A week passed in the blink of an eye.
On this day, Wan Mie, who loved to sleep in, got up early from bed and busied herself in the kitchen.
The reason was simple.
Today, she was going to join Miku for the Ryudanshi Girls’ Academy’s Shuxue Lvxing, heading to Nara.
Nara in Japan was famous for its herds of deer.
Even though Wan Mie, who had been a homebody for almost her entire previous life, longed endlessly for Japanese culture, for various reasons, she never managed to go—even dying from slipping on that damned banana peel.
She never expected that after reincarnating in this world, she would, by a twist of fate, end up going to the place she’d always wanted to visit.
Wan Mie made a silent resolve: after this incident was over, she’d find a chance to visit every place in Japan she could, to fix her otaku tendencies.
She and Miku had agreed to meet at eight o’clock at the Ryudanshi Girls’ Academy gate.
Normally, activities like Shuxue Lvxing were only open to school members, but as a popular Idol and a young lady, how could Miku not have special privileges?
Bringing along two more people was just a matter of a word.
After about half an hour in the kitchen, Wan Mie came out with freshly steamed meat buns.
Shinomiya, still lying in bed, sniffed the aroma, rubbed her eyes in a daze, climbed out of bed, and stretched with a big yawn, looking half-asleep.
Shinomiya’s Spirit Power had not been sealed yet, and there was no way Wan Mie would leave her alone in the Single Apartment, so she’d told her about the trip a week ago.
Of course, after telling Miku about it, the other party readily agreed.
This news had thrilled Shinomiya.
She’d been eagerly looking forward to traveling with Wan Mie for days, and last night was so excited she couldn’t sleep until midnight.
If Wan Mie hadn’t coaxed her with every trick she knew, Shinomiya probably wouldn’t have slept at all…
“You’re awake? If so, go wash up and get changed. It’s almost time.”
Wan Mie reminded her gently.
Hearing that time was running out, the sleepiness on Shinomiya’s face vanished.
She jumped out of bed and rushed to wash up.
Wan Mie smiled wryly.
How much was this little one looking forward to it?
About ten minutes later, Shinomiya had finished washing and changed into a simple white dress, with a sunhat on her head—something Wan Mie had specially bought for her on their last shopping trip.
Naturally, Shinomiya loved it, and wore it almost every time she went out.
The current time was just past seven.
Ryudanshi Girls’ Academy wasn’t far from where Wan Mie lived—about a thirty-minute walk.
While the two were eating breakfast, Wan Mie suddenly noticed a strange noise outside the apartment, and frowned.
She remembered her neighbors had mostly moved out; she was the only resident on this floor.
Could some criminal be targeting her?
To outsiders, Wan Mie was just a single girl living alone—just the type criminals would target.
Not to mention, her looks outshone even top Idols, making her even more likely to attract the wrong kind of attention.
But Wan Mie was a real Spirit.
Why would she be afraid of something like this?
She set down the half-eaten meat bun, summoned her Angel, and walked toward the door.
Shinomiya looked worried, but Wan Mie just smiled and told her not to worry.
Please, she’d taken down a Gang Organization base before.
Why would she care about a small fry?
Just as Wan Mie was about to open the door, the footsteps outside stopped right at her door.
That confirmed her suspicion.
She quickly opened the door, aiming Annihilation at the forehead of the person outside.
“Oh my, Wan Mie-san, your way of welcoming guests sure is unique~”
A voice as sweet as cream came from before her.
“Huh?”
Wan Mie felt a jolt of familiarity.
Looking closer, wasn’t the person standing there Miku?!
“Wow! Miss Izayoi?!”
Wan Mie screamed, hurriedly putting Annihilation away.
She never expected Miku to show up at her door at a time like this…
Miku covered her mouth and laughed softly.
“Wan Mie-san, am I that scary?”
Wan Mie gave a wry smile and explained, “I just didn’t expect Miss Izayoi to come looking for me at this hour.”
“Hehe, am I not allowed to come pick you up?”
“Of course, that’s even better.”
After all, it was Rush Hour now.
Just thinking about the packed trains made Wan Mie’s scalp go numb.
She’d planned to take a Taxi, but the price of Taxis in Japan was sky-high.
If Miku was willing to come pick them up, that was naturally the best.
“Sis, is that the singing big sister from before?”
While the two were talking, Shinomiya walked over timidly.
Miku smiled at her.
“Long time no see, little one.”
But Shinomiya didn’t look her in the eye, hiding behind Wan Mie and making the atmosphere awkward.
Clearly, Shinomiya still remembered that cup of Red Tea from before, and in her simple mind, already regarded Miku as a bad person.
But Miku had come prepared.
She took a palm-sized tin box from her bag and handed it to Wan Mie.
“This is the Red Tea I gave you last time. I noticed little one seemed to like it, so I brought some more.”
Although Miku’s attention seemed focused on Wan Mie that day, how could someone so perceptive not notice Shinomiya’s little expressions?
At this, Shinomiya’s eyes lit up.
But remembering the events of that night, she stared at Miku like a wary kitten.
Miku just laughed.
“There’s nothing extra in this Red Tea. You can drink it safely.”
“R-really?”
She still looked unsure.
But Miku didn’t try to explain further.
She just smiled, “If you don’t believe me, you can try it.”
With a half-skeptical expression, Shinomiya took the small tin box from Wan Mie and ran into the kitchen to brew three cups of tea.
Apparently, she intended for Miku to drink it too, to test the Red Tea’s authenticity.
Seeing Shinomiya’s actions, Miku was amused.
“What a cute little one, Wan Mie-san. I wonder if you’d let me have her?”
Though her words sounded like a joke, Wan Mie immediately felt a sense of crisis.
“No way, she’s mine!”
Pfft!
Miku burst out laughing at Wan Mie’s reaction.
“I never said I’d snatch her from you. Why are you so worked up?”
Wan Mie blushed.
So Miku was teasing her…
However, Wan Mie didn’t hear the tiny voice Miku murmured after her words:
“Anyway, you’ll both be mine soon enough.”
