“Ugh ah!”
Jiang Lingwei screamed in agony, clutching her stomach as she staggered back a few steps and leaned against the crumbling ruins.
“Heh~ heh~”
The man who had just been lying stiff in a pool of blood suddenly rolled over and stood up, letting out two strange laughs that revealed his zombie-like greenish face.
Not only that, but a large mole grew at the corner of his mouth, complementing his ugly face that looked like old cured meat with a crooked mouth and slanted eyes. The whole sight was both disgusting and terrifying.
“U hehe… u hehehe…”
His whole body trembled, arms crossed over his chest as if holding back laughter, shaking uncontrollably.
“Success, success!”
White foam and saliva dribbled from his mouth, and as his mood surged, fresh red liquid oozed from his body surface.
From a normal person’s perspective, it was hard to believe that thick, bright red, and strange liquid was human blood.
A black dark light shot out from his wide-open mouth, rapidly flying toward the huge black shadow still advancing in the distance.
“Ha ha ha… gah…”
After doing all this, the man bent his elbow and forcibly pulled a silver blade out from the flesh of his own arm, holding it in his blood-soaked hand and swinging it up and down.
As he swung, he “accidentally” chopped off his own arm, so he simply grabbed his severed left arm with his right hand, brandishing the blade together with the severed limb in a bizarre dance.
Every movement surpassed the limits of human capability, accompanied by sounds of bones and joints moving, as well as muffled noises of flesh colliding. The man seemed to be performing some kind of ritual, his dancing posture exuding utter eeriness.
The heavy rain continued to wash everything in this world. Not far from the man, a pink-haired magical girl lowered her head, weakly leaning against the wall, silent and powerless.
“Heh heh, magical girl, heh heh.”
It seemed like he was done playing and tired of dancing. Stretching out his right arm, he smoothly reattached his left arm to the severed stump, straightening his curved back.
In this state, he became tall and thin, looking at least over two meters tall, and seemed capable of stretching even further.
The blade was still embedded in his hand, but the man felt no pain at all as he slowly walked toward the girl who had already been knocked down by his sneak attack.
He was not surprised, because the blade was covered with his venomous blood. Once it pierced in, the dark magical poison would completely disrupt the victim’s functions. Even a magical girl would be as helpless as she was now—no one could stop him! His ability was just that powerful!
As he approached, the girl finally reacted.
“Um…”
Looking at the approaching man, the magical girl slightly raised her head and weakly said in her pure, youthful voice:
“Mister Demon… please… I beg you…”
Hearing the girl’s plea, the man’s mouth literally stretched all the way back to the back of his head. The dead flesh-like muscles on his face were squeezed by his huge mouth, forcing half of his face to scrunch into a mass, with only his crimson eyes glaring at the girl through the gaps in the flesh.
Delightful, so delightful. Such a beautiful girl was begging him so humbly.
Just as he was about to let out another insane laugh, the girl’s voice cut through the rain.
“You’re really ugly… maybe you should stop wearing human skin… it’s just too ugly…”
“Honestly, I can’t insult people… it’s such a pity, because your face alone is serious damage to me just by being near…”
“Clatter clatter clatter—”
“Gah…”
The heavy rain kept falling. The girl spoke intermittently, but the man’s laughter suddenly stopped.
His already grotesque face froze, like a mask locked in place.
Raindrops slid down his sparse hair onto that ugly face, making the monster shaped like a man even more sinister and terrifying.
“Die!”
Without warning, the man suddenly jumped, raising the blade stuck in his flesh high above and chopped down directly onto the weak magical girl!
“Clang!”
The blade plunged into the damaged load-bearing wall’s still-solid concrete, slicing through several steel bars with a dull metallic sound.
(Missed?!)
Staring at the broken wall before him, he barely understood what had just happened. In that moment, the magical girl who should have been cleaved in two by his blade had vanished?!
“Disgusting.”
At the same time he heard the voice, the man’s eyes widened slightly, because the sound didn’t come from below him but from his side.
From the magical girl who should have been kneeling from his sneak attack.
Dark magic surged, and the magic-enhanced reflexes gave the man lightning-fast reaction speed. The moment he heard that disdainful voice, his upper body twisted sharply as if separated from his lower body.
Then, he saw a pink gem flying straight at him.
“Bang!”
With a perfect baseball batter’s swing, the magical girl’s wand struck the monster’s head, knocking it clean off its neck.
Not skilled in close combat, magical girl Jiang Lingwei held her wand and said:
“Disguising yourself as a normal person—your monster predecessors have used that trick long ago. Which magical girl doesn’t know how to defend against someone she’s about to save?”
“After all this time, you’re still stuck with these little tricks.”
“I don’t even know if that ugly bastard can curse people, but I’m out of options. Time is tight, so I’ll just corrupt one first and call it even.”
“If I’d known it would come to this, I’d have made more cannon fodder. What’s the point of growth potential? Just kill the enemy early on. Those two idiots before—one summoner who had to go into battle personally, and one warrior who tried a sneak attack and failed, and I ended up losing a mage.”
Sitting on the throne, the black orb grabbed a handful of chips and stuffed them into its mouth.
“Crunch, crunch, all trash, what a bunch of suckers. How can they be so lousy? Otherwise, why would I have to do it myself?”
It stretched out a little paw, operating the magical lightboard before it. On the board was a massive humanoid aggregation, surrounded by dense fairy script.
Reading the data on the board, the black orb began its next plan.
“The secondary magic domain will last for another hour, but some humans may have escaped just now. The reinforcements from the trash won’t arrive until at least half an hour later.”
“That’s enough, more than enough.”
“Heh heh heh heh heh.”
The black orb let out the dark fairy’s sinister laughter, a sound made gloomy by the dark magic, and began its speech to the empty darkness:
“These bright-side trash and garbage would never expect me to try again immediately after one failure.”
“That wild magical girl who passed by has already gone far, and the nearby small fries can’t support in time.”
“Heh heh heh! There’s only one magical girl here. Whether she wants to block me first or go rescue someone, it’s me against that ugly bastard two-on-one. No matter how you look at it, the advantage is mine!”
Just then, a black, illusory light orb descended from the sky and entered the black orb’s body. After reading the information inside, the black orb grew even more spirited and stuffed another big mouthful of chips into its mouth.
“Good! That idiot actually dealt with that magical girl.”
Switching to the outside perspective, the black orb looked at the distant coffee shop with a wicked smile:
“Now it’s simple. Ancient weapon, here I come.”
“My dark aggregation is huge, you just need to endure a little—”
Suddenly, the black orb caught a glimpse out of the corner of its eye. On the lightboard’s external view, a flying figure was rapidly approaching.
“Hm?!”
“Bang!”
Before it could react, the space around the throne suddenly shook as if struck, trembling violently—
“Whoa—”
Immediately after, the black orb was thrown from the throne, falling into a pile of empty chip bags below.
