But there was at least one thing that could be considered good news: the “Endless Abyssal One” had stopped regenerating.
All the black threads behind it had snapped, leaving none connected to its body. It seemed to have abandoned its recovery state, shifting instead into a state of frenzied assault.
It probably understood that if it didn’t deal with Liyami, even if it tried to recover, she would surely interrupt it—and it would only give Colin more time to charge his power. Rather than that, it was better to eliminate Liyami first, then break Colin’s charge.
The “Endless Abyssal One’s” intentions weren’t hard to guess; Liyami figured it out in just a second. So she melted back into the shadows, swiftly relocating, and once again emerged from darkness, sprinting away with her feet on the ground.
By doing this, Liyami reduced the time spent in the shadows, conserving her mana, and made it difficult for the “Endless Abyssal One” to predict her next move. This prevented its pitch-black void from unleashing its full potential.
Of course, this meant the dangers she faced increased greatly. After all, running across the ground meant she couldn’t avoid encountering the black fireballs and dark tendrils conjured by the “Endless Abyssal One.” She had to split her focus to dodge these attacks; one mistake and it would all be over.
After narrowly dodging another wave of black tendrils, the “Endless Abyssal One” seized its chance and lunged at Liyami with its true body, conjuring a barrage of black fireballs to cut off every escape route around her.
Even if Liyami wanted to sink into the shadows, it was impossible, for the darkness beneath her feet began to writhe, and black tendrils were about to burst forth. She couldn’t dive into the shadow below her; she was trapped in a dead end. The “Endless Abyssal One” could already taste victory.
Yet Liyami did not panic—because she knew, she was not fighting alone!
Countless green arrows rained down from above, destroying every black fireball one by one. Even the “Endless Abyssal One” was forced to halt its charge. Liyami seized the opportunity and swiftly escaped the deadlock.
The “Endless Abyssal One” was clearly annoyed. Its carefully laid trap had been so easily dismantled, and it had even suffered new wounds—a truly fruitless exchange.
It turned its gaze to Lavinia, the elf it had always ignored before. Since she posed no threat, it had paid her little heed. Even when the elf pelted it with arrows, it figured she would eventually run out of stamina—no need to eliminate her right away.
But it hadn’t expected that, after all this time, this golden-haired elf still had the strength to unleash such a torrential arrow rain! It seemed it would be safer to deal with her first.
Yet Lavinia’s situation was anything but optimistic. That last barrage of arrows had nearly exhausted her entire strength. She was already panting, even drawing her bow was becoming difficult.
But the “Endless Abyssal One” showed no mercy. Black fireballs began to appear all around Lavinia, and the shadows near her started writhing as well. Clearly, the “Endless Abyssal One” intended to end her life this time.
Seeing this, Lavinia, with what little strength she had left, drew her bow and shot a few arrows, knocking down several black fireballs. But as she prepared to shoot again, she realized she had no arrows left. Nor did she have enough mana within her to unleash another elven secret art. She was now in a deadlock, just as Liyami had been moments ago.
But just as she had helped Liyami before, Liyami now came to her rescue.
The “Endless Abyssal One” was about to attack when it suddenly felt a powerful suction force from behind, causing it to halt its actions to resist it. There was no need to guess what was happening—the “Endless Abyssal One” turned to see Liyami using a capsule.
Once again, she interrupted its actions. Liyami could even sense the rage overflowing from it.
The “Endless Abyssal One” ignored Lavinia and focused solely on Liyami. After all, it knew the elf no longer had the strength to interfere.
As the “Endless Abyssal One” had guessed, Lavinia had no mana, no arrows, and barely any strength left. She could no longer help Liyami; all she could do was hope that Liyami would be lucky in what came next.
Fortunately, Colin was nearly done charging his power. Just a few more seconds, just a few seconds would do!
Those few seconds passed quickly—so quickly that Liyami managed to dodge the “Endless Abyssal One’s” attacks unscathed until Colin was almost done.
But just as Liyami relaxed, a black fireball suddenly exploded next to her, catching her completely off guard.
She was blasted aside, but after tumbling, she quickly merged into the darkness again. But it was too late. When she tried to sink into the shadows, she found that all the surrounding shadows were surging wildly—it was a trap.
Soon, the writhing darkness became black tendrils that bound Liyami tightly, rendering her unable to move. She could not escape this time.
After all this time, the “Endless Abyssal One” had finally caught Liyami. It was about to execute the one who had hindered it so long when suddenly a blinding light caught its attention.
It was coming from Colin’s direction. He had finished charging his power; all he had to do was swing his sword, and he could cut down the “Endless Abyssal One.”
This scene sent the “Endless Abyssal One” into a panic. After a split second of thought, it decisively abandoned executing Liyami and rushed toward the space below the broken bridge.
There’s still time! As long as I reach the underside of the broken bridge before that Paladin swings his sword—before his sword light touches me! With my speed, I can make it!
The “Endless Abyssal One’s” intentions were clear as day—everyone present could see what it was thinking.
So, when it crashed headlong into a barrier that had suddenly appeared atop the broken bridge, Colin unleashed his sword, pouring all his strength into the strike and slashing directly at the utterly bewildered “Endless Abyssal One.”
The “Endless Abyssal One” hadn’t even figured out when the barrier appeared when the dazzling sword light was already right before it. It had no time for anything else and poured all its strength into the black mist around its body, forming a shield in front, hoping to block Colin’s sword light.
But unfortunately, its shield lasted less than a second after contact with the sword light before shattering to pieces.
The sword light struck the “Endless Abyssal One’s” body, and after an incomparably brilliant flash of light, none present could sense the evil aura it once exuded.
Where the “Endless Abyssal One” had stood, there remained only a wisp of black mist, about to dissipate. That mist didn’t last long; in just a few seconds, it disappeared without a trace.
Colin’s all-out strike had successfully slain the “Endless Abyssal One,” securing victory in this battle.
