“Is it someone’s birthday?” The Faceless Witch caught a whiff of something delicious, materialized from the void, and swooped over, eager to grab a bite of meat.
“This is for Little Black.” Feini cradled a plate with a piglet and took a quick step back to avoid her.
“Why so stingy? I’ve already arranged a task for Little Black, and the boss is very pleased with her performance.”
The Faceless Witch could only help herself to some high-end pastries, looking quite pleased with herself.
“You’re amazing.” Feini finally set the piglet down and rewarded her with a bite of crispy skin.
“So tasty, so tasty!” Hei Qi Long had already transformed into a bottomless pit, happily devouring meat with big mouthfuls.
“Madam Witch, isn’t there a topic later called Simulated Adventure Party?” Feini sat down, sipped her tea, nibbled on a fancy pastry, and asked her question in passing.
“Yes, but that’s a trial for Special Excellent Students.” The Faceless Witch replied, “Are you joining too?”
“Of course, how could any assignment not include me, this terrifying little magic beast?” Feini said.
“That’s the toughest assignment. You’ll be transferred to the Neutral Zone—also known as the Chaos Mountains, where human Adventurer Squads operate. This is the core objective behind the creation of the God and Demon Academy: to nurture wise demonfolk capable of infiltrating human society.” The Faceless Witch explained.
The so-called [Chaos Mountains] was the no-man’s buffer zone between the Demon Realm and the largest human power, the [United Kingdom].
On the human side, this buffer was called [No Man’s Land].
It was a range of endless mountains, filled with mysterious caves and tunnels, even ancient ruins.
Weak little monsters scuttled everywhere, and ancient, gigantic magical beasts lurked in hiding—naturally attracting countless treasure-seekers with no fear of death.
These people went by a more elegant name: [Adventurer].
Our assignment was to disguise ourselves as adventurers, blend in, and gather information.
Honestly, this activity was rather interesting and felt somewhat innovative.
After all, everything so far had been formulaic isekai plots—Feini was already sick of stories where you could predict the ending in three seconds flat.
“But with your daughter’s combat ability, this task is even easier than extracurricular hunting. As long as you don’t run into a full army unit or the Inquisition Special Demon Hunting Squad, you should all get out in one piece.”
The Faceless Witch spread her small hands.
“During the time Da Bai and I are away, I’ll leave Little Black in your care.” Feini patted Hei Qi Long’s head—soon, she wouldn’t be able to do that for a while.
“Leave it to me.” The Faceless Witch thumped her chest in assurance, “Besides, I wouldn’t dare let this little ancestor get into trouble—she recently beat up the Former President of the Tea Party so badly they’re still stuck in the infirmary.”
“Little Black, be good and behave,” said Feini.
“And regarding the infighting among you students, as Training Director, I can’t interfere.”
The Faceless Witch spoke sternly, “Your performance raises my evaluation—I absolutely cannot step in.”
“Got it.” Feini nodded. “Kids, get some rest early.”
Hei Qi Long ate her fill and went straight to bed—eat, sleep, wake, eat again, but never put on a pound. Truly enviable.
She lived like a worry-free little piggy, born with absolute strength, an invincible physique, and unrivaled defense.
If anyone dared to mess with her, she’d crush them with an elbow. Grudges were settled the same day—never any left overnight.
Bai Yuge ran to the rooftop to meditate, absorbing Moonlight Essence to increase her maximum mana.
Even when meditating, the eldest daughter wore a troubled expression, worries filling her heart, her mind fixed solely on growing stronger.
One daughter was a physical training stats monster, the other a swordsman-magician. Each truly had their own unique strengths.
—————-
Soon, the appointed day arrived.
The six original members of old Dorm 302, plus a transfer student, all assembled.
Lately, none of them needed to attend class, since Ten-Step Hall’s application for a [Simulated Topic] had been approved.
The witches wholeheartedly supported their mysterious assignment—besides Feini, everyone else was among the God and Demon Academy’s most outstanding new generation of demonfolk apprentices.
And the first step in mimicking an Adventurer Squad, of course, was changing outfits and assigning roles.
Seven girls, led by the Witch Instructor, arrived at a hidden Artifact Museum.
Here were all sorts of human curiosities collected by the Nameless Witch—strange and unusual things of every kind, whether useful or not was another question.
The Nameless Witch had also collected a vast array of human clothes.
After all, she was a witch, not a warlock. A fondness for collecting clothes was perfectly normal.
So the Witch Instructor had prepared infiltration outfits for everyone: dozens of adventurer dresses for the girls to pick from.
But they couldn’t just pick at random—they had to choose outfits that matched their personas and combat styles, or they’d blow their cover.
Faced with so many strange costumes, everyone got excited—whether they acted aloof or sunny, whether they were bodyguards or bratty girls, whether they were fox-spirits or weapon-maniacs, even a few-month-old baby—if they were girls, they loved looking at clothes.
Only Feini showed no interest in outfits. With her hands behind her back, she strolled along, inspecting each rack like a veteran leader on an inspection.
Very quickly, she picked out a set of equipment for Bai Yuge.
She sent her daughter into the changing room, telling her to take off her uniform and put on the new outfit.
Bai Yuge dawdled for a long time before changing, which was odd given her usually quick, decisive manner.
“Da Bai, what’s wrong?” Feini grew concerned and peeked her little head in.
“Mother…” There sat Bai Yuge on the floor, topless and helpless, holding a pure white lace bra in her small hands, looking from side to side, completely lost as to how to put it on.
“Shh, keep your voice down.” Feini had no choice but to squeeze in and help her put it on.
What could she say—just like her no-good father, she was a B-minus little bun. To put it nicely, her figure was slender and streamlined; to put it bluntly, she was a runway.
So Bai Yuge had always worn sports bras, never needing a real bra.
“Just fasten it here, gently.”
The set Feini picked was a petite, pure white lace bra—she hadn’t thought she’d have to teach her daughter how to wear it.
But on reflection, she realized she’d never really taught her girls much.
Bai Yuge learned magic from the Faceless Witch, swordsmanship from Qingshamu—Feini’s only real contribution was giving birth to them. She didn’t really have anything to teach.
Hei Qi Long had also spent time learning general knowledge and transformation with the Faceless Witch—though it seemed not much knowledge had actually stuck.
Bai Yuge’s learning ability was phenomenal—she mastered anything immediately. But when it came to flexibility, she was a bit lacking, just like her stubborn, wooden father.
“All done. How do you feel?”
Feini straightened Bai Yuge’s collar and turned her to face the mirror.
In the mirror, Da Bai looked every bit the quintessential otherworldly holy knight maiden—the kind of outfit made purely for aesthetics, with practicality almost zero.
Underneath was a light, floaty white dress, with a few pieces of silver light armor on top, only covering vital areas.
Add a pair of thick-soled tactical boots, black compression stockings squeezing her legs—her feet would definitely get sweaty.
In short, there was plenty to nitpick.
But the only real question was: does it look good?
We otherworldly pretty girls just need to look cool—practicality is beside the point.
