If the Life Canon were to shine again, and the Elves could reunite once more, would she finally be able to smile from the bottom of her heart?
“Ah, Veronie-san isn’t talking to me again. She must really dislike me.”
Vellandelle feigned disappointment, knowing that Veronie always fell for this act.
However, after waiting ten seconds without any reaction from Veronie, Vellandelle sensed something was off and glanced at her.
Veronie seemed lost in thought, staring blankly with her head lowered.
“Veronie-san?”
“Hmm?”
Veronie snapped out of it and looked at Vellandelle.
“Sorry, I was just thinking about something.”
“It’s fine.”
Vellandelle smiled understandingly.
“Teacher’s here. Looks like class is about to start.”
Veronie didn’t say anything more.
Seeing Teacher Vivilian’s arrival was a perfect excuse to end their conversation.
“Very well, everyone is here, and the time is just right. Shall we begin the lesson?”
“Yes, Teacher, I’m ready!”
A Noble Youth sitting in the front row responded immediately.
Vivilian smiled, stood at the podium, and opened her notebook.
“It’s been three days. Let’s see if any of you have forgotten my Magic lessons from the previous days.”
Three days had passed—a two-day holiday, plus a day lost to the earlier competition.
But it was only three days.
Of course, Vellandelle hadn’t forgotten Vivilian’s teachings.
She gazed at the Teacher, whose tea-length French retro dress was as elegant as ever, radiating gentleness from head to toe.
Teacher Vivilian stood gracefully at the podium, the lace edges of her dress swaying softly with her movements.
She opened the lesson plan and began explaining today’s Magic theory in a gentle voice.
“Today, we will delve into the Resonance Principle of Elemental Magic…”
Her voice was as warm as a spring breeze, but Vellandelle’s attention wasn’t on the textbook.
Seizing the moment when the Teacher turned to draw a magic array on the blackboard, Vellandelle quietly condensed a small Energy Crystal.
She deliberately let the crystal flicker with a halo at her fingertip, then ‘accidentally’ rolled it onto Veronie’s textbook.
“Oops, sorry.”
Vellandelle lowered her voice, leaning close to Veronie’s ear.
A warm breath brushed faintly over the sensitive tip of the Elf’s ear.
Veronie’s body stiffened noticeably, but she didn’t immediately push away the crystal.
Instead, her slender fingers gently covered it, feeling the pure energy flowing within.
“Focus during class.”
Veronie whispered, but didn’t return the crystal right away.
Elves are sensitive to energy; Vellandelle didn’t need to guess to know that this pure energy, originating from her own Royal Succubus bloodline, would undoubtedly attract Veronie’s attention.
Vellandelle edged closer, her hair almost brushing Veronie’s arm.
“But I think practice is more important than theory.”
She intentionally made her voice quiver with aggrieved innocence.
“Isn’t Veronie-san the one who loves my crystals the most?”
Veronie pressed her lips together, her emerald eyes flashing.
At last, she turned her head to meet Vellandelle’s smiling gaze.
“If you keep this up, I’ll tell Teacher you’re harassing me.”
With that, Veronie glared at Vellandelle.
At that moment, Teacher Vivilian happened to turn around.
Her eyes lingered on the two of them for a brief second, a knowing smile playing at her lips.
“The key to Elemental Resonance lies in the synchronization and harmony of energy.”
She said meaningfully, her gaze sweeping across the class.
“Just like two different sources of Magic—if the right frequency can be found, unexpected effects may arise.”
Veronie already understood all this and stopped listening to Vivilian’s explanation.
Instead, she began contemplating whether she should punish Vellandelle a little—she felt Vellandelle had been teasing her too much lately.
As Veronie drifted off in thought, Vellandelle, as if possessed by a mischievous spirit, lightly tapped Veronie’s knee under the table.
The Elf girl jolted, her feather pen drawing a crooked line across her notebook.
It seemed both Vivilian and Veronie’s gazes simultaneously sharpened.
“Like this, Teacher?”
Vellandelle raised her head, purposefully putting on a look of innocent curiosity.
Vivilian chuckled softly.
“A very good example, Vellandelle-san. However…”
Her eyes fell on Veronie’s face, cold but tinged with a faint blush.
Seeing this scene, Vivilian felt even more excited than Vellandelle.
She hadn’t expected Vellandelle to be so bold, daring to flirt with Veronie even during class.
“Even flirting requires the proper frequency, or it may backfire.”
Her voice was soft, but just loud enough for the two to hear.
Veronie shot Vellandelle another fierce glare.
When class moved into the practical session, Vellandelle was coincidentally paired with Veronie.
As they practiced the spell for Elemental Resonance, her Magic frequency always fell just short of synchronizing with Veronie’s, forcing Veronie to repeatedly adjust her casting.
“Your energy output is unstable.”
Veronie finally couldn’t hold back, reaching out to grip Vellandelle’s wrist and guide the flow of her Magic.
“Like this—keep it steady.”
Vellandelle felt the cool touch of Veronie’s fingertips and couldn’t help but sigh.
“Veronie-san’s hands are so cold.”
Veronie jerked her hand back as if burned, but Vellandelle had already grasped her fingers in return.
“Let go.”
Veronie warned in a low voice, though she didn’t truly try to break free.
“I’m helping you practice energy conduction.”
Vellandelle said righteously, her fingertip lightly tracing Veronie’s palm, sensing the Elf’s slight tremble.
At that moment, their Magic energy suddenly reached perfect synchronization.
A gentle light bloomed between their joined hands, forming a small elemental vortex.
Teacher Vivilian happened to walk by their table at that exact moment, raising her brows in surprise.
“An excellent resonance effect—looks like you’ve found a harmonious method.”
Even in her heart, Vivilian couldn’t help but give a thumbs up.
As expected from her favorite pair.
Veronie swiftly withdrew her hand, her blush spreading all the way to her neck.
Faced with Veronie’s reaction, Vellandelle was first stunned, then couldn’t help but burst out laughing.
To actually see Veronie blush!
How incredible—while in theory Veronie should be able to blush normally, even Seleste had never managed to make it happen.
Didn’t this mean she was more capable than Seleste?
When the dismissal bell rang, Veronie almost immediately packed her things and made to leave.
Vellandelle watched this, lips curling up in amusement.
“Vellandelle-san, come to my office after class!”
Vivilian’s cool voice called from behind.
Vellandelle instinctively tensed, then relaxed upon realizing it was the Teacher.
But why was she being called to the office?
The last time was when she got free Magic.
So this time…?
