Jessica ran downstairs.
At that moment, Red finally realized something was wrong.
He hurriedly shook the still-dazed Letia, trying to wake her up.
“Don’t sleep!”
Red felt that if Letia kept sleeping, he’d really die of embarrassment in this godforsaken place.
“Ababa…”
After a good shaking, Letia regained a bit of consciousness.
She slowly reached out her hand, pointing toward the window.
Though she didn’t say a word, Red instantly understood her meaning.
She must want him to hide above the window.
So, the man quickly climbed out the window.
Somehow, though, an inexplicable feeling crept over him.
Obviously, nothing happened between him and Letia, and it’s not like he was some kind of bull-headed cuckold.
So why was he so flustered?
Wouldn’t it be better to just admit it openly?
Red stood on the eaves above the window, lost in thought.
“Mom, what’s that Uncle doing up there?”
“Children aren’t allowed to look at this.”
A passing Mother covered her son’s eyes and hurriedly left.
It was only then that Red finally realized what this feeling was—a sense of déjà vu, like being caught cheating by the neighbor’s husband…
Hiss~
The more he thought about it, the more off it felt.
Red shook his head, tossing out these dangerous thoughts.
What bull-headed cuckold?
He and Letia were completely innocent—nothing happened at all!
How could he be called that?
Should he go back in and explain?
But honestly, could he really explain it clearly?
At this moment, Red felt a little conflicted inside.
On the other side, after having Red hide above the window, Letia rubbed her forehead, then patted her cheeks, trying to sober herself up.
Right now, she really couldn’t figure out why Jessica and Bethany had returned so early.
Shouldn’t they be busy with work until tomorrow?
If she had known this, she wouldn’t have saved on that 200-coin lodging fee.
Anyway, even if someone really did get suspicious, it’s not like she’d be the one hauled off to the station.
That was still better than sitting here, stuck in this awkwardness.
Just as Letia was starting to regret it, footsteps sounded again outside the door.
It had to be said, when it came to digging up gossip, Jessica’s speed was extraordinary.
Not even half a minute had passed, and she had already brought Bethany up with her.
The two outside pushed open the door, their gazes sweeping over every corner of the Room.
However…the Room was completely empty except for Letia, who sat on the bed, looking utterly bewildered.
“Hm?”
She blinked her clear blue eyes, her voice filled with innocent confusion.
“What’s wrong with you two? You look like you’ve seen a ghost.”
“Uh…”
Bethany glanced around the Room, then looked at Jessica beside her.
Tentatively, she asked, “Where’s Red?”
“Red?”
Letia spread her hands, shrugging helplessly.
“How could Red possibly come back here?”
“But I just saw you lying on top of Red.”
Jessica pushed up her nonexistent glasses, as if she’d seen right through everything.
“There’s only one truth. Red must be hiding somewhere right now.”
Facing Jessica’s words, Bethany actually felt a bit worried.
After all, if Letia and Red had really gotten together, with Letia’s possessive nature, there was no way she’d let Bethany treat Red as her errand boy like before.
So, after sniffing around the Room and confirming there wasn’t that unique male scent, she couldn’t help but breathe a sigh of relief.
“Maybe we made a mistake?”
She walked to the window, then looked around the Room again.
“There’s nowhere to hide someone in here. Red’s such a big guy—where could he hide?”
“The only explanation is…”
Jessica looked at Letia.
“In those thirty seconds we were downstairs, Red escaped out the window. And there’s one more suspicious point—Letia, at this hour, you’d usually be outside. You wouldn’t have come back!”
It was true; Letia normally wouldn’t return to Dawn’s Edge base.
She had her own House—who would want to stay at the Company?
“So tell me, Letia, what are you really doing back here?”
“Do I really have to say?”
Letia’s expression turned solemn, like a warrior facing death with equanimity.
“Telling you might scare you.”
“But go ahead,” Jessica pushed up her nonexistent glasses again.
“You don’t need to panic. I’m not like Liz. I actually hope Red comes back. He’s not qualified as a vanguard, but as a butler, he’s excellent.”
“So even if you gave Liz a Green Crown, I’d still support you being with Red.”
“…Then I’m afraid I’ll have to disappoint you.”
Letia pulled a communication crystal from her pocket, her face calm.
“I just fainted while watching Red’s image.”
As she spoke, Letia pressed her recording crystal, and a three-dimensional image of Red appeared before the three of them.
“…?”
“???”
The two girls stared, unable to understand, but clearly shocked.
“I thought you only liked girls?”
“In theory, yes,” Letia stroked her chin.
“But if you think about it, the feeling of being filled up isn’t bad… You’re suspicious of me, aren’t you? Want to watch my Room’s recording? I just made it.”
Seeing Letia’s seriousness, and realizing she might really drag them into “appreciating” that unspeakable “solo performance,” Jessica and Bethany were immediately terrified.
“Excuse us!”
“Sorry to bother you!”
They hadn’t forgotten that Letia claimed to like girls.
If they really watched with her, who knew what kind of “No, Sis Letia!” scene might play out.
“Uu~ah…”
After scaring off the two unrelated girls, Letia stretched lazily.
She looked out the window.
If she guessed right, Red must have understood her hint and already escaped.
In that case, it was a good chance to change clothes.
She’d sweated a lot while giving that back massage earlier—especially her feet, which felt sticky and clammy.
She slowly peeled off her stockings.
After being a woman for so long, she was already used to the shift in mentality.
But thanks to her previous life’s experience, her understanding of men was far greater than most women’s.
As for being shy about men, she could honestly say she wasn’t shy at all.
After all, it wasn’t like she’d never seen that thing in her last life.
What normal man would be shy about that?
Don’t make me laugh.
But still… Letia hadn’t expected Red to one day turn the tables on her.
At the same time, Red finally broke free from his inner conflict and hesitation.
He knew he had to prove himself.
To prove he was a great, dignified man who had risen above base desires.
Besides, he wasn’t about to lust after a monkey or anything.
He climbed back in through the window, took a deep breath, opened his eyes, and was about to explain to everyone.
“You misunderstood…”
Red wanted to say more, but his eyes landed on Letia.
At that moment, the girl had her stockings half-off, and her pale blue lacy panties were slowly slipping down her calves.
She stared back at Red in shock, clearly not expecting him to have returned, let alone not left at all.
The wind from the window blew in, lifting the hem of her nun’s dress…
With such a view before him, Red instinctively pressed his hands together.
“Thank you for the meal.”
