“……”
Colin had never heard of this labyrinth before.
He turned to Sifney and asked, “Do you know anything about this labyrinth?”
Sifney shook her head.
“I’ve never heard of this labyrinth either. Maybe some ancient books or scrolls might have records of it.”
Colin looked a bit disappointed but quickly perked up.
Although the only gain this time was just a name, at least it was a start.
Next, all they had to do was find where this labyrinth was located, and things would get easier.
Just as Colin was about to end the summoning, Sifney suddenly added, “But maybe we can find some clues at Alek’s house.”
Upon hearing this, Colin’s eyes lit up.
That’s right!
Alek had been living in one place before the Demon King died, and only after the Demon King’s death did he hurriedly come to Kit City and build this labyrinth.
Perhaps there were still some useful clues left behind at Alek’s old residence!
Thinking this, Colin eagerly looked at the High-Rank Demon.
“Where was Alek’s old house?”
“I don’t know.”
Hearing this, Colin raised an eyebrow.
He glanced at the Sanctuary Sword imbued with True Speech magic and found no reaction, which meant the demon was telling the truth.
“You’re a High-Rank Demon and you don’t even know where the previous summoner lived? Are you even worthy of being a High-Rank Demon?”
Hearing Colin’s angry question, the High-Rank Demon briefly doubted whether this person was really a Holy Knight.
But after seeing the Sanctuary Sword in Colin’s hand, it quickly dropped the suspicion.
“That guy summoned me here; how would I know where he lived before? You have to understand, I’m a battle-type High-Rank Demon. I’ve never cared about stuff like that.”
Colin felt a headache coming on.
If even this High-Rank Demon didn’t know, they’d have to spend more time looking for Alek’s old house.
It was like finding a needle in a haystack, and who knew how long it would take.
“No worries. I’ve studied the Demon Race’s interpersonal relationships and history. Once I get back, I’ll research some more and should be able to figure out where Alek lived.”
Just as Colin was troubled about what to do next, Sifney suddenly spoke up.
Hearing her words, Colin’s heart leapt with joy.
The High-Rank Demon also cast a meaningful glance at Sifney.
“Really? That’s great! We’ll tell Liyami later. Once you find the address, we can all go there together.”
Although Colin didn’t know exactly how Sifney researched Demon Race-related knowledge or why she was so confident about finding Alek’s residence, he was willing to trust her.
Seeing Colin so happy, the High-Rank Demon cautiously asked, “Since your problem’s solved, can I go back now?”
Colin smiled brightly at the demon.
“Ah, don’t worry. I keep my promises. I’ll pay the price to send you home right now.”
Seeing this, the High-Rank Demon breathed a sigh of relief.
“Phew, as expected from a Holy Knight, you keep your word…Wait! Why is that sword glowing even brighter?! Didn’t you say ‘True Speech’ only works on lies? I didn’t tell a single lie just now!”
The High-Rank Demon had just relaxed when it saw the Sanctuary Sword in Colin’s hand shining even more brilliantly.
Panic immediately washed over it. Colin, however, remained smiling calmly.
“‘True Speech’ only works on lies, but I never said I only used ‘True Speech.’”
“What? What do you mean?! Didn’t you say the price was to spare my life?!”
Seeing the demon so flustered, Colin smiled faintly.
“Of course, I keep my word. I said I would spare your life, so naturally, I will.”
“Then what are you doing now?!”
“Sending you home.”
“Huh?”
“Don’t worry, you won’t die. Actually, you can’t die. As long as the Demon Heart isn’t destroyed, even if a demon’s main body is killed, it will be reborn in the Demon Heart back in Hell. Judging by how anxious you look, you must really want to get home quickly. So, isn’t it great to use this method to send you home quickly?”
Hearing Colin’s tone, as if it were the most natural thing in the world, the High-Rank Demon was stunned speechless.
It couldn’t believe that such a beastly person—who even swore like a demon—could be a Holy Knight!
Colin didn’t care about the demon’s reaction.
He raised the Sanctuary Sword high and explained as he swung the blade with all his might.
“You really don’t understand others’ good intentions. Instead of breaking the summoning circle and sending you back slowly, wouldn’t it be much faster to send you home directly? Besides, you’re not really dying. Look at that—efficient and swift! How about that? Like my little trick?”
The High-Rank Demon just wanted to curse out everything it had learned in its entire life.
But Colin didn’t give it the chance.
With all his strength, he swung the sword.
The dazzling sword light filled with holy energy struck the demon’s body.
The High-Rank Demon’s body immediately shattered into pieces.
Its last words were full of unwillingness.
“Damn Demon Race! Damn Holy Knight!”
Watching the demon turn to ash and vanish, Colin stood still and began to pray.
After he finished, the place had been purified by the “Holy Light” three times over.
Not a trace of evil remained.
Colin turned to Sifney, waiting for her next instructions.
Sifney shrugged.
“Let’s go back. There’s nothing left to investigate here. Once we return to Kit City, we should inform the city lord to send people to clear out this labyrinth so no weirdos take it over again.”
Colin nodded and turned to pack up and head back.
At that moment, Sifney spoke again.
“Honestly, I didn’t expect you to agree to this plan. After all, it’s a deal with a demon, and you’re the strongest Holy Knight in the Sanctuary right now. Are you sure this is okay?”
Colin just replied lightly, “This is an emergency. There’s no time to care about that now.”
Hearing this, Sifney muttered quietly, “I didn’t expect you to care about that guy so much. Could it be that he’s the hardest to deal with…”
“What did you say?”
“Nothing! It’s nothing! Just some random thoughts. Let’s go back.”
Seeing Sifney already preparing to leave, Colin didn’t press further.
He looked at the ruins around him, a little worried.
He wondered how Liyami was doing.
She was supposed to make contact with the Shadow Veil Society tonight, so she must be anxious right now…
Liyami stood in the bathroom, looking at her smooth, white skin.
She was about to do something very important—release her desires!
