“Alright! Time waits for no one, let’s head to the Training Field now!”
The next afternoon, Luna set out alone for the Training Field, her heart brimming with anticipation.
Last night, she had already received Eliza’s approval, and decided to begin her training that afternoon.
So, she joyfully made her way toward the Training Field.
She hadn’t told anyone about this plan—not even her sister Xiao Xi.
She intended to surprise her sister.
She really wanted to see Xiao Xi’s shocked expression when she found out she had advanced to S-Rank.
As for Xiao Xi, after a full day of rest, she had completely recovered.
She’d left a bit earlier than Luna, apparently to find Dai Lina.
Probably to discuss something about training…
That’s what Luna thought, since Xiao Xi had mentioned wanting to train with Dai Lina.
Luna soon arrived at the Management Office located in the Training Field. After selecting a Training Room, she headed into the designated Training Classroom.
“Eliza, we’re here.”
Standing in the center of the Training Room, Luna called out softly.
Eliza had been inside her body the whole way.
Back in the Dormitory, Eliza had said she needed to prepare, then slipped into Luna’s body and hadn’t reappeared since.
“I’m here, I’m here.”
Suddenly, Eliza’s voice echoed in the air, and a moment later, her figure seemed to step out of the void itself, appearing before Luna.
She looked no different than usual, except now she was dressed in a black gothic dress, which added a mysterious and elegant aura to her presence.
This outfit was completely unlike her usual loose T-shirts, whose hem hung casually to her thighs, paired with simple bottoms.
But today, she seemed like an entirely different person—an elegant lady straight out of a fairy tale.
“Eliza… What’s with this…?”
Luna’s eyes widened, curiosity filling her face as she studied Eliza.
She had never seen Eliza dressed so formally before.
The sudden change left her both surprised and puzzled.
Seeing Luna’s reaction, Eliza’s lips curled into a smug smile.
“Well? Does it look good?”
Her voice carried a hint of anticipation, as if she cared deeply about Luna’s opinion.
“It… It looks good…”
Luna praised sincerely, but then her expression turned confused.
“But… Aren’t we training? Why are you dressed like that…?”
Looking at Eliza’s elaborate gothic dress, she truly couldn’t imagine how such an outfit would be suitable for training.
Luna couldn’t help but grumble inwardly—shouldn’t you wear something easier to move in for training?
Eliza seemed to sense Luna’s confusion, and her expression suddenly grew serious.
“What’s wrong? Did someone say you had to dress a certain way? Or…”
She paused deliberately, her tone laced with challenge.
“Or do you think I’m not taking this training seriously?”
Eliza’s words left Luna speechless for a moment.
She really hadn’t said anything about training attire.
It was just that seeing Eliza dressed like this was unexpected.
She quickly tried to explain:
“No, Eliza, I didn’t mean that. I just…”
But Eliza didn’t let her finish. She cut her off with a laugh.
“Alright, alright, let’s not get stuck on these details. Let’s get ready to start training.”
Then Eliza stood facing Luna, her gaze filled with anticipation.
She declared her challenge:
“As long as you can cause even a single tear in my clothes, you win. How about it?”
Luna was taken aback by the challenge, doubting her ears.
She double-checked:
“Really? Just damaging your clothes counts as a win?”
Eliza nodded, her tone relaxed.
“That’s right. No matter how you do it, if my clothes are damaged, you win.”
Luna pondered silently.
The challenge sounded simple enough.
She knew she wasn’t especially powerful, but not weak either.
Besides, the challenge was only to damage Eliza’s clothes, not defeat her outright.
“Alright! It’s settled!”
Luna accepted the challenge and took a battle stance.
“Don’t get cocky, brat.”
Eliza then slowly assumed her own stance—her posture graceful and unhurried, as if inviting Luna to a waltz, a movement full of artistry rather than a contest.
“Go ahead, you first.”
Eliza smiled, calm and composed, waiting for Luna’s move.
“Then here I go.”
Luna responded, darting forward as her Dagger gleamed with cold light, striking swiftly toward Eliza’s clothing.
Yet, the instant the Dagger was about to cut the fabric, Eliza moved with the agility of a swallow, elegantly twisting aside to dodge Luna’s attack with ease.
“Your reaction’s a bit slow. Try again.”
Eliza’s voice carried a teasing note, but mostly encouragement.
Her eyes shone with anticipation, as if hoping Luna would perform even better.
Luna didn’t get discouraged.
She took a deep breath and attacked again with the Dagger.
“Dodged.”
“Again, again.”
“Wait for the right moment before you strike.”
But no matter how hard she tried, every attack was evaded by Eliza’s graceful and nimble steps.
Eliza’s footwork was light and precise—each time she moved just enough to avoid Luna’s Dagger, as if she already knew every move Luna would make.
Several rounds passed, and Luna still hadn’t managed to touch Eliza.
Every time, her Dagger was dodged at the last second.
Luna grew anxious, focusing harder on Eliza’s movements, hoping to find an opening.
