“You… what exactly did you do?”
Xueyuedai glared at Feini with a furious yet flushed face, her lips bleeding from biting herself in frustration, clearly wishing she could tear Feini apart on the spot—but she couldn’t even move a step.
“Me? I just shivered.” Feini answered blankly.
“You shivered on me?” Xueyuedai demanded angrily, her face full of despair.
She was a once-in-a-millennium double supreme talent Nine-tailed Fox. How could she possibly lose to a terrifying little Demonic Beast?
Unacceptable! Absolutely unacceptable!!!
“Emma, are you okay?” Feini tentatively asked. “What happened?”
Those words were like pouring fuel on the fire—an insult piled on top of humiliation—causing Xueyuedai’s legs to give out and collapse to her knees.
Everyone else was lying down, and only Feini was still standing, looking puzzled.
“I will kill you… I will kill your entire family…” Xueyuedai snarled under her breath.
Feini was ready to run away but turned back when she heard those words, pacing around as if considering something. Her expression suddenly grew serious as she picked up a huge stone from the ground.
“What do you think you’re doing!?” Xueyuedai struggled to look up.
The terrifying little Demonic Beast stepped closer, her usually melancholic widow’s face now cold and ruthless.
Xueyuedai knew she really meant business this time.
“You shouldn’t threaten my family.” Feini raised the stone high.
“You… no…” This time she couldn’t be arrogant anymore. Fear flooded her eyes.
“Bang!” But in the end, Feini only slammed the stone onto the ground nearby, not actually attacking.
Then she turned and slipped into the grass beside her, looking cold and carefree on the surface, but really just trying to find a good place to hide.
“Phew~” Xueyuedai was so scared she clenched herself tightly, weakly collapsing onto the ground.
Yet she was filled with confusion over Feini’s mercy—her heart torn.
Why didn’t she kill me? Could it be that she actually cares about me…
But in truth, Feini didn’t have all these complicated thoughts.
She simply knew she couldn’t kill her outright, so she didn’t go all out.
Because once a Senior Apprentice Contract is seriously injured, the Transmission Bottle automatically shatters, instantly sending Xueyuedai back to the God and Demon Academy’s infirmary, where as long as she’s barely alive, she can be saved.
Since she couldn’t kill her completely, it was better not to. Inflicting serious injuries only breeds hatred, which is a long-term danger.
Feini had also gained a new understanding of her own body. Normally, a small monster like her with maxed-out defense would have relatively weak mental strength, but it seemed her spirit was quite strong, able to resist the Nine-tailed Fox’s mental invasion.
Though Feini had no idea what she actually did—she had just clumsily dealt with Xueyuedai without much thought.
There was no way around it. The original story gave no analysis of the Parasitic Demon Sword, just making it a pure background prop to highlight the protagonist.
Everyone just knew the Demon-Slaying Sword was powerful, and that was it.
Feini understood the abilities of most characters, even her own daughter, but she didn’t understand herself.
A confused transmigrator like her was rare. Most who crossed over lost all their power, and the usual path was to recover strength and then crush those who looked down on them.
But could she regain her power? She didn’t know—everything was a mystery.
A weakling transmigrator like her was uncommon. Even knowing her daughter was surrounded and attacked outside, Feini was helpless.
To avoid being discovered and captured as a hostage, she had to sneak deeper into denser grass to hide.
At least she had taken down the enemy’s number two.
I contributed to the team!
Fat Nini made a great achievement; now it was time to leave the stage to her teammates.
—————
The perspective shifted back to the corpse of the unlucky Steelback Dragon.
The battle hadn’t ended with its death—instead, it raged even more fiercely.
This wasn’t training—it was real combat. Bai Yuge·Rose and Qingshamu were surrounded by dozens of Tea Ceremony Society members, yet they handled it relatively well, just in different ways.
Qingshamu gracefully darted back and forth, effortlessly evading attacks; none of the Tea Ceremony members could land a hit.
But she only dodged and maneuvered, never drew her sword—showing off for dozens of rounds without knocking down a single member.
“Bang! Bang! Bang!”
On the other side, Bai Yuge·Rose was going all out, wildly swinging her Rune Sword, performing her self-taught Fast and Slow Swordsmanship, knocking several Tea Ceremony members to the ground.
This showcased the special trait of melee Demonic Beasts—every Tea Ceremony member could withstand sharp slashes, but Bai Yuge relied on brute force to knock them unconscious, bloodied on the ground.
That was the biggest difference between Demonic Beasts and ordinary wild beasts: all Demonic Beasts came with Thick Hide.
Normal weapons barely harmed them; swords and knives were no better than iron bars. Magic was actually the most effective against Demonic Beasts.
“Bang! Bang! Bang!”
Bai Yuge was occasionally hit by heavy punches from Tea Ceremony members. Her movement wasn’t as graceful as Qingshamu’s—more aggressive and impulsive, favoring offense.
She even traded blows, knowing that if she took a punch, the enemy would definitely suffer a charged heavy slash in return.
This was the beauty of stats—the Tea Ceremony members’ heavy punches only shook her slightly, like a roly-poly toy, and she even used the enemy’s attack force against them, countering with an even stronger strike.
The techniques Qingshamu taught her—block counter, dodge counter, parry counter—she hadn’t learned any of those.
Instead, she developed her own style of taking hits and counterattacking, channeling rage and stacking strength.
The dozens of Tea Ceremony members couldn’t take down the fierce duo of Qingshamu and Bai Yuge, and had already knocked out half of their own.
Advanced Apprentices who fainted were instantly sent away by their Transmission Bottles, but normal apprentices didn’t have this feature.
If they didn’t wake up and break the bottle themselves, they’d be stuck there forever.
“These two…”
The Tea Ceremony leader, a burly man, was sweating heavily, realizing that Qingshamu and Bai Yuge were not ordinary members to deal with.
Qingshamu’s strength as a top student was expected, but where on earth had this transfer student come from? How was she so strong?
“Damn Kendo Club! I’ll teach you a lesson!”
The burly man finally struck, suddenly launching a jet-powered step forward, his flying fist charging straight at the transfer student.
He clearly didn’t dare attack Qingshamu and instead chose to pick on the softer target first.
After all, Qingshamu was the woman who shattered the Blackstone of Trial.
Although she was now dodging without attacking, the Thick Hide Demonic Beast theory didn’t apply to her at all.
