Lin Qingya still didn’t realize why.

She just looked around at her classmates in confusion.

Her instinctive gaze even locked directly onto Cheng Minghao in the front right.

“Come up!”

The English teacher commanded.

The surrounding classmates didn’t dare to make a sound.

Very quickly, Lin Qingya stood at the right end of the podium.

The atmosphere in the classroom was heavy.

The English teacher asked,

She looked down from the podium, then to her left.

The English teacher scolded.

“School doesn’t allow romance, much less forming cliques. Are you trying to break school rules?!”

Lin Qingya said timidly, lowering her head and pouting.

She stood on the podium, awkwardly twisting her fingers, her toes curling and fidgeting.

The English teacher shouted, and said,

“Skipping class for two days straight. I bet you went off to fool around with a boy. Little female student, so shameless…”

“Teacher!”

A male voice sounded from below the podium.

Lin Qingya was still bitter, embarrassed, and silent.

But at this moment, Cheng Minghao stood up below the podium and spoke.

“Skipping class is skipping class, but you can’t humiliate someone!”

“And Lin Qingya skipped class…”

Cheng Minghao hadn’t finished.

“I bet you went off to fool around with him!”

The English teacher interrupted loudly.

“I remember you also skipped class, and I haven’t even dealt with you yet…”

“Then why not call me out for skipping? Why only pick on the female student?! Teacher, don’t bring your personal emotions into the classroom.”

Cheng Minghao said,

“Not every female student is like your wife who abandons home and child!”

The English teacher was furious, eyes red with rage.

Just as the conflict was about to explode.

Facing the teacher’s fury, Lin Qingya’s nervousness and fear, Cheng Minghao remained remarkably calm.

He quickly walked up to the podium, pulled the embarrassed Lin Qingya down, and said,

“It’s not the first time the teacher brought personal emotions into work. The class male students and female students all know it.”

“If the female students complain to the parents, and the parents complain to the school, and then it’s exposed online, I guess the teacher won’t keep the job either.”

“And the newlywed wife might run away again.”

In truth, Cheng Minghao didn’t know the English teacher’s marital status.

He only knew the teacher had gone on blind dates before, which had become gossip among classmates.

What mattered was helping Lin Qingya vent, and making the English teacher even more rattled.

As expected, the English teacher was furious.

He even picked up a wooden pointer, about to come down and hit someone.

Another adult male voice sounded.

As the class teacher of Cheng Minghao and Lin Qingya, he rushed over from next door upon hearing the commotion.

The class teacher grabbed and hugged the English teacher, and the two teachers fell into a struggle.

“Let go of me! Today I’m going to teach this disrespectful kid a lesson!”

The English teacher shouted.

Cheng Minghao, having nothing left to lose, added,

With just a simple sentence, he made the English teacher even more rattled.

The English teacher roared, breaking free from the class teacher’s grip, and swung the pointer at Cheng Minghao, the arc even reaching Lin Qingya.

Lin Qingya was about to get her cheek injured and disfigured.

The classmates, especially the female students, screamed.

Cheng Minghao did a side kick and actually sent the English teacher flying.

“Sorry~ I was beaten since I was a kid, so taking hits is my specialty. Defense and dodging too, but it’s harder when carrying someone…so, sorry.”

He watched the English teacher moan in pain, clutching his chest and head.

“Let’s go!”

Cheng Minghao pulled Lin Qingya along, “Let’s go to the Monitor Room.”

“Huh? Why?”

Lin Qingya asked, instinctively following Cheng Minghao to skip class.

As they walked out, the classroom was still in chaos.

Cheng Minghao said,

“To get evidence, of course. Otherwise, what if I get a Disciplinary Action for hitting someone? I can admit to skipping class, there’s no helping that.”

“But hitting someone…I need proof for self-defense.”

“In that situation, if I dodged, you’d get hurt. As long as there’s video, even if it spreads online, the school and teacher are in the wrong, only the teacher can be punished.”

“Even if they want to give us a Disciplinary Action for skipping class, with a reason, we won’t be at fault.”

“At worst, we get punished first, then write a Guarantee Letter to apply for cancellation. It’s fine. I’ll write the Guarantee Letter for you. Come with me!”

After speaking, Cheng Minghao led Lin Qingya downstairs and skillfully found a Monitor Room.

Inside, a middle-aged female teacher was resting and slacking off.

Cheng Minghao knew her and would occasionally tutor her son.

For a fee, of course.

Part of working part-time to support himself.

When Cheng Minghao explained the situation, the female teacher readily agreed and even muttered, complaining about the English teacher bullying female students.

She was always bringing personal emotions into work.

She complained while searching through video backups.

Then she lent Cheng Minghao a U Disk, telling him to return it when he had time.

“Thanks, teacher.”

Cheng Minghao expressed his gratitude.

This teacher was a teacher in title only, mostly just in charge of the monitors.

Otherwise, she wouldn’t have hired someone to tutor her own middle school son.

With things settled and evidence in hand, they felt more at ease.

Since class was still in session, Cheng Minghao and Lin Qingya couldn’t just climb the wall or sneak out.

The Monitor Room teacher’s U Disk was enough for them to negotiate and protect themselves.

There was no rush to sneak off campus to buy another U Disk for copying or backup.

“Feeling better?”

Cheng Minghao held Lin Qingya’s left hand, suddenly asking about her feelings.

“Hmm?”

Lin Qingya was puzzled, then nodded and smiled.

“Much better. You beat the teacher up and made him lose composure twice. You’re amazing! I really admire you! So cool!”

“Hahaha!”

A youthful smile appeared on Cheng Minghao’s face.

He explained shyly,

“Actually, I didn’t want to. I was even scared to hit a teacher. What student dares to hit a teacher? But…”

“But I could dodge, you couldn’t, so in the heat of the moment, I just reacted…”

Cheng Minghao explained.

He could have chosen to take the hit.

But if he did, and the teacher’s blow accidentally hit Lin Qingya, or if he failed to protect her…

It would feel like the sky was falling.

It could all prove he was only defending himself and was forced to protect another.