But Eliza seemed flawless.
Every move was smooth and natural, leaving no chance for attack.
Luna couldn’t help but admire Eliza’s skills, and also became more determined to improve her own strength.
“No, no, your movements are as slow as a 60-year-old grandpa, brat.”
After dodging another attack, Eliza taunted lightly.
Her words stung like a needle, causing a trace of annoyance to rise in Luna’s heart.
“Tch…”
Luna snorted, a stubborn glint in her eyes.
“Stop thinking only about attacking with a Dagger. Don’t you have a Bow too? Try using arrows against me.”
As Eliza finished, Luna immediately retreated, quickly pulling her Bow from her Space Ring.
“Good girl…”
Seeing this, Eliza’s lips curled in satisfaction.
Luna took a deep breath, gathered her Magic, and fired a Magic Arrow gleaming with light.
But Eliza, like a butterfly, dodged the arrow with a flash of movement.
Luna didn’t lose heart.
She quickly adjusted her stance and fired several more arrows in quick succession.
Yet each arrow was evaded by Eliza’s dance-like steps.
“I thought you were great at shooting games. How come your aim’s off now?”
Eliza continued taunting as she dodged, her tone full of provocation and teasing, clearly trying to fire up Luna’s fighting spirit.
Luna’s anger burned hotter.
She clenched her teeth and fixed her gaze on Eliza.
“Don’t underestimate me!”
She roared, gathering her Magic for a deadlier strike.
[Explosive Arrow!]
With a low chant, Luna condensed all her Magic and unleashed an explosive Magic Arrow.
The arrow drew a brilliant arc through the air, then struck the ground at Eliza’s feet, erupting in blinding light and thunderous sound.
Smoke billowed, temporarily obscuring Eliza’s figure.
“Kuku, nice power, but your aim’s still lacking.”
As the smoke faded, Eliza emerged once more, standing calmly as if the explosion had been nothing.
A faint smile lingered on her lips, her eyes acknowledging Luna’s potential, but tinged with regret.
“Damn it…”
Luna bit her lip, glaring at Eliza, her fury fanned by the mockery.
But this was exactly what Eliza expected—a foe blinded by rage.
“Don’t let anger take over your mind.”
Eliza’s voice was soft yet firm, like a clear spring washing away Luna’s rage.
Luna snapped out of it, as if waking from a dream.
“!?”
She looked at Eliza in shock, realization dawning in her eyes.
She understood—she’d lost her composure in anger, a fatal mistake in battle!
“Don’t get distracted during combat. Don’t let emotions like fear or anger show on your face, or your opponent will spot your weakness.”
Eliza’s words rang in Luna’s ears like a warning bell.
Luna took a deep breath, working to calm herself.
She looked at Eliza.
It seemed this was her first lesson.
“Mm…”
“So, what will you do next, brat?”
Eliza continued, watching to see Luna’s next move.
“Let me see what other tactics you have, brat.”
Luna didn’t move immediately, instead pausing to think calmly.
The situation was clear—she was on the offensive, meaning Eliza was always waiting for her to make a move.
What should I do…
Seeing Luna hesitate, Eliza waited with curiosity.
Luna drew a deep breath, pulled the Bowstring taut again, and murmured:
[Explosive Arrow]!
The arrow shimmered with Magic light as it flew toward Eliza’s feet once more.
The explosion sounded and smoke once again enveloped Eliza.
Using the smoke as cover, Luna dashed in toward Eliza.
But as she reached Eliza, she saw the same confident smile on Eliza’s face.
Luna froze.
She suddenly remembered the fate of those three Blood Clan who had rushed at Eliza before.
“Did you forget what happened to those three Blood Clan who charged at me?”
Realizing her mistake, Luna saw Eliza easily dodge her attack.
To teach her a lesson, Eliza kicked her aside, sending Luna crashing to the floor.
Pain shot through Luna’s waist.
She struggled to her feet, face pale.
Clearly, the blow was far from gentle.
“Ugh…”
Luna clutched her waist, eyes glistening with pain.
If Eliza hadn’t held back, she might not have been able to stand at all.
“That was less than a tenth of my full power, but I’ll heal you just in case.”
Eliza walked over, her tone playful but her eyes gentle.
She produced a Potion emitting a green glow and handed it to Luna.
Luna took the Potion, hesitated for a moment, then saw the trust in Eliza’s eyes and decided to believe her.
She pulled out the cork and drank the liquid in one gulp.
As the Potion went down, a warm power spread through Luna’s body.
To her surprise, the pain in her waist faded rapidly.
The green glow shimmered over her, as if new vitality was flowing into her.
“This is…”
Luna looked at Eliza in surprise, full of confusion.
“Just a normal Healing Potion. I brought it specifically for this training.”
Eliza shrugged, her voice light.
Watching Luna regain her strength, she felt a hint of relief.
“If you’re fine, let’s keep going.”
Once she saw Luna was alright, Eliza signaled her to continue.
“Mm…”
