Out in the Kit City outskirts cemetery, Liamy reported to the President about her failed assassination attempt caused by an unexpected incident.
She had expected to be severely punished, but the President was silent for a moment before saying, โโฆI understand. Itโs just one failure. Donโt be discouraged; we still have chances. As for punishmentโฆ letโs forget about it for now. You donโt have time for punishments at the moment, do you?โ
โThank you for your understanding, President!โ Liamy said sincerely. She hadnโt expected the President to be so merciful. Had something good happened to the President recently that put her in a good mood?
Before Liamy could figure it out, Ivy continued, โBy the way, regarding the clues to revert you back, I searched through all the materials in the organization and even asked assassins stationed in other regions. Thereโs no relevant information anywhere. It seems the Society canโt be of much help on this matter.โ
Ivyโs tone was calm, and her face was shadowed beneath her hood, making it impossible to read her expression.
Though a little disappointed, Liamy quickly regained her composure.
โPresident, I have found some clues about how to revert me back.โ
โOh? What is it?โ Liamyโs words piqued Ivyโs interest.
โItโs a labyrinth called โYiquโ. The magic circle that turned me into what I am now was created there, and it was Alec who found me there. I have already located โYiquโs whereabouts. I just need someone to explore it later. No need to trouble you, President.โ
โโYiquโโฆโ Upon hearing the name, Ivy lowered her head in thought. Soon after, she looked up and issued Liamy her next mission.
โSince youโre going to that labyrinth anyway, bring me the โYiquโ seeds inside. This will be your next task. If you succeed, not only will your punishment for the failed assassination be waived, but I will also prepare a special reward for you.โ
Liamy was momentarily stunned. โYiquโ seeds? What are those? Is โYiquโ some kind of plant? How does the President know about them? Didnโt she say there was no information?
Although her mind was a little chaotic, it did not stop Liamy from replying to the Presidentโs orders.
โYes, President. I will complete the mission!โ
Seeing this, Ivy said no more and transformed into a shadow, dissipating on the spot. Only Liamy remained, filled with confusion.
Back at the mansion, Liamy didnโt see Colin or Heffney, nor Lola or the Ryan and Lant she had brought back. It seemed they had all gone to sleep.
Seeing this, Liamy quietly returned to her room, careful not to wake anyone.
Once inside, she collapsed onto the bed. Lying on the soft mattress, she stared blankly at the ceiling.
So much had happened today. From falling into a trap while searching Alecโs residence for cluesโwhere Colin saw her completely vulnerableโ
To going for a walk alone upon return, unexpectedly finding Ryan and Lant, and obtaining important tools and information from them.
Then Heffney recalling the exact location of โYiquโ, and Colin using his connections to stop her from getting further involved.
Finally, the President, who knew some information but refused to say and gave her a strange mission instead. Liamy had no idea what the President was thinking or planning.
This string of events left Liamy mentally and physically exhausted. Though many issues remained unresolved, she decided to get a good nightโs sleep first.
Staring at the ceiling, her eyelids grew heavy. Just as she was about to drift off, she suddenly remembered the most important thing that had happened today!
She had actually invited Colin to go for a walk with her! Thinking carefully, wasnโt that a date?!
She had directly invited Colin on a date, even though they werenโt that kind of relationship! And there was no chance of becoming that kind of relationship!
What on earth was she thinking??? How could she say such a thing!
The moment Liamy recalled the impulsive invitation, a sharp headache hit her, and a wave of embarrassment flushed her cheeks bright red.
Why was she feeling embarrassed now?! What was wrong with herโฆ
Liamy was nearly losing her mind. As a man, she would never have had these thoughts before. But now, as a woman, these troubling feelings had emerged. Could it be that she had truly become a woman in mind as well?
No, impossible! She hadnโt fallen into femininity! She was just overthinking things, thatโs all! It was only an ordinary walkโhow could it have anything to do with a date?
Maybe Colin thought the same wayโthat it was just a normal walk! They had done similar things before!
Calming down a little, Liamy realized another problem: how did Colin see it? Did he really think it was just a walk? Orโฆ
Liamy stopped herself from going further. She couldnโt bear to imagine the consequences if Colin really thought that way. In the end, she avoided those thoughts and forced herself to fall asleep.
In her dreams, Liamy saw herself dressed beautifully, walking on a date with Colin, who looked inexplicably handsome.
She occasionally showed shy expressions, while Colin wore a reassuring smile. The scene was beautiful, like a loving couple.
Her consciousness blurred between being in the moment and viewing from an invisible third-person perspective.
This strange vision left her flustered, but she followed the subconscious flow, continuing the date with Colin.
They laughed and chatted as they strolled, sometimes eating delicious food, sometimes admiring the scenery. Sometimes moving so fast they passed through cities in a blink, other times moving so slowly that climbing a short staircase took forever.
No matter the pace or place, as long as she was with Colin, Liamy felt infinite peace and warmth. It was as if she could accomplish anything.
Finally, they arrived at the dateโs destination. Liamy looked up, her smile instantly frozen.
It was an inn named โMidnightโs Happy Hourโโclearly a place meant for that kind of thing.
Liamy stiffly glanced at Colin, trying to ask if theyโd taken a wrong turn. But she only saw Colinโs strange smile before he pulled her inside without a word.
Before she could react, Colin had thrown her onto the bed. Seeing everything around her, Liamy knew what was coming next.
Sure enough, Colin quickly stripped off his clothes. At the sight of the Holy Sword beneath him, Liamy suddenly woke from her dream.
Looking around at the unchanged room, her terrified expression slowly flushed with crimson. Then, she buried her face back into the covers, unsure if she wanted to catch some more sleep or hide her blushing cheeks.
