Chapter 8: Wearing someone else’s clothes is just as exciting

After saying goodbye to Red, Letia left the Monastery through another exit.

She had to admit, compared to the Holy Church she belonged to, the White Church was pitifully small.

The Monastery itself wasn’t large, housing only about ten people, and no one was assigned to guard or defend it.

Otherwise, she wouldn’t have been able to sneak in so easily.

But it couldn’t stay like this forever.

She needed to figure out a way to get a White Church identity for herself.

It didn’t have to be done in Nightbright Town.

Since the real owners might find out here, she could get a White Church identity elsewhere.

That would be safer and more reliable.

“Speaking of which…”

Letia took off her mask and stretched widely as she returned to the street.

“This whole roleplay thing is really exhausting.”

As a man, even though she was now a woman, playing the part of a considerate first love was a bit difficult.

She wasn’t cut out for this kind of act.

If she wasn’t careful, she might overdo it and end up seeming like a scheming flirt instead.

But she had to admit… playing this role was as thrilling as wearing someone else’s clothes.

Letia looked around at the breakfast shops on the street.

Since this place resembled the medieval era, many of the dishes didn’t suit her taste.

Maybe she’d gotten picky from being spoiled by Red’s palate because looking at the baguettes by the roadside made her lose all appetite.

“Sigh… don’t feel like making breakfast. I’ll just make do.”

Letia could definitely cook.

Red’s cooking skills had even been improved under her guidance.

But she didn’t want to cook.

The reason was simple: if the team found out she could cook, she’d never get out of doing it.

For some people, if you know how to cook, it means you’re supposed to cook.

Letia wasn’t Red.

She wasn’t stupid enough to take on a bunch of extra work without pay.

Buying a baguette, Letia headed toward the Dawnblade’s base.

She hadn’t returned all night, so she didn’t know if those big fools in the team had gotten into any big trouble.

“I’m back!”

The moment she opened the door, Letia was hit by a strong burnt smell.

Looking down, she saw something that looked like bread on the table.

Why did she say “looked like bread”?

Because Bethany had just blown on the top of it, and the thing suddenly flared up like glowing hot coal.

“Uh…”

The straightforward Bethany finally couldn’t help but ask, looking at Liz’s cold expression.

“Captain, can this thing really be eaten?”

“Isn’t it smoking?”

The Loli Mage standing nearby also blew on the bread, and it glowed again.

Letia glanced at the bread on the table and then at the baguette in her hand.

Better just eat this.

The thing on the table looked a bit too hot to eat.

Letia had indeed said that during the team induction.

“Calm down, calm down. He hasn’t been yet. If I see him there next time, I’ll report you.”

Letia shrugged.

“But that’s not the main point. The important thing is that the leader of the Blood Legion seems to want to recruit Red.”

“What?!”

Liz’s voice instantly shot up several octaves as she suddenly stood.

“That Brian guy…”

Seeing Liz gnashing her teeth like that, Letia couldn’t help but silently scoff.

Not appreciating someone before, now losing him, and on top of that, he might belong to someone else.

Was Liz feeling some regret now?

Letia didn’t know.

After all, she lacked mind-reading magic.

“Where is Red now? I want to find him and get some answers!”

Letia spread her hands helplessly.

She really didn’t know where Red had gone.

As for why she brought up Red and Brian’s matter?

Because when others are upset, she actually feels pretty good.
