“Wow, Old Lin, don’t tell me you didn’t sleep all night—were you that excited?”
Yike also woke up unusually early today. When he rubbed his eyes and found Lin Sheng sitting in a chair, locked in a staring contest with the Invitation Letter in his hands, he couldn’t help but let out a gasp.
“Yeah, can’t help it. I’m the type who can’t sleep before a field trip even as a kid. Saint Laia is still way too authoritative for me.”
“Mm, but judging from your state and complexion, Old Lin, you won’t be leaving a good first impression.”
“Uh, I’ll go wash my face.”
Lin Sheng struggled to stand up from the chair.
Maybe it was from sitting too long, but he felt a bit dizzy as he rose.
After staggering for a moment, he slowly walked to the sink on the balcony.
The cool tap water splashed onto his face, washing away much of the fatigue from staying up late.
For some reason, Lin Sheng’s heart was pounding in his chest.
He didn’t know if it was from lack of sleep, anticipation for visiting Saint Laia, or expectation for something else about to happen.
It was summer, and even though it was only five in the morning, the sky was already turning light.
The letter said someone would come to pick him up—just from that, it was clearly someone from within Saint Laia.
Yike said Saint Laia Academy was filled with only women, so what kind of person would be coming to pick him up?
Lin Sheng shook his head.
Thinking about this now was pointless.
Even if it was an absolute beauty, someone like him—a poor boy—would probably have nothing to do with her.
“Old Lin, come out quick, someone’s here.”
Just as Lin Sheng was spacing out, Yike’s voice came from outside.
What? Someone’s here?
Lin Sheng quickly grabbed a towel and wiped his face, then walked back inside.
There was someone standing in the room.
To be precise, a young woman dressed in a Maid uniform stood there, her posture elegant and dignified, curvaceous and poised.
Although she hadn’t introduced herself, Lin Sheng already assumed she was from Saint Laia.
She looked about twenty, wearing a modified Maid outfit.
Unlike the classic, formal Maid uniforms, this one emphasized her figure, accentuating every curve.
Looking lower, the skirt wasn’t the traditional long Maid dress but a short skirt, with her long, slender legs wrapped in thick black stockings.
The black stockings were particularly eye-catching and seductive—just looking at them brought bliss.
Not to mention the long boots on her feet.
If only those boots could step on me with a look of disdain—even being her dog would be worth it!
Lin Sheng thought so, unconsciously swallowing, the “gulp” sound especially loud in the quiet dorm.
“Tsk. Hasn’t anyone told you, sir, that staring at a lady’s feet is extremely rude?”
“S-sorry, I sincerely apologize!”
Only when the Maid spoke in her cold voice did Lin Sheng manage to tear his eyes away from those legs, finally looking at her face.
And then he saw a face that almost made him forget to breathe.
She was stunningly beautiful, with a sense of aggression and coldness matching her voice.
Long, light purple hair flowed down her back, meticulously groomed even though it wasn’t tied up.
Her eyes were a rare amethyst shade, matching her hair, now narrowed with a look of scrutiny and contempt as she gazed at Lin Sheng, the corners of her mouth curled in disdain.
That’s it.
That’s exactly the expression.
Lin Sheng had a secret only Yike knew—he had a slight M tendency.
Though he often begged Yike to cosplay and give him a look of disdain, Yike’s appearance lacked the aggression, so it was just wishful thinking, never truly satisfying Lin Sheng.
But the Maid in front of him was different. The contempt in her expression came from deep within, not mere acting.
Though it was odd, Lin Sheng actually felt a thrill from it.
“Sigh, hasn’t anyone told you that smiling idiotically at a lady’s face is also rude?”
Yike slapped his forehead from the side, looking like he couldn’t bear to watch.
If there really was a Camera here, Lin Sheng’s expression would definitely be a viral moment.
“But it’s understandable. With a brain as shallow as sir’s, it’s probably filled with yellow trash, smooth as a ball.”
After saying that, the Maid didn’t seem satisfied, glancing at Yike and continuing, “Has the school spirit at Silvermoon Academy degenerated this much? Allowing men and women to share a room—no wonder, sir, your face looks so otherworldly.”
Yike, who’d been hiding at the side ready to watch the show, stiffened at the sudden turn of the conversation, then immediately protested.
“I’m a man!”
“A man?”
But obviously, Yike’s protest only deepened the Maid’s misunderstanding.
Her look of contempt grew even more pronounced, scanning both Lin Sheng and Yike with obvious disdain but saying nothing more.
As Yike couldn’t stand that gaze and was about to explain, the Maid suddenly spoke:
“Forget it. I’m not particularly concerned about your preferences, Mr. Lin Sheng. I won’t say more, lest you find it enjoyable.”
No need to worry—it was already enjoyable.
Heh heh.
Lin Sheng suddenly wished this was a prank, with a Camera filming him.
Though it would make him look stupid, at least he’d have a keepsake of the Maid.
After all, Lin Sheng knew well—if he missed this chance, there’d never be anyone who could satisfy him this much again.
“Mr. Ball, please stop smiling foolishly. We need to depart.”
The Maid seemed to have found a more fitting title for Lin Sheng.
She spoke it without hesitation, mercilessly.
“Depart? Where to?”
Clearly, Lin Sheng still wasn’t sure what was happening, his attention fixed on the earlier conversation with the Maid.
“Tsk, has your brain really been kicked away like a ball, sir? Look at the letter you left on the desk. Where do you think we’re going?”
Uh, so she really was someone sent by Saint Laia to pick him up.
Saint Laia truly hides its depths— even the Maids are this elegant.
Lin Sheng couldn’t imagine what the real young ladies would be like.
But he didn’t have time to let his thoughts wander for long.
The Maid soon “invited” him out of the dorm with her powerful gaze.
Yet as they left, the Maid glanced meaningfully at Yike before stepping out without looking back.
“Maid, how are we going to Saint Laia Academy? I remember it’s not exactly close.”
“Don’t call me ‘Maid’. My name is Serveyia. Just call me Serveyia. There’s a dedicated plane to pick us up, so we won’t be late. You can rest assured, Mr. Ball.”
Lin Sheng wanted to keep talking with the Mai—uh, with Serveyia, to get closer, but it was clear she didn’t want to chat, not even turning her head as she replied.
“Could you stop calling me ‘Mr. Ball’? I have a name too. Just call me Lin Sheng.”
If it were just “Mr. Ball” alone, Lin Sheng could comfort himself that it was a personal nickname. But since she’d explained the meaning, it just felt weird now.
“When the day comes that Mr. Ball can prove to me that his intelligence surpasses that of a ball, I’ll consider using a different name.”
