The moment the words fell.
King Uther VII’s gaze uncontrollably drifted toward Sylvia.
In those eyes burned a nearly maddened fervor.
He had wanted to say, “Welcome home.”
But reason told him it wasn’t the time yet.
He still needed to wait for the right opportunity.
Sylvia felt uneasy under that burning stare.
She lowered her head desperately, wishing she could bury her entire face into her chest.
This old man’s eyes were too strange!
Right now, she just wanted to find a crack in the ground and disappear.
“Sigh, so troublesome…”
Sylvia sighed helplessly in her heart.
Avira watched the scene beside her, frowning deeper and deeper.
Why did this old man have to talk so much nonsense!
He was making her sister uncomfortable with his stare!
“Enough with the nonsense.”
Avira directly interrupted King Uther VII, her tone clearly impatient.
“Is the accommodation arranged?”
“My sister is tired.”
Uther VII’s speech was cut off, but he dared not show the slightest displeasure.
Instead, he nodded repeatedly.
To him, this was clearly the manifestation of the “Sacred Body’s” will!
The Sacred Body did not want to listen to his nonsense.
It must be because she was still bound by dark powers!
“Of course, of course!”
Uther VII’s reply was almost obsequious.
“We’ve prepared the city’s finest Morninglight Villa for Her Highness.”
“That place is the Sanctuary where the Holy See receives its most honored guests.”
“Everything has been prepared to the highest standards!”
Sylvia’s eyelid twitched sharply at the mention of “Morninglight Villa.”
She had a deep impression of the place.
Back when she was cannon fodder knight Ignatius, she had seen that building from afar.
The entire villa was covered inside and out with the Holy Light Array.
It was said that even a mosquito flying inside would be purified on the spot.
For the Blood Clan, it was a moving torture chamber.
“Mother…”
Sylvia whispered, her voice carrying an obvious plea for help.
Ophelia simply stroked her silver hair gently,
signaling for her to be at ease.
That gesture was surprisingly gentle.
Then the procession began entering Dawn City.
Crowds lined the streets on both sides, but everyone was strictly held back at least a hundred meters by the guards.
The scene was eerily quiet.
One could even hear the sound of breathing.
Sylvia sat inside the ornate Blood Clan Sedan, looking out through the light veil.
Every person’s eyes revealed complicated emotions: fear, curiosity, and a kind of religious fanatic worship.
That feeling made Sylvia uncomfortable from head to toe.
“Sis, have we arrived?”
Sylvia’s voice carried obvious fatigue.
“Almost, almost, just hold on a bit more, little sister.”
Avira answered from outside, then her tone suddenly shifted.
“Want me to slaughter all those onlookers?”
“No!”
Sylvia almost jumped out of the sedan in fright.
The procession finally arrived at Morninglight Villa.
The pure white buildings shone with a blinding holiness under the sunlight.
Every pillar, every window was carved with intricate Holy Light runes.
The entire villa radiated a rich golden glow.
Bathed in sunlight, it looked unlike any earthly building.
King Uther VII personally awaited at the entrance.
“This is Morninglight Villa, the Holy See’s supreme Sanctuary.”
“Only the most honored guests may step inside.”
His introduction carried an obvious tone of boasting.
“To welcome Her Highness, we have redecorated it.”
“Every corner has been cleansed with the purest Holy Light.”
“There is absolutely no trace of evil!”
Sylvia stepped down from the sedan immediately, feeling an intense discomfort.
The overwhelming Holy Light energy surged everywhere.
For her, a Blood Clan member, this highly concentrated Holy Light environment was pure torture.
She couldn’t help but furrow her brow.
This subtle expression was keenly noticed by Ophelia.
The Queen’s gaze instantly turned dangerous.
She looked at King Uther VII.
“The ‘light’ here is too harsh.”
“Change it.”
Just two words, yet filled with absolute pressure.
Uther VII was stunned.
“But… this is the purest Holy Light…”
Before he finished speaking, Ophelia had already acted.
The terrifying power of the “Night’s Authority” exploded instantly!
The pitch-black force of the law surged like a tidal wave across the entire villa.
