“Do you really not need my help?”
Litt stood outside the shop, looking at the two men in front of her as she asked.
“That big bed must be a hassle to move, right?”
“Litt, you don’t need to worry about us,” Red waved his hand dismissively.
“Let the men handle this kind of heavy lifting. Aren’t you supposed to go pray at the convent this afternoon? You’ve already spent the whole morning hanging out with me—that’s gratitude enough. You’d better head off quickly; don’t be late.”
Seeing how determined Red and Tos were, Litt didn’t press further and simply smiled.
“Well then, thanks to both of you. I’ll buy you some mead later.”
“You’re not exactly good with alcohol…”
Red muttered, but didn’t pay much attention to it.
Besides, mead isn’t very strong compared to that wine we had before…
“Anyway, see you later!”
Litt dashed off.
Tos stared blankly at the girl’s departing figure and muttered to himself.
“To be honest, I once thought she was an angel come down to earth. A girl with that kind of personality and looks is like something out of a fairy tale. Compared to that foul-tempered Liz, she’s a hundred times better. Red, I think you should consider pursuing her.”
“Pursuing her?”
Red smiled bitterly and shook his head.
“Impossible.”
Even though she had shown clear goodwill toward him, based on his assumptions, the gap in their statuses was just too wide—there was no way it could work out.
Just like… with Liz.
Back when the Dawn’s Edge wasn’t even formed, he had already met Liz.
As a young man, he had firmly believed in a long future where they could walk side by side.
But dreams could never withstand the cold reality.
A noble heiress living in the clouds, and himself struggling in the dust—there was an innate, bottomless chasm between them.
Differences in values silently pushed them further apart.
From close friends who shared everything to almost strangers who barely spoke, it only took less than three years.
And now, it had ended so unpleasantly.
The human heart is something that can’t stand the test of time.
So rather than holding onto illusions, it’s better to silently watch from afar and keep a distance.
After all, Red was a little afraid.
“Why do you say that? You think Litt isn’t good enough?”
“I’m not saying Litt isn’t good enough. It’s just… she’s too good. So good that I’m a little intimidated, afraid to get close.”
“Basically, you’re a coward?”
“…You’re not wrong.”
Red couldn’t argue against his friend’s sharp criticism.
“I think maybe you’re too deeply influenced by Liz. Perhaps things aren’t as complicated as you think?”
“Hopefully.”
Red’s expression made Tos seem to understand something.
He fell silent for a moment before letting out a sigh.
“Don’t overthink it, Red. If you truly think Miss Litt isn’t a bad person, I suggest you give it a try.”
“Don’t leave regrets in your life, and don’t let her become a distant, unreachable white moonlight.”
Hearing his friend’s advice, Red nodded faintly, though it was unclear how much he actually took in.

Elsewhere, Litt rubbed her cheeks after walking some distance away.
Keeping a smile on constantly was exhausting.
But to maintain her persona, she couldn’t stop now.
So she forced herself to keep up that very obedient and sweet smile.
Come to think of it, Litt had been trying to raise her presence in town these past few days, and many had complimented her on being cute and well-behaved.
What was odd, though, was that no one inside the White Church Convent had questioned her arrival.
Although she had obtained the Emblem of the White Church, logically, someone in the convent should have noticed something was off when a “Litt” with the same name suddenly appeared.
It shouldn’t be this lax.
She had initially hoped to use this as a way to lure out the real Litt, but so far, the real one was far too cautious.
What exactly were they up to?
Litt pondered this, but looking on the bright side, being able to move openly inside the convent was at least a good thing.
At least to outsiders, her identity wouldn’t be suspected.
Still, Liz’s investigation hadn’t made any progress.
According to her, the White Church delegation that came to Dawn Town had very deep connections… so deep that even she couldn’t get a handle on it.
The problem was, the White Church was a very small sect.
Even Liz couldn’t figure out their background, which was strange.
From what was known, the real Litt held a high status.
So it wasn’t impossible that the real Litt was using her as a shield.
If that were the case, maybe when the attackers showed up later, she could catch a few alive and see if she could get any answers.
There’s no wall that doesn’t leak, and Litt didn’t believe the real Litt could sit still and do nothing.
“This damn script, you could at least give me some hints now.”
Litt rubbed her temples.
The script in her mind kept replaying death scenes over and over every day and did nothing else useful.
If it gave her some spoilers, she wouldn’t be stuck here unable to move.
“Miss Litt, your work is done for today. Please be careful on your way back.”
A Nun bowed politely to Litt, and her respectful attitude only strengthened Litt’s suspicion that the real Litt wanted to use her as a shield.
“Turns out, none of those who play with holy light are actually sunny.”
Litt’s expression remained unchanged, but inwardly she couldn’t help but point fingers at the real Litt hiding in the shadows.
Are you a Ninja Turtle or something to be able to endure this much?
But since the other side was hiding, there was nothing she could do.
“Better go back.”
Sleeping through difficulties had always been her life’s principle.
With good tools… or rather, a good friend like Liz helping investigate, Litt naturally wasn’t in a hurry.
The time to conquer the twenty-fifth floor of the Dawn’s Edge wasn’t too far off, but it wasn’t exactly urgent.
If pushed too hard, it really would be miserable… she meant mentally.
“I’m back.”
Litt pushed open the door, but the lights inside weren’t on.
The shoes on the rack were neatly arranged.
“Did he go out drinking?”
Normally, Red would have been back by now.
The bedroom light was off, and the kitchen was eerily quiet.
“Strange…”
Just as Litt was muttering, she suddenly heard a rustling sound outside, like something moving through the bushes.
And there was more than one sound, instantly putting Litt on high alert.
No way.
Am I really becoming the real Litt’s shield?
