“Is this an alarm clock?” Feini didn’t notice anything unusual and was still joking.
“After dinner, let’s take a walk together,” Qingshamu suggested. “This academy is huge. There are many places we haven’t been to yet.”
“Okay.” Feini agreed.
Normally, she wouldn’t dare to wander around, but with a bodyguard, she could take a stroll and look around.
Qingshayue had also bought some snacks. They walked along a dark little forest path different from usual.
There was no one around, and the atmosphere was quiet.
Feini munched on some chips, enjoying this pampered life.
As they walked, Qingshamu suddenly stopped and let Feini walk ahead alone for a while.
“What’s wrong?” Feini was slow to react. She looked back at Qingshamu and noticed her expression had turned extremely cold, her eyes sharp like swords.
“[Moonlight Sealing Sword].” Qingshamu’s tone was ruthless as she quietly chanted a spell in a low voice.
“Clang!” In an instant, she summoned a radiant sword that descended from the sky.
Feini still hadn’t realized what was happening when her chest was pierced through by a strike, pinning her to the ground.
The radiant sword formed from magical power didn’t physically harm her body, but she could feel the pain piercing her heart, causing her whole body to convulse.
Cold sweat poured down, and she vomited the dinner she had just eaten.
Qingshamu stepped forward to stand right in front of her, still holding the music box.
“Why…” Feini didn’t dare to scream out loud, biting her teeth to stop herself, knowing that screaming would only bring death faster.
“[Phoenix the Parasitic Demon],” Qingshamu said in a deep voice, revealing her true identity.
“What are you…” More cold sweat dripped down Feini’s forehead upon hearing this.
“This is a [Beast Detector]. When it gets close within a certain distance to a demon, it can gather intelligence and ultimately identify them.” Qingshamu put away the music box and explained casually.
Feini’s eyes widened as she recalled the details of these past days.
So, the reason she always placed that box there while eating with her was to investigate her identity.
So, everything—everything—was a plot and a design?
Gritting her teeth, Feini angrily spat out, “I knew you approached me with ill intentions.”
But Qingshamu called her a parasitic demon, which wasn’t the demon domain’s usual term for her.
Because the Demonic Beasts generally called her the [Slayer Demon Sword].
“Where is the Northern Demon King?” Qingshamu demanded.
At these words, combined with her various bright-light skills that didn’t belong to any Demonic Beast faction, Feini more or less understood this white-haired woman’s identity.
She wasn’t a demon at all, but human—a spy.
“I don’t know,” Feini replied.
“You really won’t shed tears until you see your coffin, huh?” Qingshamu raised her hand and again summoned several translucent radiant swords that mercilessly pierced Feini’s body.
Feini felt a pain like thousands of knives cutting through her, worse than death.
“My Moonlight Sealing Sword won’t cause real damage but will make you feel unbearable pain. It’s a good tool for interrogation,” Qingshamu pressed on. “You’d better answer my questions obediently.”
“I’ve already been expelled from the Northern Demon King Army…” Feini answered trembling. “The Northern Demon King stripped me of my power… and the Faceless Witch picked me up… I don’t know where the Northern Demon King is…”
“The Northern Demon King has secretly infiltrated the God and Demon Academy. You don’t intend to say you don’t know, do you?” Qingshamu pressed.
“I really don’t know…” Feini said.
“You think I’d believe you?” Qingshamu asked.
“Then… kill me… It hurts so much…” Feini lowered her head, too weak to speak further.
The pain made her want to die, but she couldn’t faint. The continuous stabbing pain kept her brain alert—pure hellish torture. She was no longer capable of thinking.
“Is the Northern Demon King’s child in your belly?” Qingshamu questioned again.
“You actually guessed right,” Feini weakly smiled.
Her answer was three parts evasive, seven parts stubbornness, leaving Qingshamu unable to discern the truth for a moment.
“You’re lucky this time.” She heard footsteps coming from afar, someone approaching, so she reluctantly withdrew all the radiant swords.
Feini lay on the ground like a salted fish.
Poor thing, barely breathing and clinging to life, obviously powerless.
Now that everything was out in the open, Qingshamu no longer bothered with any pretense of kindness.
With a cold, superior gaze, she grabbed Feini and took out a specially made collar, locking it around Feini’s neck.
“If you dare reveal a single word of today’s events to anyone else, the [Binding Sword Collar] around your neck will chop off your head. Rest for a bit, then crawl back to your dorm on your own. Don’t arouse suspicion.”
After saying this, Qingshamu turned and walked away.
She had no feelings for Feini—no sympathy. All along, her ‘friendship’ was just a performance to uncover Feini’s identity.
“Cough, cough…”
Feini lay there for a long time before barely regaining some strength. Struggling to stand, she rested against a tree trunk for a while longer.
But what troubled her most was that her belly seemed to be having problems—it was constantly expanding.
After all, this broken body of hers was useless in everything except thick blood.
Although Qingshamu hadn’t really harmed her to avoid exposing her identity, something had been disturbed by the Moonlight Sealing Sword, and now she seemed to be going into labor prematurely.
Feini staggered back to dorm 302. None of her roommates were home.
Everyone was enjoying their exciting after-school lives, but that also meant no one was there to help deliver the baby.
Forget it. They wouldn’t help her anyway.
Feini rushed into her little storage room, shut the door, and lay down on the wooden bed. She struggled to remove her panties and began taking deep breaths.
An uncomfortable sensation gradually spread through her whole body—a subtle stabbing pain that made her feel utterly powerless and exhausted.
Yet her “little sister” showed no signs of dilation or giving birth.
Her thoughts were a bit incoherent—basically, the baby didn’t seem to want to come out from below.
“Gurgle gurgle gurgle~ gurgle gurgle gurgle~ gurgle gurgle gurgle~”
Meanwhile, her belly kept expanding, and she felt something trying to break free from above!
Am I giving birth to an alien?
It seemed a cesarean was the only way. If this went on, her belly would explode.
“No choice…”
Feini gritted her teeth. She had endured the heart-piercing pain just now, so there was no reason she couldn’t handle the pain of a single cut.
She grabbed a pair of scissors nearby and stabbed them fiercely into her belly.
“Puchi~” The scissors pierced the swollen belly.
She wanted to keep cutting, to open a path.
“Ah! Aaaaah! Ugh…”
But halfway through, the pain forced her to clench her teeth so hard and blacked out from the pain.
It was over…
Both the baby and herself were done for…
That was Feini’s last thought before losing consciousness.
However, after she fainted, a plump, pale little hand stretched out from the cut in her belly, grabbed the scissors, and helped her mother finish the unfinished cesarean.
