Chapter 57: Don’t want to be called sister-in-law?

Zhang Wenshan couldn’t figure it out.

“How should I address you? Should I call you sister-in-law…”

Xia Yu immediately said her name, shutting Zhang Wenshan up just in time.

She nearly heard him say “sister-in-law,” which startled her.

“If I had known you two knew each other earlier, I would have had Mo Yidong recharge a Card at your place to support your business.”

Xia Yu smiled awkwardly, politely refusing Zhang Wenshan’s kind offer.

“No need. I just work part-time there, only one or two days a week.”

“Where are you two headed?”

“I’ll think about it and tell you later.”

After leaving the living room, the hallway toward the restroom was mostly empty, and Xia Yu finally exhaled.

“Don’t want to be called sister-in-law?”

“You’re not my husband, and besides, I don’t have one…”

Xia Yu shot Mo Yidong a glare but noticed how cheerful he looked.

Unexpectedly, he actually listened.

She guessed it was because they were a couple that he asked such a question.

Peeking at Mo Yidong’s serious expression, it seemed he was setting aside some pretense.

What if he was actually asking about Xia Yu herself?

“Then why make me think about it?”

He suddenly felt he shouldn’t have asked such questions.

He had underestimated Xia Yu’s emotional intelligence.

“Let’s go. I’ll take you to the restroom.”

She wanted to say she was allergic to garlic but felt awkward asking a whole group to pick garlic out just for her.

“I don’t have any…”

“She’s allergic to garlic. Don’t put garlic in her dishes.”

Before Xia Yu could finish, Mo Yidong took the initiative to tell Elder Dong.

“No problem. I’ll instruct the kitchen to prepare some garlic-free dishes.”

After Elder Dong left, Xia Yu looked at Mo Yidong with a troubled expression.

“That might be a bit much…”

“I said, the family treats you as well as they treat me. You shouldn’t be neglected.”
