Vellandelle fell silent, staring at the letter in her hand.

“Eniya wrote this to you?”

“Yeah.”

She had some mixed feelings about Eniya.

On the surface, the Saintess seemed so prim and gentle, yet she had kissed her while she was asleep.

Ever since their meeting at the amusement park, Vellandelle had sensed something was off about herself. Looking back, she realized her first kiss had vanished without her noticing.

“Nothing, sister. Are you ready for tomorrow’s performance?”

Vellandelle said this while recalling her encounter with Karlenasha in the Music Room earlier.

She had been completely outshone by that girl the entire time, which was truly embarrassing.

The two chatted like this until after dinner.

Rosasys followed her sister back to the Dormitory.

“Hey, little sister, I told you there’s no need to follow me back to the Dormitory. Just go back to your Apartment and get some rest.”

“No, sister, it’s super boring to go back alone!”

“Ah, then I’ll keep you company?”

“Okay.”

The night deepened, and moonlight poured through the window like water, bathing the room in silver light.

Rosasys sat at the edge of Vellandelle’s bed, gently swinging her legs, showing no intention of leaving.

Since Kelosha and Rosasys had played together, and then after chatting for a while with Vellandelle, Rosasys seemed determined not to mention going back at all tonight.

“Little sister, you really should go back.”

Vellandelle helplessly adjusted the collar of her nightgown, a faint hint of spring’s blush visible.

“I have to get up early tomorrow to prepare for the Competition.”

Rosasys pouted and tugged on Vellandelle’s sleeve.

“Sister, just let me stay tonight. I’m scared to go back to the Apartment alone…”

“When did you become so timid?”

Vellandelle raised an eyebrow, looking at her sister’s deliberately wide eyes.

She knew she was pretending to be pitiful, but she couldn’t help softening.

“It’s true!”

Rosasys clung to Vellandelle’s arm and pressed her face against it.

“Besides, you have the Competition tomorrow. If I go back now, I’ll be too worried to sleep well. If I don’t sleep well, how will I have the energy to cheer for you?”

Vellandelle was amused by her sister’s illogical reasoning, smiling wryly.

She looked down into Rosasys’s pink eyes and finally gave in.

“All right, all right. Just for tonight.”

Vellandelle gently poked her sister’s forehead.

Rosasys immediately beamed, eager to crawl under the covers.

“You’re the best, sister!”

Vellandelle shook her head and lay down as well.

The bed wasn’t large, and the two girls squeezed close, nearly able to feel each other’s warmth and breath.

“Sis.”

Rosasys whispered softly in the dark.

“Are you nervous about tomorrow’s Competition?”

Vellandelle paused for a moment before honestly replying, “A little. Especially knowing that Senior Karlenasha will be competing too.”

Rosasys turned over to face Vellandelle, her warm breath brushing her cheek.

“Your piano playing is so good, you’ll definitely be fine! When I listened today, I almost cried.”

“You’re exaggerating.”

Vellandelle chuckled lightly, but her heart warmed at her sister’s praise.

“It’s true!”

Rosasys insisted.

“All right, all right. Since you say so, I’m touched too.”

The two sisters chatted softly, their voices meandering as moonlight slowly shifted across the window, casting overlapping shadows on the wall.

The moonlight flowed quietly, draping everything in the room with a hazy silver veil.

Their low whispers gradually faded, leaving only the sound of steady breathing.

Rosasys lay on her side, facing Vellandelle with eyes wide open in the darkness.

She gazed at her sister’s sleeping face so near—the long hair spread across the pillow, a look of enchanting beauty.

An unprecedented impulse surged within her heart.

Carefully, she placed the hand that had been resting beside her onto Vellandelle’s waist.

Vellandelle seemed fast asleep and didn’t react.

Rosasys’s courage grew.

Holding her breath, she slowly moved her fingertips along the thin nightgown, feeling the warmth and soft curves of her sister’s body.

Her heart raced wildly, afraid to wake her, yet greedy for this moment of closeness.

Seeing Vellandelle’s steady breathing, Rosasys quietly shifted closer, pressing herself tightly against her sister, her forehead nearly touching Vellandelle’s chin.

She took a deep breath, the faint cool scent of her sister filling her nostrils.

“Sis…”

She whispered softly, barely audible.

Just then, Vellandelle moved slightly, seemingly without awareness, her arm naturally wrapping around Rosasys’s shoulder.

This unexpected response made Rosasys stiffen, then swell with overwhelming joy.

She didn’t dare move anymore, curling obediently into her sister’s embrace, feeling the safety of her hold.

But desire was hard to resist.

After a while, Rosasys raised her head again, using the moonlight to stare at Vellandelle’s slightly parted lips.

A strong longing urged her to tilt her face up bit by bit, inching closer.

Just as her lips were about to brush her sister’s cheek, Vellandelle suddenly murmured something indistinctly, her eyelashes fluttering gently.

Like a startled fawn, Rosasys pulled back sharply and tightly closed her eyes, pretending to be asleep. Her heart pounded loudly in her chest.

She felt Vellandelle’s breathing steady again, seemingly still asleep.

After a long while, Rosasys dared to quietly open one eye and saw her sister still peacefully resting.

She sighed in relief, but also felt a faint sadness.

In the end, she simply nestled closer into Vellandelle’s arms, pressing her flushed cheek against her sister’s shoulder, whispering like a vow, “Sister… I will always be by your side.”
