Meanwhile, in another Boss Room guarded by Chlorel.
“Creak.”
The heavy, sturdy wooden door was pushed open, and several soldiers holding torches entered, panting as they hurried in and each found a place to sit and rest.
The torchlight couldn’t reach far into the darkness, but the exhausted soldiers didn’t notice at all.
After a while, a man dressed in elegant clothing walked in, head held high.
Everything went exactly as Su Yao had planned: most of the soldiers were separated or trapped by the mechanisms and traps, leaving only a few lucky ones to reach this place.
“My dear Royal Princess, your loyal servant has come to greet you.”
If he hadn’t spoken, Chlorel almost would have forgotten this idiot noble even existed.
Mistaking Su Yao for her was one thing, but personally coming to the dungeon to look for someone?
To be honest, if she hadn’t revealed her embarrassing past to Su Yao that day, she wouldn’t even have realized they might have met once during childhood.
“You’ve got the wrong person. There’s no Royal Princess here.”
A voice echoed from the darkness of the room. The man froze for a moment and looked around, but he could see nothing.
“How could that be? Ever since you arrived in Moravia, I’ve been watching your movements closely. When I learned you were trapped in the Black Dragon Cave, I was beside myself with worry. Thankfully, my prayers were answered by the gods, and you survived.”
From his words alone, he did sound like a devoted follower.
Too bad this hypocrite had previously sent men to attack Su Yao. Chlorel refused to believe a word he said.
“What are you talking about? I don’t understand.”
Chlorel replied, but the man kept looking around, still unable to see the golden figure he longed for.
“Princess, don’t play dumb. There is no Black Dragon in this dungeon. You’ve turned this place into your hiding spot while constantly seeking opportunities to travel to Moravia and gather intelligence, haven’t you?”
Chlorel was a little surprised.
Based on the information he had gathered, his deductions were already very close to the truth. It seemed Hilvi had underestimated her brother.
Wasn’t this quite clever?
“It seems you’ve misunderstood. I have been to Moravia, but only to do business selling some local specialties. That doesn’t prove anything.”
“Your appearances in Moravia and your disappearances in the dungeon are too coincidental. Besides, my subordinates reported that you bought three slaves at the Slave Market, one of whom was your childhood friend and Guard Captain, Miss Sofia, correct?”
She didn’t expect him to know so much!
Actually, she could have brushed off these facts as coincidences, but it was clear he wouldn’t buy it.
Chlorel was too lazy to pretend anymore. She tightened her grip on the dagger, searching for the right moment to strike.
Although she didn’t know how many others were aware of this outside, this man had to be dealt with first.
“But what surprises me the most is your current appearance. Who would have thought you’ve turned into a little girl!”
“Huh?”
What was this guy talking about? What did he mean by her “turning into a little girl”?
Wait, was this the reason he sent men to attack Su Yao?
The Intelligence Dealer never told them that Su Yao was mistaken for a princess.
“You’re playing dumb again. I couldn’t be sure in front of Hilvi’s door, but after investigating your movements, I understand now — ‘Su Yao’ is the false identity you use after rejuvenation!”
Chlorel was stunned. What nonsense was he spouting? Who in their right mind would think that?
And he said that in front of Hilvi’s door—that was the moment this idiotic noble confused Su Yao for himself? So that’s what he was thinking?
Could it be that all those deductions he made…
were just lucky guesses?
“What nonsense are you talking about? How could there be magic for rejuvenation in this world?”
“Princess, perhaps you don’t remember, but when I was young I had the honor to see you at eight years old — your shining golden hair, gentle light green eyes, a bit of baby fat, dressed in a white dress at a banquet. You were an angel.”
Chlorel was a bit flustered by his sudden flowery speech, but upon regaining her composure, she immediately spotted a flaw in his words.
“You said it yourself: eye color, physical characteristics, and baby fat — aren’t those differences? And if you look closely, the facial features don’t match either…”
After all, no one in this world knew Su Yao’s body better than she did. With so many differences, it shouldn’t have been a case of mistaken identity. Not to mention some far-fetched idea about rejuvenation.
“Eye color can be changed with magic, and it’s not impossible for a rejuvenated person to retain some characteristics. Besides, after your difficult journey to Moravia, it’s only natural you would lose weight.”
Before she could finish listing her points, the man interrupted her.
Silly. The first time she met Su Yao, she had mistaken him for her own sister. How could she not think the other party might be using a rejuvenated appearance?
Wow! She had never met someone so extraordinarily foolish before. Hilvi’s judgment was right; she should not have doubted him.
“All of that is just your speculation. Su Yao is no princess.”
“You’re not the Royal Princess. Then who are you?”
Unluckily for him, she was the real Royal Princess. It was just that this stupid noble refused to believe it.
“No matter who you are, don’t try to deceive me! I fell in love with the Royal Princess at first sight. She is the Princess, no, she can only be the Princess! Tell her to come out and meet me!”
The man became hysterical and his tone turned crude, as if he were a different person.
Chlorel more or less understood now: this guy was not only stupid but also malicious—a lolicon pervert. The “Royal Princess” was just the adjective for the toy he wanted.
Like when selecting a music box, wanting one that was “big and beautiful.”
“Sorry, she won’t meet you.”
Chlorel had heard long ago of the strange and twisted desires and habits of this country’s nobles. Before, she had only felt disdain and contempt, but this was perhaps the first time she had felt such anger.
He had chosen the wrong person to vent his frustrations on.
No more words were necessary. Chlorel activated the Ring left to her by her mother. Coupled with the “darkness” effect inherent to this Boss Room, she raised her dagger and crept toward him.
The perverted noble still didn’t know what was about to happen, ranting hysterically at the door.
“Don’t joke! In this territory, only I am willing to protect her!”
“I will put a collar on her, hide her in a basement only I know about, and love her forever!”
“Royal Princess! I know you are in this room! Please come out and come with me. If you do now, I will grant you any reward you desire!”
“You all, stop sitting there like fools! The Princess is in this room—search her out!”
……
The soldiers unwillingly stood up and spread out, torches held high, wandering through the room.
“Norton Ashley, marked as an Intelligence Dealer, but I am Chlorel Greenville.”
The man spun around at the voice and finally saw those light green eyes he had longed for. But the hair of the person before him was not the shining golden color he had imagined.
“You’re not—”
He instinctively tried to deny it, but no sound came from his throat.
Thud.
The sound of a heavy object hitting the ground attracted the searching soldiers.
The foolish, perverted noble lay collapsed in a pool of blood.
They didn’t know what had happened, but no one dared to stay in the room any longer…
