“I heard there’s a really impressive little girl among the first-years. Looks like you’re about to walk the same path I did,” Meidong said, sitting down at the round table, crossing his long legs, exuding arrogance and pride.
“Former President, what are you trying to say?” Haime closed the door.
“Of course, I’m just here to see how the wheel of fate always turns, haha.” Meidong burst into loud laughter.
“You’re wrong. Your wheel of fate will not turn,” Haime replied with a smile as well.
“I’m wrong? Tell me how,” Meidong’s laughter stopped abruptly, and he asked coldly.
“You’re not one of us. You’re not of the Dragon Clan. You’ll never understand our way of doing things,” Haime retorted with a mocking tone.
“Bam! Bam!” Meidong slammed the table hard, his eyes glaring with fury as he roared, “Dragons again! Damn Dragons! The strongest among Demonkind are not just your clan!”
As he spoke, his eyes turned blood red, his skin grew pale and colorless, his mouth sprouted fangs, and his whole body emanated wisps of blood aura.
It wasn’t just the Former President; the noble ladies he brought with him also transformed together, turning into crimson fiends, glaring fiercely at Haime, surrounding her.
“If you’d come for a fight after the election results, I might have taken you seriously, Vampires,” Haime remained unruffled, smiling even more brightly.
“You’re alone, while we have dozens, all third-generation Bloodline. If we really fought, you wouldn’t have the upper hand,” Meidong snapped.
“Third generation? If your Progenitor’s own sons or daughters stood before me, I might show a bit of respect,” Haime scoffed disdainfully, “If the Dragon Clan truly had the advantage, we wouldn’t waste so many words.”
“Don’t get cocky! If that’s the case, the enemy of my enemy is my friend. We’ll meet again on the battlefield,” Meidong sneered.
“Is playing lapdog to someone else your strategy to deal with me?” Haime continued to mock sharply, piercing right to the point.
No one had ever seen the strength of the Red Dragon, but her sharp tongue was undeniably fearsome.
“You!” Meidong trembled with rage, wanting to say more.
In the next instant, a black figure silently appeared right before him, hands in her pockets, looking down at him from above.
Meidong and his Vampire noble ladies were all startled.
None of them had realized there was someone else hiding in the room.
And Vampires have powerful senses—they don’t fear confronting others openly, but what they dread most is enemies hiding in the shadows.
Every Bloodline is a master assassin, so coming here to confront the Red Dragon face-to-face actually meant they had no intention of really fighting; they just wanted to threaten Haime.
“Who are you?!” Meidong demanded loudly.
“……” Kurosaki didn’t answer. She simply kept her hands in her pockets, looking coldly and contemptuously at the Former President without a hint of expression.
This humanoid monster before him gave off no reaction to his Vampire senses.
She was like a demon returned from hell, devoid of any sign of life, her blood scent undetectable—was that why the Vampire senses failed on her?
A natural stealth expert, blending into her surroundings. As long as she remained silent and still, she could hide here forever.
Vampires call themselves the children of the night, yet the presence of this woman was even deeper and darker than them.
“She’s the new Bodyguard I hired,” Orange Sea Dream Haime introduced, then, having thought of a clever idea, smiled and said, “If you want to fight, don’t do it in my office. The Tea Party has a place for you to settle things.”
“Just waiting for you to say that! If you have the guts, come with me!” Meidong shouted, not realizing he’d already fallen for her provocation.
He then shoved open the door of the President’s office and led his Vampire noble ladies out first, shouting all the way to make sure every Senior Student in the Tea Party knew there was about to be a Duel.
“Well, there’s no helping it,” Orange Sea Dream Haime pretended to sigh, leading the little Kurosaki out of the President’s office and towards the upcoming battle.
This was her chance to test the strength of this half-dragon girl.
Though she didn’t think little Kuro could beat the Former President Meidong, it didn’t matter even if she lost.
After all, she was just a Bodyguard. What really mattered was to see what her true strength was.
If she lost, it would be seen as giving Meidong some face, and others would just think Haime was gracious.
The chosen battleground was the Gymnasium beside the Senior Students’ Tea Party Club building.
This Gymnasium was also a Tea Party club facility, open only to Tea Party members.
The interior had been specially renovated—constructed entirely from pure, high-magic-resistance White Bricks, and coated outside with an extra layer of Anti-Magic Coating, made specifically so Tea Party members could train their magic without worrying about damaging the surroundings.
Suddenly, nearly a hundred Tea Party members rushed in—some even skipped class after hearing the news, sprinting back to the Gymnasium to watch.
In no time, the entire perimeter of the Tea Party Gymnasium was packed with onlookers, not a single gap in sight.
And all of them were second- and third-year Magical Beast Apprentices, magic users of the highest caliber.
“Heh, where is she?”
Former President Meidong stood at the center of the arena, arms crossed, clearly pleased with the spectacle. After all, his goal was to stir up as much attention as possible and thus boost his own prestige.
Behind him was a whole entourage of Vampire noble ladies—whether or not they were strong was irrelevant, their imposing presence alone was overwhelming.
A moment later, President Haime arrived at the Gymnasium as well. However, she just stood by the side, watching the show, making no comment, which left everyone puzzled.
Then, a tall girl with deep blue, tousled hair slowly squeezed through the crowd and walked step by step toward Former President Meidong.
“Who is she?”
“Never seen her before.”
“Is she a new member?”
The crowd murmured, growing ever more confused.
But seeing that President Haime still said nothing, it seemed the mysterious student challenging the Former President had to be her.
“Haha, you actually dared to come,” Meidong laughed, then instantly turned cold. With a sharp wave of his hand, he barked, “All of you, step back!”
The Vampire noble ladies promptly withdrew, joining the crowd of spectators to watch the show.
A real duel had to be one-on-one; otherwise, no one would acknowledge the winner.
This rule owed itself to the regulations of the God and Demon Academy. In the Demon Domain, no one else cared whether things were fair or not.
“Can we start now?” Kurosaki asked casually, hands in her pockets.
Such fearlessness for a mere child—though, in truth, she was only a few months old.
“Seeking death!” The Former President’s face twisted with savagery as he bared his fangs and chanted his signature technique, “[Secret Blood Technique: Ten Thousand Swords as One].”
In the blink of an eye, dozens of blood swords formed around Kurosaki, shooting toward her with deadly speed.
Her opponent struck with a killing move from the very start—there was nowhere to run.
