The next day, Liyami looked at Elnor, who was clinging to Colin, and frowned slightly.
But she quickly realized that this reaction was inappropriate and promptly returned to normal.
Fortunately, no one noticed her unconscious response just now. Elnor was glued to Colin, and Colin, having to deal with Elnor, paid no attention to Liyami.
As for Lavinia, she hadn’t gotten up yet.
Watching the two of them acting so close, Liyami forcibly suppressed the strange feeling in her heart and silently ate her breakfast.
Originally, Liyami hadn’t slept well last night because of what she’d witnessed, and now she couldn’t even eat breakfast peacefully. If she wasn’t careful, she’d catch sight of Elnor’s intimate gestures toward Colin.
Just like now, Elnor was practically pressed up against Colin, as if she wanted to sit on his lap.
Breakfast was laid out on the table in front of them; as usual, Elnor had personally made it, including the portion Liyami was eating.
But this time, Liyami noticed that Colin’s breakfast was much more elaborate than usual—it looked as if Elnor had put in extra effort. In contrast, the breakfast in Liyami’s hands was plain and simple.
Of course, Liyami wouldn’t complain about something like this.
After all, she was already grateful that Elnor made her breakfast at all—how could she have any complaints?
Just as Liyami was thinking this, she caught a glimpse of Elnor out of the corner of her eye. Elnor had speared a piece of meat with her fork and was slowly bringing it to Colin’s mouth, as if she wanted to feed him… Feed him?!
Realizing this, Liyami’s eyes widened in surprise as she stared at the scene: Elnor was about to personally feed Colin.
Of course, Liyami wasn’t the only one surprised—Colin looked a little startled too, but he quickly composed himself and, frowning, politely declined Elnor’s gesture.
Elnor didn’t get upset. Instead, she smiled sweetly and said, “Hehe, so Colin has really grown up now. Do you remember when we were little? We used to do this all the time. Those were such wonderful days—there was nothing else to worry about, just you and me, enjoying every day together. If only we could go back to that time!”
Elnor sighed a few times, lost in her memories. Liyami could tell that Elnor genuinely wished she could return to the past, because her face was full of longing.
But this only made Liyami more puzzled.
She could only see this longing in Elnor’s expression, while Colin showed a completely different look.
After hearing Elnor recall the past, Colin’s face froze, and then he furrowed his brow, looking quite displeased, as if he didn’t want to remember his childhood at all.
This was completely at odds with what Elnor was saying.
What happened between Colin and Elnor when they were children? Why would the same memory make the two of them show such different expressions?
Looking at the two of them—both immersed in the past but with such different expressions—Liyami was certainly curious, but this was their private matter. It wouldn’t be right for her to pry.
The silence was finally broken by Lavinia’s voice as she walked over, stretching lazily.
“Mm~ ah~ mm? It’s already this late? Why didn’t anyone wake me?”
As she spoke, Lavinia sat down next to Liyami, and Lola came over and handed her breakfast.
“Thank you~ You’re so diligent! Keep it up~”
After thanking Lola, Lavinia started eating.
“Mm! It’s still the same familiar taste! Elnor’s cooking is as good as ever!”
Lavinia praised Elnor, then continued eating.
But as she ate, she started to sense that something was off.
Ever since she’d come over, the atmosphere had remained oddly quiet.
Lavinia put down her breakfast and looked around.
But to her confusion, both Liyami and Elnor and Colin were just quietly eating breakfast, not making a sound. The atmosphere was unusually silent.
Although Lavinia felt it was strange, she didn’t notice anything except that Elnor and Colin were sitting a little too close. So, like the others, she silently continued eating breakfast.
It wasn’t until breakfast was over that the mood in the room returned to normal.
After a bit of casual conversation, Colin suddenly said, “I’m heading out today with Elnor. Don’t worry, we won’t be gone long. We’ll be right back.”
As he said this, Colin deliberately glanced at Liyami.
But to his disappointment, Liyami didn’t react at all.
This was only natural.
After all, she’d seen that scene earlier, and she’d also seen Elnor go into Colin’s room last night.
So now that Colin said he was going out with Elnor, it didn’t really surprise her.
Even so, there was a strange feeling in her heart that kept swelling uncontrollably.
But she couldn’t show it, so she had to forcibly suppress the emotion, which made her focus mostly on restraining her feelings, and she barely paid attention to Colin and Elnor’s conversation.
By the time Liyami finally felt a little better, she realized Colin and Elnor were already gone.
“Where did they go?”
Liyami asked Lavinia, who was absorbed in studying the rules for “Grand Adventurer.” Lavinia looked at her in surprise and said, “Where did they go? They went out, didn’t they just say so?”
“R-Really? I kind of spaced out and didn’t notice.”
Hearing this, Liyami grew nervous and replied absentmindedly.
She hadn’t expected that, in trying so hard to suppress her strange feelings, she’d lost track of the time and hadn’t even noticed when Colin and Elnor left.
“That’s true, I saw you spacing out just now. What were you thinking about for so long?”
Lavinia accepted Liyami’s answer and smoothly asked why she’d been lost in thought.
Of course, Liyami couldn’t tell her the real reason, so she just brushed it off.
“Oh, nothing much. I was just wondering how Sifney is doing now, whether she’s learned any powerful new magic at that lab.”
“Her? I’m sure she has. She is a genius mage, after all.”
Luckily, Lavinia didn’t pursue the topic. After replying offhandedly, she went back to immersing herself in the rules for “Grand Adventurer.”
Seeing this, Liyami let out a breath of relief and started looking at the “Grand Adventurer” rulebook that Lavinia had brought over.
Apparently, the game had a new edition, and the rules had been updated.
But, oddly enough, no matter how hard Liyami tried, she couldn’t focus at all, even though she’d always liked this game.
Even if the thing in her hands was just a rulebook and not very interesting, she could tell that it wouldn’t matter what she was holding—she wouldn’t be able to focus on it.
Thinking this, Liyami felt more and more uncomfortable reading the rules.
Finally, she set the rulebook down, got up, and walked toward the door, casually explaining to Lavinia as she left.
“I’m going out for a walk, I’ll be right back!”