The once-brilliant Holy Light arrays trembled violently, emitting piercing wails.
One by one, they went dark.
***
In less than ten seconds, the villa’s lighting softened and dimmed.
All the Holy Light arrays failed, becoming mere decorative patterns.
Uther VII and the others turned pale with shock.
Their proud Holy Light barrier was as fragile as paper before her.
“This… how is this possible?”
A Captain of the Holy Order blurted out.
“Those arrays are the Holy See’s greatest achievement after a thousand years!”
Ophelia just cast him a glance.
With only that look, the captain felt his blood freeze.
He immediately fell silent, daring not make another sound.
“This feels much better now.”
Ophelia said softly to Sylvia, her tone returning to gentle.
Sylvia nodded.
Indeed, the sensation of being roasted by the Holy Light was gone.
The environment now was much milder.
“Thank you, Mother.”
King Uther VII watched the scene, his heart shaken beyond words.
Is this the power of a pseudo-god level?
To casually destroy their strongest defense system…
But he quickly found a new perspective.
“That’s it!”
He thought frantically.
“The Sacred Body is bound by dark forces.”
“So she cannot bear the pure Holy Light!”
“We must proceed step by step!”
“Cannot rush!”
With this thought, he only became more determined to save Sylvia.
“Her Highness, please enter.”
Uther VII respectfully gestured an invitation.
“Everything has been prepared for you inside.”
Sylvia followed her mother and sister into the villa.
Although the Holy Light arrays were destroyed, the building itself was still beautiful.
The white marble floors were smooth as mirrors.
Exquisite sculptures and murals were everywhere.
The gardens were full of rare and exotic flowers and plants.
“The environment isn’t bad.”
Sylvia murmured.
At least it was far better than that wretched Broken Frontline.
“As long as you like it, little sister.”
Avira smiled.
“If there’s anything unsatisfactory, just tell me.”
“I’ll ‘modify’ it for you.”
Sylvia imagined Avira’s version of “modification,” and quickly shook her head.
“No, no, this is fine.”
King Uther VII listened beside them, his eyes burning with fanatic light.
Indeed!
The Sacred Body’s heart was still kind!
She didn’t want others to destroy beautiful things for her!
This only proved she needed to be saved!
“Her Highness, your room is this way.”
Uther VII led them to the main building.
“This is the best room in the entire villa.”
“Facing east, it receives the first ray of sunlight every morning.”
Sylvia winced at “first ray of sunlight.”
She was Blood Clan now!
Born to dislike sunlight!
How on earth did these people’s brains work?
“Sunlight can be forgotten.”
Sylvia said tactfully.
“I prefer… a quieter environment.”
Uther VII immediately understood her meaning.
“Of course! I will arrange it right away!”
“How about the West Wing Room?”
“It’s quiet there, with little direct sunlight.”
Sylvia nodded.
“Then let it be there.”
They arrived at the West Wing Room.
It was indeed much quieter.
The room was elegantly furnished.
All daily necessities were complete.
Most importantly, the bed looked soft and comfortable.
Sylvia’s eyes lit up instantly.
Finally, she could lie flat!
“Her Highness, do you need anything else?”
Uther VII asked cautiously.
“No.”
Sylvia waved her hand.
“I want to rest a bit.”
“Of course, of course!”
“You have had a long journey and certainly need to rest well.”
Uther VII nodded repeatedly.
“Then we shall not disturb you.”
“If you need anything, just send for someone.”
With that, he led the Holy See dignitaries out.
The room finally fell silent.
Sylvia let out a long breath of relief.
“Finally over.”
She dove into the soft, fluffy bed.
“Ah, the bed is still the most comfortable.”
Avira sat on the bedside, watching her bury herself in the covers, unable to help but smile.
“Little sister, there’s still the formal Grand Welcome Ceremony tonight.”
Sylvia poked her head out of the covers.
“What? Still more?”
“Of course, this is only the first day.”
Avira blinked.
“There are many more events waiting for you.”
Sylvia immediately despaired.
She buried her head back in the covers, emitting a muffled wail.
“Sis, I don’t want to get up…”
