but they still couldn’t be sure.
“This is trouble. Contact the Containment Facility, have them lock down this whole block.”
Lyle was fully on board with Rain’s suggestion and immediately contacted his own Receiver.
He quickly reported the entire incident in detail.
“Yes, Captain Lyle, I’ll report your situation right awa—”
The voice was cut off, and it sounded like someone else took over the communicator.
“No need, I’ve already been informed. I will dispatch other Containment personnel at once.”
The person on the other end took a deep breath.
“And the ‘Messiah’ as well.”
“This crisis concerns the entire world. Please make sure that the criminals do not leave that block before Containment arrives!”
“Yes! x4”
***
Very quickly, the Containment Facility sprang into action.
They dispatched nearly all their combat power, along with a batch of Forbidden Objects.
At this moment, security within the Containment Facility was thinner than ever before.
The ‘Messiah’ leaned against a massive Bronze Gate.
She glanced at the man beside her.
“Leaving 001’s holding area so often, are you sure nothing will happen?”
The man wore a hood, his face shadowed and unreadable.
He smiled faintly.
“It won’t make a move for now. Before long, I will enter that door.”
“You… Sigh, I really can’t do anything about you. Do you absolutely have to communicate with It?”
“Forget it, talking to you about this is useless.”
“I thought over what that Watcher said before.”
“They claimed I carry Faith, which suggests I was likely born from humanity’s Faith.”
The man nodded calmly.
“A very possible theory. You’re probably right.”
“I mean, aren’t you afraid that after entering that door, you’ll see a man sitting on a golden toilet?”
“Spend less time online, ‘Messiah’. You should read more books.”
“And besides, 001’s codename is ‘Emperor’, not that Emperor.”
***
In the neighborhood.
Lyle and the other two guarded the three entrances and exits of the alley.
Rain delved deeper inside, searching for traces of that group.
Along the way, she encountered several more masked individuals and knocked them all unconscious.
Rain discovered that they were all just ordinary passersby beneath the masks.
They reacted just like the pig-head masked man.
“A Containment Object or Forbidden Object with hypnotic properties, perhaps.”
Rain pondered for a moment, then reported her findings using her holo-communicator.
As she ventured deeper in, a pitch-black coffin came crashing down from the sky, half-burying itself in the ground amidst a cloud of dust.
Rain saw a figure in a sexy short skirt, hefting a coffin on her shoulder, stride toward her.
“Messiah, big sis!” Rain called out in delight.
‘Messiah’ had a slightly odd look on her face, but said nothing.
In truth, she had no gender—male or female would do—but being called ‘big sis’ by Rain still felt strange.
“Are you certain the ones who stole the Containment Object are in this alley?”
“Mm, the Captain and the others are guarding the entrances. Even if they run, we’ll hear it right away.”
‘Messiah’ nodded.
“In that case, let’s erase this area completely.”
With that, she hefted the coffin, ready to act.
Though Rain wasn’t sure if ‘Messiah’ could really do it,
She quickly stopped her.
“No, the main perpetrator has a Containment Object or Forbidden Object with hypnotic properties.”
“Most of the accomplices are just hypnotized ordinary people.”
‘Messiah’ didn’t even frown.
“In that case, it’s a problem, but we’ll have to kill them anyway.”
***
While the two were speaking, three people came in from both corners of the alley.
Rain looked closely and saw it was Lyle, Li Ang, and the others.
“Captain, how did you get in here?”
Lyle gripped his sidearm, looking grim.
“A whole crowd of apparently controlled residents have surrounded this alley from all sides.”
“A rough estimate, there are at least several thousand—we can’t get out.”
Li Ang nodded.
“And they’re extremely aggressive. I tried—unless you knock them out, even pain won’t stop them.”
